Win The Gifting Game With These 3 Clever Mason Jar Ideas

Recently a few beautiful women in my life have had some big life experiences occur, one friend welcomed a handsome baby boy and another received a job promotion. Both events deserved a fun celebration, which had me looking for creative ways to say congratulations and I thought it would be cute to make each of them a little Mini Mason Jar Kit.

The concept is simple, create a mini kit of essentials for the person you are gifting. Not only is this cute, but it can also be a little easier on the budget! Here are four simple steps to help you create the perfect mini kit:

#1 –  Identify your audience. Think about what it is that your friend, family member, co-worker, etc is interested in and decide on a theme.

#2 – Find your jar. Before you go out and purchase all of your goodies, you need to know the size of your jar. This will determine the size of the items and the amount of items that you decide to include, this is also a great way to create a handful of gifts all at once!

#3 – Collect your items. With my jars, they were on the small side, so I found items that were mini or travel sized. It allowed me to fill my jars with lots of little goodies. If you are working with a bigger jar, it could be fun to put one big item and to build around it with much smaller ones.

#4 – Keep your presentation personal and playful. Decorate your jar, you can be like me and keep things simple with a hand made label and some twine; or you can choose to paint your jars, cover them in stickers, fill them with confetti, the options are only limited to your creativity. No matter what it is that you choose to do, always keep in mind, the point of the gift is for you yourself to have fun through expression and to give joy to the person you care about. The important part isn’t that it is perfect but that it is personal.

#5 – Share it with your loved one. The easiest step of all, delivering your masterpiece and watching the reaction as your gift-ee opens it.

The two gift kits I decided to go with were:

  1. Mani/Pedi Kit – In this kit I placed two Essie Nail Polishes, a handful of Savvy Travelers nail polish removal wipes, hand lotion, oil for cuticles, nail clippers, and a mini-nail file.
  2. Pampering Kit  – In this kit I included Ahaha sea-kissed mineral hand cream, Elizabeth Arden lip oil, microdermabrasion facial cleanser, 2 mini tubes of face masks, one charcoal and one brightening, and lastly a couple mini perfumes.

Some other Mini Gift Kits themes could be a Beauty Essentials Kit, Coffee Lover Kit, Teacher Appreciation Kit, Hostess Kit, Art Kit, Mini-Bar Kit, Travel Essentials Kit… really the options are endless.

If you make your own Mini Mason Jar Gift Kit, we’d love to see it!
