DIY Ornaments to Complete Your Christmas Tree Decor

I’ve been playing with the Cricut Maker to create some beautiful tree trimming ornaments lately. Along with the new Cricut Anna’s Holiday Ornaments Cartridge, you can make some beautiful ornaments right in the comfort on your home as well! Inspired by Victorian tussie mussies, this cone shaped ornament is light weight and perfect for filling with your favorite Christmas trimmings.

With Anna Griffin’s Christmas card stock, Christmas card making set (which we used to make gorgeous letters to Santa as well!) and a hot glue gun, we were able to hang ornaments that look more like they’ve been passed down through the years or found at a local vintage shop, than made with paper!

It truly is amazing what we can create, with a little help of course.

Once I loaded the design to Cricut, within minutes I had the cone shaped base ready. The next step is just to wrap to form a cone by connecting the two straight edges together, overlapping one edge on top of the other. I used a hot glue gun to adhere.

The same for the handle, it was attached with hot glue adhesive.

From there it was just adding embellishments. I chose some that matched the decor of our home and tree, and with the help of some sweet little hands, our ornaments were hung with care!
