Holiday Hair on the Go

HSN Fans,
The holidays are just around the corner and I want to show you some of the most requested hairstyles.
These are looks that seem simple but there are a couple of tricks that give you that salon finish. Take just a couple extra minutes, use the right products, and take the look to the extreme. If you want it sleek, make it super-sleek and frizz-free. If you want a killer blowout, go all the way, with even bigger hair, shape, and movement.
I know we’re all busy around this time of year, so I wanted to make it quick and easy for you to get beautiful hair for the holidays. Here are the steps:
Salon-Perfect Holiday Blowout
Everyday Holiday Glow2
The key to a great blowout is to showcase the layers with subtle shape and gorgeous movement. This look is classic and feminine.
How to get the look:

  1. Rake a protective blow-out gel, like Luxe Layers through damp hair.
  2. Use a round brush as a tool for shaping layers, rather than blow-drying straight down.
  3. When drying the roots, make sure the sections are pulled away from the head to get optimum lift and volume.
  4. Flip and shape the style. Especially around the face, experiment with twirling the brush out so that it’s modern.
  5. Spray Body Fix to give a lightweight hold and flexible finish.

Modern Textured Updo
Timeless Holiday Chic
A fresh take on the standard updo; this look is all about texture. The style is easy and shouldn’t be too perfect; when it’s pulled back it looks cool and glamorous.
How to get the look:

  1. Rough dry your hair and shape it with your hands to create texture and “pieciness”.
  2. For added texture, you can wrap random pieces of hair around a curling iron. This creates a messy but sexy look in seconds.
  3. Loosely run your fingers through the waves.
  4. Spray Texture Blast on dry hair to give hair guts and set the foundation. Remember it’s not a hairspray; it’s a wax, so just a quick blast is all you need!
  5. Loosely draw the hair back and fasten with an elastic band, keeping the volume on top.
  6. Then wrap your hair in a chignon and secure in place with bobby pins. For a different look, draw the chignon to the side – it’s very chic!

Ponytail with an Edge
Holiday Glam on the Go
This is not your everyday ponytail. Ponytails of all kinds are such the trend right now and what makes them new and different is when you take them to the extreme. Try a low, side ponytail with tons of waves and texture, or one that’s high, sleek, and full of high-gloss shine.
How to get the look:

  1. Start by spraying a volumizing product at the roots of wet hair. My Shape Up has marine collagen and very subtle texture to hold the style.
  2. For a more polished style, blow-dry the hair using a round brush. Be sure to lift at the roots for optimal volume.
  3. Once your hair is dry, pull it back into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic band.
  4. A great tip: Wrap a small piece of hair around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin.
  5. To finish the style, spray in Smooth Fix, or a lightweight shine spray and smooth through the hair.

Smooth, Sleek, & Straight
Holiday Night Out2
This style is very reminiscent of Cher but is modern because it has subtle layers to give it a little more dimension and movement. It is sophisticated and totally gorgeous because the hair looks healthy and vibrant.
How to get the look:

  1. What’s key is that the hair has to be in good form.
  2. Before blow drying, shampoo and condition with something that will lock in moisture and prevent breakage.
  3. Spray a frizz-fighting product like my Keratin Rx through your hair for intense but lightweight hydration. This will transform the texture of your hair.
  4. Using a round brush, begin to blow-dry the hair section by section.
  5. Experiment with parting your hair in the middle for a modern look and on the side for a more romantic style.
  6. Keratin Rx is great for sealing split ends and taming flyaways, so spray over dry hair to finish your holiday look.

Happy Holidays ~
Sally
