What is it about the holiday season that makes us go the extra mile when we’re getting ready for the day (or a night out)? I’m a big eye makeup girl, but I’ve never spent much time on my brows, aside from the occasional trip to the salon to have them shaped. For some reason, when the holiday season arrived I decided to give these brows a touch up at home and a little extra love during my makeup routine.
First things first, I take a few minutes freshen up the shape of my brows. My new favorite tool for shaping is this Lilibeth New York Brow Shaper. It’s a quick and easy way to touch up your brows and get the perfect shape…plus, it’s completely painless! That’s a big deal when it comes to shaping your brows.
Once you’ve got the right shape, it’s time to move on to your makeup. Since eye makeup has always been my favorite beauty product, I love to get dramatic with my liner and lashes. To get the perfect amount of drama, I like to brush on a couple of coats of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. I definitely feel like it gives you the illusion of a good set of falsies, without the extra weight or the glue.
I’ve always been under the impression that since I have dark hair, I don’t need to color in my brows. Well, I definitely don’t need to color them in, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t need to define them! I’ve tested out quite a few different brow pencils and powders, and these two always come out on top. For the every day, I give my brows a little bit of definition with Benefit’s Goof Proof brow pencil. It’s so easy to keep it light and get the right amount of definition for everyday wear. When I’m packing on the drama for a night out or a holiday party, I use Benefit’s Ka-Brow Cream Gel Brow Color. This one goes on a bit more solid, but can easily be built up for even more definition.
If you’re thinking about playing up your eyes, the holiday season is the perfect time to do it. A few new products and you’ll be on the way to some seriously good brows and lashes…and I’ve got to tell you: the eyes have it.
