Hi girls! Now that 2017 is upon us, I thought it would be fun to look back on 2016 and create a list of a few of my favorite trends from last year!! I had a little bit of a difficult time creating the list because there were so many fabulous ones!!
Statement Necklace
This one always seems to make my list….wonder why!? This last year the statement necklace really made quite the comeback! One of my favorite ways to wear a statement necklace is with a boxy mannish black or gray suit! The perfect necklace to try this out with is my “Splendid Things” 6 Strand Beaded Crystal Rondelle necklace! This piece is just perfect for throwing on and feeling instantaneously fabulous!
Chain
This past year during the biggest shows of fashion week we saw the reemergence of chain!! A few designers that I thought did this well was Mulberry, Alexander Wang, and Versace for fall 2016! A fabulous collection is my “Power Source” collection. The necklace of this collection has the most fabulous twisted Turkish rope chain!!! Make sure to get this one home and try it out…you’re going to love it!!
Tassels and Fringe
I have said this numerous times before, I always get so excited when I see wearable pieces with movement! Pieces with tassels tend to be easily transferable from the runway to the streets. Last year, we saw everything from fringe on sweaters, fringe on evening wear, fringe-y heels and bags, the hem of skirts and you guessed it… Fringe/tassels on jewelry as well. LOVE IT!! This style adds a fun movement to your outfit-be daring and deck out in fringe with a long skirt with pleats and a long necklace with tassels, or start with a small amount of fringe-y fab and wear a necklace with a tassel! The perfect necklace that ties in with this trend is my “Masterful Combination” necklace!! This necklace has a fun little play on the tradition string tassel. Be sure to pick up the earrings as well!
Grays
This past fall a big trend was charcoal, and all of those shades in the “gray” color family, such as slate and dove. I have always found that there is something incredibly refined about grays that create a modern chic look for all times of the day! I think that this versatile color looks particularly stylish in monochromatic color schemes, and girls, trust me… it is quite easy to pull off gray from head to toe! You’d be surprised to find, that it’s quite impossible to find tones that clash! It literally goes with everything in your closet…yes even brown! In keeping with this trend, a piece that would look particularly extraordinary is my “Elegant Beauty” necklace. This necklace is just GORGEOUS with the Tahitian pearls nested under crystal and black diamond pave leaves!!
Choker
One of my all-time favorite trends and styles has always been a fabulous and sparkly choker! I just love wearing a super glam and sparkly choker for a more fierce and dramatic look. My “An Evening in Salzburg” crystal necklace is perfect for this. Four rows of individually knotted mink colored pearls that lead to a gorgeous center station with bezel-set Swarovski crystals. This fabulous choker shimmers at every angle and is bound to make a statement.
