How To Decorate For The Big Football Game

Can you believe we’re in the final stretches of football season?! While the boys in my home love to gather and congregate in front of the big screen, I’m more about the rest of it… people and food! On top of the great food (and we’ve shared some deliciously perfect football recipes here too!), I’m always a fan of having friends over for the game. But with that comes great decor too!

Thankfully there are some simple ways to get festive for game day, and outfit not only yourself, but your food table, with the help of HSN and the NFL!

First, I start with the base and for ANY kind of party, a roll of butcher block or craft paper does wonders! This time we made a really easy football field table runner with it by simply drawing the yard lines and numbers with a marker and then adding in a strip of indoor/outdoor “grass”. You can even use construction paper or card stock if that is what you have on hand! I’d recommend green card stock paper from the Bazzill Variety Cardstock Bundle and just tape them together underneath to create the runner.

Next, we used a few Donna Dewberry One Stroke Glass paints to up level jars to use for glasses. We made sure NOT to paint the inside of the jars, only the outside, and then added straws to keep them food safe. With some simple paint brushes (my daughter is obsessed with these Donna Dewberry One Stroke Fantasy “unicorn” brushes) and of course the Donne Dewberry paints, we created jars that eluded to a football, a referee, the grass and play book. You can even take it a step further and decorate for your favorite teams, or let the kids get involved using the team colors you’re rooting for!

I love that HSN carries so much Officially Licensed NFL products as well… because you can deck out your party to cheer on your favorite team easily!! With Northwest Company Fleece Throw, you can make sure the seating area is covered, use it at a table cloth or even hang on the wall for a full on team-cheering decked out space.

And if you’re really ready to celebrate your favorite team, don’t forget to dress for them! We’ve got a plethora of our fave teams shirts and jackets so that we’re always ready for game day.
