Welcome
Welcome to my first blog
I am really happy to take this opportunity to touch base with you. This has been a long time dream of mine to have a way to communicate directly. I will be updating my blog before every show or when I have a wonderful trip or adventure that I just can’t wait to share with you.
This year seems to be screaming by. It’s funny when I was younger, time just seemed to stand still at times, and I wanted to be older, so I could experience more in life. Now that I am older, time seems to be rushing by and I am worried I don’t be able to see it all. There is an upside to time passing quickly – it takes several months to take an idea to a finished product, and I am always so excited to share it with you – the anticipation is painful at times, so since time passes quickly, before I know it I am on air and can share not only my latest creations, but also the story about how I designed it or the adventure of how I found the stone.
This month is a big travel month for me. I’m taking a two week trip across the polar ice cap and then south into Asia. This month I’ll travel all over Asia, this is always interesting, and one of the many trips to discover new “Mine Finds”, it gives me a chance to hook up with miners from around the world, as well as get a fresh look at color combinations and another culture’s interpretations on art and beauty. I will meet with all of my many foreign vendors and get to see everything from fresh water pearls to all the different shapes and colors of coral.
I have always enjoyed traveling, and the interesting cultures that you get exposed to. I will take this opportunity to film some of the unusual things and share them with you first hand. I will also be taking still pictures that you will see on an upcoming entry.
I am really excited about my upcoming visit. I have so many new and different designs to share. I have some unique combinations of stones and two great new concepts that will be debuting in the July show. Make sure to tune in so you can be one of the first to see them.
Please check in often and feel free to write me below – please keep in mind that when I am out exploring and discovering new finds…they don’t always have internet access, so it may take me a while to write you back or answer your questions – but rest assured I will do it when I return. Have a wonderful July – see you before you know it.
Safe travels……Jay

This is a great point. Just so that you know our goal is a quality product. The problem is how it is handled after it leaves our hands. I will always stand behind my designs 100% and repair anything I can This was one reason for the blog. We manufacture all over the world, example, all our silver comes from the country-regionUS , but we acquire rough and manufacture in several countries. I am not aware of anyone who doesn’t do the same. If the silver is done in the country-regionUS then the stone or rough materials come from other countries. It’s a global economy. J

Thanks, I love triple C I hope you tell more people about us. J

Its Anhui turquoise. A variety they call RED SKIN, because of how it looks……..It comes out looking like red balls when mined. J

Funny I am working on that now. Less than 5% of the Amber rough I get is this color. We will have it some time down the road. J

I buy direct from the mines in most cases. It depends on where you are going. You might want to read up a bit on Opals before you go. Knowledge is power, when buying. J

it would be great if you would write a book about your adventures .also about the many gem stones you make your jewelry with.i have started to collect your magnetic necklaces ,i can’t wait to see what the next one will be made of.
Jay, Just read your blog and noticed that nobody from Kansas had responded. Maybe that’s a good thing for me if they don’t know how utterly awesome your jewelry is!! Then I know that nobody will be wearing the jewelry that I am wearing, right?? Ha!! Just wanted to tell you that I think your jewelry is unique, exquisite and gorgeous. I also like the fact that you educate your viewers as to where your stones come from, how they are mined, and how each one is created. Better than diamonds!!!
Great shows yesterday…I always enjoy them and usually buy too much!! I purchased the ring Item # 397-123 and you talked about the colors of red running through it, but I never heard you say where the turquoise came from. Since the coloring is so different, I would really like to know. Keep up the good work and have fun in life!!

