The cozy feeling that the fall season brings is a feeling that’s welcomed every year. Especially after a hot summer and looking forward to things slowing down just a bit. Fall decor starts to make an appearance around the same time school starts back which can seem a little overwhelming. This year, let’s change that by getting excited about decorating your home for fall with these DIY fall home decor items.
Framed Ribbon Pumpkin
There’s something to say about a cute, fall themed pumpkin. This framed pumpkin certainly does just that by creating a textured design using ribbon.
Start by cutting out a silhouette of a pumpkin in the middle of a piece of scrapbook paper using your Cricut Maker. Make sure to adjust the size of your paper to fit the size of your frame. Using the cut out pumpkin piece, trace it on the middle of a second piece of scrapbook paper. You’ll then cut various pieces of ribbon that are slightly longer than the pumpkin using the We R Memory Keepers Ribbon Cutter.
Going from left to right, use the Tombow Adhesive Applicator to attach the pieces of ribbon side by side over the tracing of the pumpkin. Once the pumpkin is covered with ribbon, place the piece of paper with the pumpkin cut out over the paper with the ribbon. You’re ready to frame your fall art piece!
Pumpkin Sign with Changeable Wording
Create a custom fall sign year after year using the same sign but a different quote if you choose to. How is this possible? By cutting out your fall quote using the Cricut Maker and turning the letters into stickers with the Anna Griffin® Xyron® Disposable Sticker Maker.
This allows you to stick your wording on a wooden sign, in our case a wooden pumpkin, and easily remove the stickers when wanting a different fall quote. This is a game changer when creating fall decor. Gone are the days of owning several different fall signs when you can have one that does it all.
Leaf Garland
Create a leaf garland that will become the finishing touch for your fall mantle. By picking out a leaf design on Cricut Design Space, you can cut them out in various fall colors. The Bazzill 100 Piece Variety Cardstock Bundle offers plenty of color options.
Once your leaves are cut out, use tape or hot glue to attach the leaves to a piece of twine that’s a little longer than your mantle. It’s as simple as that to create a garland that will have guests asking how you created yours so they can do the same in their home.
