No one I know has ever said, “Flying? Gosh, I can’t wait to sit on a plane for hours, crammed into a tiny seat!” But after logging thousands of miles sometimes days in a row on planes – I’ve figured out how to fly coach… but feel first class.
It’s all about sleep, hydration, and comfort. So load up on water before you get on any plane, and pack your essentials kit, which will change your point of view on flying forever as you arrive at your destination refreshed, relaxed and ready for your vacation.
1. The perfect neck pillow
Nothing is going to ease your flight more than sleeping through it! And this neck pillow is so comfortable you’ll think you’re in your bed at home.
2. The best darn eye shades ever
These are like black out blinds – no light gets through. The guy in front of you may have his windows open in broad daylight, but you won’t notice a thing. Even better, they don’t lie flat against your face so your makeup will be perfect and your eyelashes won’t be plastered every which way upon arrival!
3. Lip Balm
Remember the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”? And the dad’s obsession with Windex? I have the same obsession with lip balm because on a plane it can do anything. Seriously. It not only moisturizes lips, it can be used under eyes, on cuticles and (you may want a separate one for this), to stop blisters if your shoes are chaffing. It even works to help a jammed zipper on bags.
4. Ear plugs
Crying babies? Constant announcements? Who cares! Ear plugs can be a lifesaver when you want to sleep in-flight before arriving to your destination! Store these in a small plastic bag or box for easy transport.
5. A scarf
Looking for an added layer that’s easily portable? Grab a scarf! Try tying your scarf in a slipknot to keep your neck warm, or it can double as a blanket if you don’t have one!
6. A Wrap
Because it’s always cold on a plane, no matter how hot it may be outside. Stay warm, get cozy and be stylish in a wrap!
Because as hard as they try, the airlines just never seem to get their meals right. And nothing will ruin your mood faster than being Hangry (hungry/angry).
You don’t want your phone battery to die after all those games of candy crush you played on the plane – especially when you land and you need to figure out transportation to your hotel.
