The weekend is almost here which gets me to thinking about where I’ll be going and what’s on my schedule. It’s great to get all dolled up for shows throughout the week but I also love to indulge in some comfortable clothes so TGIF! (Thank Goodness It’s Fashionable and almost Friday!) Loungewear and semi casual clothes carry me through the weekends, whether I feel like staying at home, going out to brunch, or catching a movie with family and friends. Try out these looks to find your comfort and fashion sweet spot.
1. Skinny Denim
Jeans and the weekend go together like coffee and cream. Skinny jeans are perfect because they are comfortable, hide stains well, and resist wrinkling–win, win, win! Check out the options from DKNY. I love the dark-wash; they always look sleek and slimming.
2. Basic Tees
A v-neck is a step up from a regular t-shirt and gives me clean angles to accessorize to keep the outfit looking fresh. Paired with a blazer or cardigan it’s really versatile to dress up or down.
3. Wrap Sweaters
These are perfect to tuck in your bag to throw on at the park or beach, or to again pair with a dark-wash denim for a more refined going-out look. Knit sweaters like this one from Lisa Kline always give a softening sophistication to whatever they’re matched with.
4. Comfortable Flats
After a week in heels, it’s good to let my arches breathe. If I’m doing errands or catching a mid-morning breakfast outdoors a cute pair of sneakers like from Easy Spirit look sporty and fashionable. Stylish athletic wear really caught fire in 2014 and I don’t anticipate it going out anytime soon!
5. An On-The-Go Bag
When I’m out and about on the weekend I never know what I might need so having a medium-sized bag like this one from Big Buddha that can carry everything comes in handy. I don’t want to look like I’m carrying my whole desk drawer with me, though, so a hobo bag that is stylish and spacious is a no brainer.
