How To Make Your Own Cinco de Mayo Photobooth Props

One of my favorite things about hosting and attending parties is the photos you capture during the festivities. Nothing beats candid photos with your besties! Creating a photo booth and coordinating photo booth props might be just as much fun as using them. As I crafted this Cinco de Mayo inspired photo booth all I could think about was how much fun friends and family would have. Get all the simple and fun DIY Cinco de Mayo photo booth props details below.

To create the photo booth backdrop you’ll need a white wood panel from a local hardware store as or you can simply use any open wall in your home.Often times I find a perfect area in my home for photos, but keep a piece of white panel on hand just in case it fits the celebration a bit more. Next I created a Papel Picado (a Mexico inspired banner) to hang as my backdrop. Using my Cricut, a few cricut tools, and the convenience of the cricut design space I created this beautiful banner. This specific banner has such intricate details that it will take about 25 minutes per banner to cut, but the results are beyond worth it. This beautiful banner will remain a permanent feature in our home because it’s truly that beautiful. In addition to the papel picado I added in mini flags that coordinate and a string of cactus lights to complete the set. Cardstock to create a variety of banners and placed in an overlapping manner is all it takes to create a simple yet eye catching backdrop.

To create the photo booth props with ease you’ll need cardstock, a cordless glue gun, craft sticks, and a Cricut machine. The possibilities are endless with props for Cinco de Mayo! I opted for the number 5, a guitar, and flower (homage to Frida Kahlo). To add to the photo booth props I also incorporated a sombrero, margaritas (because they deserve to shine), a flower crown, and a letter board. For your cardstock items and smaller flowers simply apply to the craft stick using the cordless glue gun; I recommend apply the glue directly to the cardstock then setting with your craft sticks.

From simple to dramatic, create Cinco de Mayo photo booth props that represent your style and you’ll celebrate naturally. Don’t over think the details and just enjoy crafting for your upcoming celebration. Grab your DIY supplies, pull out your circuit, and get ready to make a photo booth your guests are going to have a blast at!
