Capture Your Summer Vacation Memories With This DIY Travel Journal

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” – Jawaharial Nehru

Our family loves travel and adventure. Part of what makes it so special is all of the memories. And after a trip that is full of so many special moments what we truly appreciate is a way to look back on it all with a travel journal!

These are the things my kids hold dear, the things I hold dear. Especially in such a digital age, it’s easy to leave our photos there, and yet it doesn’t take much effort and makes such a difference to print them out.

So if you have a trip planned or memories of a great vacation of the past… let’s make a travel journal! You can get it started ahead of time and write in it as you go to savor and remember the moments. Or you can do it all afterwards, either way, it’s a simple way to capture that special time.

With the Kodak Verite 6 Anna Griffin® All-in-1 Craft Printer it’s easier than EVER to get those photos printed! Especially the ones from your phone (our favorite camera since it’s always with us!). From your phone, you can just download the app, sync with the printer and voila… you can get to printing all the photos from your trip.

Next, round up whatever kind of notebook or scrapbook you’d like to use. I actually had an old spiral bound calendar that I liked, and used that! Since I was planning to use different colored card stock as a background and covering the page anyway, it was the perfect base for our journal.

For supplies, I gathered tape for the photos and card stock (and the Xyron runners and sets are so easy to use!), washi tape, scissors and other stickers or decor I thought I might add. The Crafter’s Companion cutting dies subscription box has some great decor options that would work.

Another fun touch was to make a copy, on the Kodak Verite 6 Anna Griffin® All-in-1 Craft Printer, of our Atlas from the area we visited and I used that as the cover! It made such a great start to the journal and I love how it turned out!

With brings me to another little tip, if you have maps or other booklets from your trip, copy it on the printer to add to the journal! They make for great backgrounds or even focus pieces and can really pull the look together.

A few markers or colored pencils will help you to fill in the details.

Lastly, just have fun with it! Capture the spirit and adventure of your trip on the pages of your journal… and you’ll be enjoying it for years to come.
