A good hair day changes everything; we feel more upbeat, confident, and beautiful in our own skin. For National Hairstyle Appreciation Day we want to share some inspiration on style ideas that can ensure we’ll have more days of bright, shining locks on the horizon. We’re putting the frizz and frustration to rest with these low maintenance, and easy-to-style hair ideas.
1. A Sleek Top Knot
This is a life-saver style for when we’re running late as it needs minimal setup time. First pull your hair back into a high ponytail, the higher the better. Texturize the hair of the ponytail using a volumizing spray and back combing. Next divide the hair into two parts, then starting at the base of the pony tail wrap each section around it. Once your bun is set to your liking pin it in place with bobby pins and capture flyaways with a setting spray of your liking. The Fringe of Beverly Hills 2-piece Blowout Kit is a dynamic duo for helping to build the volume and hold that this look needs. For added sophistication finish this look off with an accessory like this elastic headband from Roberto by RFM.
2. Funky Fringe
If you love your long locks but want a new style for spring try out a fun fringe. This style is a great youthful look while still maintaining a chic air. The best way to work with bangs for long or short hair is to straigthen them and give them a high shine. Grab a tool like the Wet or Dry Styling Iron by José Eber and straighten bangs with a slight curve by running the tool through the hair in an upwards motion and curling under at the very end of the tips. Finish this off with an enhancer like the Time to Shine Illuminating Mist by Blowpro.
3. Loose Waves
Relaxed, beachy waves are totally possible outside of the stylist’s chair and they’re an effortlessly lovely look. Begin with blowing out your hair using a round brush. Start at the base of your hair with the blow dryer and brush pulling strands upward and away from your face. Follow this up by sectioning off large pieces of hair to put in large, hot rollers for 10-20 minutes. When you let your hair down set it with a hairspray and run your fingers loosely through the curls, and shake them out a bit. For the tools to do this job the Detachable Small Round Brush Set by FHI Heat gives you everything you need in one tidy package.
4. A Voluminous Ponytail
Ponytails can feel like new with a few new twists and a lot more volume! For this low ponytail look that is super easy and glamorous begin by using a root boost spray like the 24K Root Envy Root Boost by Sally Hershberger. Apply it around the back crown of your head and comb hair with your fingers rather than a brush. Gather your strands into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck and choose a sparkling accessory to secure it like these hair ties from Emi-Jay. Next section off pieces within the ponytail to tease and texturize. Use a broad bristle brush to lightly comb over the whole pony but without brushing out the texture.
