As a mom that’s quite often on the go, I’ve found preparedness equals sanity. I take comfort in knowing that there are things I can trust and rely on, because they are things that I’ve tested over time. This can apply to clothing, makeup, skincare, shoes, etc. In the spirit of being prepared I’ve created grab and go kits for myself. Today I am going to share my go-to Beauty Essentials Kit, this kit has a little something for the skin, face and hair.
When building my beauty emergency kit, I went in with the mindset of less is more, finding just a small number of products that pack a big punch.
For the Face
A key way to get away with less makeup is having clear skin, enter Dry Lo’s Spot Treatment Acne Medication. This formula helps treat and clear adult acne and blemishes; and when used regularly as part of your skin care regime it is a great tool for acne prevention.
When it comes to longer lasting makeup and a flawless finish for photos, primer is a girls best friend. Benefit’s, The Professional Pore Primer Mini, instantly perfects your complexion by minimizing pores and fighting shine.
To carry on with the face, finding the perfect foundation seems to be an on-going process for many women. Our skin is constantly changing; as well as our preferences. I have found using Lancome’s Teint Idole Ultra 24Hr – Foundation Stick to be a pretty diverse product. On days when I’m wanting to keep things light and natural, it can be used as a spot treatment, hiding little imperfections but letting the rest of my face breathe and then of course on days when I’m looking for more coverage the foundation stick is highly pigmented but lightweight so if I need to build it up, it looks great and not cakey.
For the Lips
Benefit Cosmetics “They’re Real!” Double the Lip Mini in Lusty Rose. This adorable little lipstick is perfect for any on-the-go kit, because it’s a twofer. I don’t know about you, but I love a product that can accomplish more than one task. For example, in this one little product you’ve got both your lip liner and lip color. And if you’re in a real pinch, you can use a little of the lip color as blush.
For the Eyes
My go to mascara right now is the Too Faced, Better Than Sex Travel Size Mascara. Again the miniature size, doesn’t take up lots of space and the formula of this mascara packs a nice punch. If you are are looking for full, defined, dramatic-looking eye lashes; this mascara should be on your Must Buy List.
To go along with the Mascara, I am a big fan of black eye liner. It helps make my eyes look more defined and a little bigger. My current obsession is the Benefit, They’re Real Mini Push-Up Liner in Jet Black. One thing that sets this liner apart from others is the angled tip, it allows you to get real close to your lash line and it is build able so you can keep things subtle or you can go bold.
For the Hair
I have a really thick head of hair and while I wear it straight most of the time, it definitely is naturally a more curly texture. So that being said, I am always on the hunt for hair treatments that give my hair a bit of moisture and shine. Recently I’ve become a fan of Fekkai Essential’s, Shea Shampoo and Conditioner. The formula is designed for coarse/textured hair and it definitely helps soothe and tame my locks, leaving them soft, healthy and moisturized. And because, I don’t wash my hair every day the travel sizes, while petite, hold enough product for me for a decent sized trip out of town.
A dry shampoo is always part of my preparedness kit as I try to last as long as I can between washes. Besides adding volume and texture, dry shampoo can be a girl’s best friend for many unexpected occasions!
To keep it all together my Joy Travelease Tufftech Large Better Beauty Case holds it all together! I love the four removable sections so I can sort and organize, and can even grab one section to toss in my bag for a quick overnight, or use the entire case to pack for me and my family. It’s truly a multi-functional case!
So please tell me, what is a must have in your beauty essentials arsenal? I’d love to hear!