Love the Mine Finds and the fine mind behind it all! You do amazing things with rocks, stones and materials that are unbelievably beautiful. I am so angry at myself for missing out on the butterscotch amber drop earrings you had some time ago, I needed them to match a necklace I’ve had for some time and put off buying them until they were sold out. Any more butterscotch amber coming down the pike anytime soon? Hope so, watching every time you are on the air. Hurry back!
Hi Jay! Love your jewelry and just purchased the beautiful lilac quartz necklace with the heart pendant–can hardly wait to receive it! My husband and I are going to Australia in November and like you, I love opals. Do you have any advice for shopping for opals in Australia? Take care and enjoy your Asian travels. Thank you for all of your beautiful Mine Finds and your great travel stories.
yes-thank-you jay..i loved all the items you had on last-night..we are so spoiled when you are on hsn.my credit card is smoking, but the quality, and the prices can’t be beat…as at the flea markets you will see items way-more priced, and they are not real..and you explain the stones and where they come from.so very interesting.please keep-up the good work.looking forward to your next-visit..i get so many compliments for the jewelry you bring us..love when colleen is on with you, as she knows h
Hi Jay, Because of your beautiful jewelry and the desire to wear your earrings, at age 71 I had my ears pierced for the first time. I now own several pairs of your earrings and around 30 of your necklaces. One of my favorite necklaces is the Polish Flint. I would love to aquire a pair of earrings in that interesting stone. At the time I purchased the necklace, I was still wearing clip-ons. Can you help me with this request?
Hello Jay,
I like many of the individuals below enjoy and have many of your pieces. I’ve even purchased necklaces, bracelets, and rings for my mother. Would you happen to have enough of the stone to at least create one set of Mongolian Flourite earrings. I have the necklace. Love it but have nothing to match it. Really hoping you can help. Thank you
Hi Jay! I am a true fan and have many many of your pieces, too many to count. Every time I wear something of yours, I get compliments from people, even strangers. I was wondering if you could possibly get a hold of some Larimar (Latimar?) from the Dominican Repluboic/Haiti. It is such a beautiful stone and I’m sure you would make some lovely designs for it. I am also hoping for some more boulder opal if you can get your hands on some. Kepp up the good work!
Hi Jay,
Love, love your jewelry. I was wondering if there is any way I can get a bracelet to match my set (which includes the necklace, earrings and ring) in blue lace agate and lapis. The necklace was a today special and I purchased the whole set. I’ve been hoping for several months now for a matching bracelet. Do you have any plans on doing one? I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.
I have sent you 3 ltrs. in c/o HSN as directed by them since January. I have called HSN 3Xs to send contact to you – all to no avail. I purchased a beautiful mother of pearl and lovely light green stone necklass. When I received it I didn’t pull it out of the bag to look at it. I put it away for the holidays and when it was opened the necklass strand was not attached to the clasp and the beads were falling off. I tried every effort to contact you to see if this could be fixed. Disappointed.
LOVE your fabulous mine finds! Have a request: Could you make some adjustable rings? Stretch-style, hinged, open back or clip-on (like hair clippies) so they’d go over my knuckles but close securely around my thin fingers? Many HSN designers aren’t making size 5’s any more, and their top-heavy rings have super-thin shanks. Even size 5 can be large on me, and with a thin band the ring spins annoyingly. Thanks for making nice substantial pieces, and for listening to our requests!
I’ve been watching you on HSN for many years and love all the stories you tell us when it comes to your Mind Finds. I was glad to see that maybe you will be able to bring us more colors in coral. Blue coral maybe? Suggestion: Please continue to use the larger silver end caps that slightly cover the last bead. They make the necklace look more full and complete. Take care and enjoy your travels.
HI JAY! AWHILE BACK I ORDERED A NECKLACE MADE OF GREEN SMOKEY QUARTZ- I LOVED THE COLOR BUT THE PENDENT HAD A CRACK DOWN THE MIDDLE SO I RETURNED IT-I WAITED FOR THE RETURN TO BE COMPLETED AND WENT TO RE-ORDER AND IT WAS OFF THE WEB SITE DO YOU HAVE ANY MORE ? I HOPE SO-
WOULD LOVE ONE! WAITING FOR THE TURQUOISE BOWL!
Just to let you know am a big Mine Find hound—The stories you tell about your adventures and the new finds and the quality of your jewelry. I would love to see you do something in druzy and larmiar. I also the way you stand behind your jewelry. Safe traveling and look forward to seeing you later this PM and in August. Your friend near the TN fresh water farm.
I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy all the pieces of jewelry I have purchased, especially the turquoise pieces. I’ve been collecting for some time. I would like to hear from you, as to how I can purchase the new sheppard hooks for my necklaces. I’m 67 yrs. young and have arthritis in my hands. Your new pieces have the newer hooks, but it would be great to get some for the older pieces. Thanks again for the great jewelry and designs. Keep it coming.
Good morning Jay. I’ve been a huge fan of your collection for many years. I would love to be able to expand my recent purchases of the Blue Snakeskin Jasper pieces. Hope to see more of them in future. The uniquie coloring is a perfect match to my Salon Blue Pamela McCoy leather jacket.
Hi Jay, After watching, listening and learning from you all these years, I feel I know you. I love everything you bring to HSN and wish I had married better, I can’t afford all the pieces I would love to have. We live in North Dakota and no one ever knows about the stones I show up to work wearing, they all think they are beautiful but say I dress way to fancy for ND. I love them all and sure wish I could purchase more. Thank you Thank you
I must say that I am delighted with the exemplary customer service your company delivers with regards to the quality and uniqueness of your products and especially for the unprecedented handling of special requests from your customers. I contacted Jill re my Lake Victoria Jasper necklace to have a clasp added so that I could wear it 3 times around. My request was fiIled same day your received it at no charge. I know of no other business which provides this kind of support. Your team is the BEST!
Hi Jay,
I have only been collecting your jewelry for about 3 years and have so many that it is hard to count. But I do have a question.
Will you ever offer the hook clasp for the necklaces?
I have about 3 of your necklases tht have the lobster clasp and not as easy to get on and off for me.
Thanks for all your hard work in bringing all of this beautiful jewelry, I live in Kingman so i have quite a bit of that Turquoise in my collection of jewelry.
I try to never miss your shows.
Sincerely,
Hi Jay! Congrats on your new blog! I’m a HUGE fan of your jewelry & I must say your s-clasps are wonderful, & so easy to put on.
I know you listen to your customers so I’d like to suggest adjustable rings. I have arthritis in my hands and some days the fingers are 1/2 size bigger than other days and I can’t wear my rings. This makes them easy to wear everyday.
Happy, Safe Traveling!
The first time I watched HSN, you were showing the most beautiful jewerly. I bougtht 3 necklaces and this was the start of collecting your pieces. In 7mos. I have purchased 19 pieces. As others, the story behind each find on your trips, how the piece is made, your excitement, makes a GREAT SHOWING!! Am looking forward to seeing your new finds from your current trips.
Jay, I had asked for more lilac quartz and I see you are delivering!! Thanks so much for listening to customer requests. We do appreciate you and your hard work.

Jay I love your jewelry. I have peppermint opal necklace, bracelet and earrings, but I do not have a ring. I hope you can obtain more peppermint opal.
Like everyone else I just want to thank you for all your beautiful works of art and starting this blog so we are able to tell you so. You mentioned that you expect to see coral on this trip and I can’t wait to see the organic designs you create from it. Keep up the great work!
