Are you ready for a fun throwback fashion trend, that is bound to be hot this spring?! That’s right ladies, pastels are back and are here to brighten while simultaneously softening up your beauty look. Soon the makeup shelves are going to be filled with a variety of pastel everything…. eyes, lips, nails and cheeks; you name it and I bet you it will come in a multitude of pastel shades.
We love playing with new trends and finding a way to personalize them to our style and make them work for us, so we’ve been trying with a few pastel beauty products over the last few weeks and we thought we’d share with you some of our favorites.
When it comes to utilizing with this trend on your eyes, you can go full on and cover your lid in a cheery yellow or creamy peach, or if you are a little more reserved, we love the look of an accented bottom lid or a pastel winged eye. The two palettes that we’ve been loving are the Lorac Mega Pro Palette 3 and 4, these beauties are full of a variety of pastel colors, along with some great neutrals, that will compliment every skin tone. Their formula is very creamy, blendable and easily buildable, which can come in handy depending on how bold you want to go with your look. If you can only get one of these beautifies, my FAVE is the Lorac Mega Pro Palette 3, it will take you from Spring to Summer and right into the holidays… it’s gorgeous!
For those of us that aren’t really sure about exploring pastel eyes just yet, there are some incredible pastel nail polishes that you can try first to dip your toe into the trend, without going too far out of your comfort zone. If you are looking for a more saturated but soft color, Deborah Lippmann has got you covered with some gorgeous muted tones ranging from natural pinks and peaches into blues, purples and greens. Her “Touch Me In The Morning” set encompasses ALL of the pastel shades you’ll need this spring, and I have to say, it was hard for me to choose a favorite color from it; though “You Make My Dreams” pink eventually won me over. Essie also has a gorgeous collection of neutral pastel pinks and purples that not only add a soft shimmer to your nails but the Treat Love & Color line has a strengthening treatment built in to help nourish and grow your nails. I am happy to say that this treatment really worked on my nails, I painted them just a week ago and they are honestly getting long and strong. I can’t wait to try more of this formula.
In my opinion, makeup and nail polish is such a fun and easy way to play with new trends, without making too much of a commitment. I encourage you to step out of your beauty norm and try a new trend this year, you never know you might be surprised with how much you love the outcome!
