I get so excited when the holidays come around. There are so many wonderful things about this time of year; the music, good food, parties and familiar traditions. There is one tradition that I always try and keep, which is sending out handmade Christmas cards to my family and friends. This year it is easier than ever for me to create a unique card when I use my new Cricut Mini machine, along with the free new online design tool Cricut Craft Room. I hope this card will help inspire your creativity, and by following the instructions provided, you too can create something beautiful to give at this time of year.
Joy Card
This cute card is perfect for spreading Christmas cheer!

Materials:
Cricut Mini™ Personal Cutter
Cricut® Font and Basic Shapes cartridge
Cardstock: red, green, dark green
Echo Park Season’s Greetings Collection
Cardstock: red glitter
Buttons: 3 red, 1 green
Twine
Paper trimmer
Foam squares
Glue dots
Adhesive

Cricut® Font and Basic Shapes cartridge

Designer Hints:
1. Cut one 8 ½” x 5 ½” block of red cardstock. Fold in half to create card base.
2. Cut four 1 ¼” x 4″ blocks of different patterned paper. Adhere to card as shown.
3. Cut label. Cut off a 1 ¼” strip of the scalloped edge. Adhere to top of card as shown.
4. Cut JOY. Adhere to card a shown.
5. Cut funky shapes. The smaller shape should be cut using the flip feature. Score down the middle of each piece to make them look like holly leaves. Adhere to card front using foam squares. Adhere red buttons in the middle for berries.
6. Tie twine around top of card. Secure with a glue dot. Tie twine through green button and adhere to card as shown.
