Hot Dog! 3 Unique Recipes To Rock This Week’s Menu

July is National Hot Dog Month, which is just perfect this time of year, But even better is National Hot Dog Day, which falls on July 19th! Celebrate today, and all month long, with Joey Fatone Hot Dogs!

Today, I’m sharing three easy recipes a little outside of the box for National Hot Dog Day; because while a regular hot dog is quite tasty as is, why not up the flavor for a food holiday like today?

Pressed Reuben Dog

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 hot dog
  • 1 ounce corned beef
  • 1 ounce sauerkraut
  • 1 hot dog bun
  • 1 ounce Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 ounce Swiss cheese

Instructions:

  1. Grill hot dog on a flat top or grill, 3 minutes per side.
  2. Grill corned beef and sauerkraut on flat-top, or skillet for 1 minute.
  3. Place hot dog in bun, and add dressing. Top with corned beef, sauerkraut and cheese.
  4. Press hot dog (using a panini press, or other sandwich press). Slice diagonally.

The “Hot” Dog

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 hot dog
  • 1 slice Sriracha cheese (if you can’t find sriracha cheese, any spicy cheese you like is fine)
  • 1 hot dog bun
  • 1 ounce Sriracha sauce

Instructions:

  1. Grill hot dog on a flat top or grill, 3 minutes per side.
  2. Melt slice of cheese on hot dog.
  3. Toast bun on grill.
  4. Place hot dog with melted cheese on bun, and add Sriracha Sauce.

New York Dog

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 hot dog
  • 1 hot dog bun
  • 1 ounce mustard
  • ¼ cup sauerkraut
  • 5 ounce red onion sauce (usually found in the refrigerated condiment aisle of the grocery store)

Instructions:

  1. Grill hot dog on a flat top or grill, 3 minutes per side.
  2. Toast bun on grill.
  3. Place hot dog on bun, and add mustard, sauerkraut, and red onion sauce.
