New Year, new opportunities! Taking better care of our skin this year can be one of those new changes. As much as night and day differ so should our beauty routines before bed and in the morning. Start off this New Year on the right foot with a thorough morning beauty routine that touches on all the essentials of skin care in 5 easy steps.

1. Clean Up

The best way to start off the morning is with a fresh face. Beauty treatments and moisturizes from the night prior should be removed in the mornings to avoid build up. A simple facial cleanser is perfect for giving us a clean slate to begin with. A gel or cream based cleanser is a great option for cleansing while avoiding over-drying skin.

2. Hydrate Skin

Moisture, moisture, moisture! It’s our skin’s best friend and should always be applied after cleansing or toning skin. Since many of us will later apply makeup over our moisturizers, a serum can be a great hydrating choice. Lightweight and quickly absorbed, serums like the Elizabeth Arden Superstart Booster Skincare will ensure our skin has the hydration it needs. Moisturizing can also help those with oily or combination skin avoid excessive greasiness by midmorning!

3. Spot Treat

Shakespeare once said “The eyes are the windows to the soul,” and the logic that inspired that poetry is that most of us first look at a person’s eyes when seeing them. If our eyes are the first thing someone notices about us we should probably spend at least a few extra minutes on them every morning. Spot treatments like the Vbeaute Undercover Agent Serum for eyes can alleviate dark circles, puffiness, and sagging skin that can help to give our face a more awake and youthful finish.

4. Set A Foundation

With the basics taken care of, we’re ready to move on to enhancing our natural beauty with makeup. For a daily makeup look you can’t beat a natural, glowing face. Apply a matte foundation like the Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation Stick that has built-in SPF protection. With a flawless complexion you can just add a bit of blush and a swipe of mascara for an out the door style.

5. Protect

Our skin isn’t the only area that needs protection. Prevent lips from free radical damage by using a lip balm like the vbeauté Lip Spread™ Anti-Age Tinting Lip Gloss. With added shine and subtle color this lip spread will go perfectly with a natural makeup look, and you can feel good knowing that you’re taking care of your lips health in the process!
