Football Fan Shop Weekly Recap – Week 4

Can you believe we’re already a quarter of the way through the NFL season?  Seriously, time flies when you’re scoring obscene amounts of points one week after the next (we’re currently on pace to shatter the NFL record for points in a season by the way).  As coaches around the league will tell you, the first quarter is in the books with 3 quarters still remaining.   So those of you with a team that is a little bit behind the 8-ball (I’m raising my hand as a Lions fan at 1-3), there’s still a lot of football yet to be played – the season is not lost just yet!!  There’s a reason why we play all 16 games and don’t crown a winner after week 4.
HSN Power Poll – Week 4
1. Houston – With Atlanta needing some late game heroics from their QB & Kicker, the Texans again were able to coast right along and now sit atop the Power Rankings all by their lonesome.  They now travel to New York to take on a Jets team who is beyond dysfunction.   I smell 5-0.
2. Atlanta– No, it was not the prettiest of wins, but sometimes – you take them any way you can get them.  The bottom line is the Falcons remain undefeated and their QB is starting to get the attention he justly deserves.
3. Baltimore – No surprise the Ravens were able to handle the Brownies last week at home in front of their passionate Purple Power faithful.  Looks like they have another layup this week as they take on the 1-3 Chiefs.
4. Arizona – Much like the Falcons, the Cards escaped at home with some last minute brilliance to remain undefeated.  Will the magic run out on Thursday night on the road vs the Rams?  We shall see.
5. San Francisco – Back inside the top 5, the 49ers bounced back from their hiccup against Minnesota with a thorough dismantling of the Jets in the Meadowlands.  Perhaps Harbaugh and the guys should always stay in Youngstown Ohio for road games.
The Next 5
6. New England
7. Philly
8. Green Bay
9. Chicago
10. Cincinnati
My Picks this Week
Arizona, Cincy, Green Bay, Baltimore, New York (NFC), Pitt, Washington, Carolina, Chicago, Minny, NE, SF, New Orleans, Houston
Last Week: 12-3
Overall Season Record: 37-25
