How to Spice Up Your Favorite Active Pieces For All-Day Wear

As someone who is dabbling with living the minimalist life, every piece in my wardrobe has to be something that looks great on my body type and is also multi-functional. I love clothes and love being in the know with trends, but I also enjoy having fewer key pieces in my wardrobe that can be worn over and over. Knowing ahead of time that everything in my closet works amazingly and can be styled with each other easily makes getting dressed much faster for me.

This is why I’m loving the All-Day Active trend. On the surface this trend sounds like you could get away with wearing your gym basics outside of Zumba – and essentially it is, but you’re not exactly going to show up to brunch in a full-on sweatsuit.

What makes this trend work is by mixing activewear pieces with both basic and statement pieces. Yes, I do love minimalism in my wardrobe, but I also enjoy statement pieces like this fab Serena Williams Faux Leather Pleated Skirt. I love it because I love (faux) leather pieces and although this one stands out because of the tassels, it’s still extremely versatile and can be styled with so much in my closet. In this case it’s the perfect companion to dress up this LYSSE Legging Tank. It’s actually a full length tank but I folded it to break up the black on black and add a little sass to my outfit – no six-pack necessary.

Topping it all off is this floral Vince Camuto sporty bomber contrasted with these cut-out Sam Edelman Amelie Guille heels and fun Vince Camuto Bailey crossbody. You see how I contrasted the sporty nature of the tank and bomber with the edge of the skirt, bag, and shoes? That’s one way you can mix in active gear like tanks and bombers and have fun with your wardrobe while getting extra mileage on your pieces.
