What happened in Vegas…..Is coming to HSN!
Lady Luck was on my side this past week as I joined over 20,000 jewelry professionals from all over the world in Las Vegas, Nevada for the 18th annual JCK Jewelry Show! The Sands Convention Center was buzzing with jewelry insiders all looking to discover the latest styles, trends, and inspiration the jewelry world has to offer!
Although I didn’t have much luck in the casino, I hit the jackpot when it came to discovering gorgeous new jewelry!
One of the key trends at this year’s show was the influence of Global design. Exotic, ornate and ethnic influences were everywhere – nothing drab or hum-drum to be seen!
At the Himalayan Gems booth I was blown away by the artistry of some of their newest pieces. Their hand crafted silver pieces and beaded necklaces from Nepal are more beautiful than ever….Here’s an example of just one of their new beaded necklace designs coming in November!
Another big trend is Color! There was an explosion of color throughout the show.
For Fall 2009 look for blues, greens, purples, fuchsia, salmon and berry as top color choices in both fashion and jewelry. When I stopped by to visit Sajen Silver I was excited to see some of the most amazing new colorful jewelry by Richard and Marianna Jacobs. The “sky’s the limit” for this fabulous design team – and wait until you see the first Sajen Silver Today’s Special launching in August! If you love color….you will be impressed by their stunning gemstone ring that will be our Today’s Special (in 3 vibrant color choices) – I can’t show it to you yet, but it rivals the lights of the Vegas strip!

Finally, the one key trend that continues to take center stage in the jewelry world is Statement Jewelry! If your taste is big, bold and one-of-a-kind, you will be “all in” for jewelry styles for the upcoming seasons!
Amy Kahn Russell is one designer who knows all about Statement Jewelry – in fact her “Statements” collection for HSN’s Silver Gallery is perfect for the woman who dares to go big!! Amy’s booth is one of the most exciting to visit – the look on women’s faces as they walk by and gaze at her eye-popping designs is priceless. Amy’s July Silver Gallery show will feature some fabulous new Statement rings, necklaces and bracelets…..You can bet on it!

There you have it, a little peek inside the biggest jewelry show in the United States!
And come to think of it, with the good fortune I had finding so many beautiful things at the show this year – I’m guessing Lady Luck is a jewelry collector, too!

Colleen, someone else asked and I am now beggin you to tell us about the beautiful and slimming black and white dress you wore on your show the end of July. I am going to my school reunion in September and would LOVE to get it. Please please let us know whose design and where we can get it.
Colleen – My question is regarding your Prestige Jewelry Boxes: you used to make the black ones with a pink interior…will you be doing that again? Loved it more than the black interior, it shows off the jewelry better and is prettier sitting on a dresser. Maybe make it in white with pink interior as well. Love all your shows. Keep bringing us great items like that new emerald necklace!
I have a question, I was watching Tuesday 8/4/09 about 11:00 eastern, Colleen was showing a ring that was coming up, it came in 3 colors, 1 i remembered was named carribean i think, a greenish blue, the ring was stunning, I have been searching on line for 3 days to find that ring and i have no luck

Hi Coleen. I have a wonderful bra from Dr. Rey that has never come back. I keep looking, but nothing. It is an underwire bra with wide straps for us well-endowed girls (38DDD). Please please request that he bring it back. He doesn’t have a blog. Sorry to have to ask you to check on it.
Coleen, I enjoy your Favorite Things and all your shows. The items you pick are always special and so very classy. I have a request. Last year you did an Christmas Ornament set in a pink box lined in satin………the ornaments were so very cute. Can you please do another set for this year. I would love to have more plus I would love to buy a set to give an ornament to friends for Christmas. Please bring them back and add a new one for people like me who want to collect them. Thank You!

A couple of years ago, HSN offered Technibond watches in bysantine, san marco, panther, and one other style of bracelet. Sure would like to see them offered again.

Hi Colleen…I’ve noticed both you and Rachel Huber having difficulty at times speaking. It might be the dust in the air. I have found an ionizer eliminates that problem. You are both such lovely peole, maybe if you try the ionizer (near you while on the air) it will be the solution. My first ionizer came from HSN. Even took one to work as the building I worked in was old – and old buildings produce their own dust. Please pass this on to Rachel. I hope it works for both of you.
I tried to order the flourite necklace from Diana Venezia, but was disappointed that she sells out so fast, placing me on wait list. Her jewelry is exquisite and unique. I LOVE her designs; one is better than the next. I can’t wait to see her new jewelry pieces. When will she be on HSN again???

i will be watching for your favorite items.i hope the new items will not have pockets or zippers in the back, such as in slacks and capri-pants.as the zippers can spread apart when we set.this happened to me and boy was my face red..thank-you.

Hello Coleen! Love your prestige jewelry boxes. Prefer the smaller sizes since they are easier for me to store. The new small cuff box is great, holds an assortment of jewelry. Please bring back the gray color, great for the sterling silver jewelry. Also, you had mentioned new style boxes becomming availabe around the holidays, does that mean in December 2009? I am still trying to get your new cuff box in red or gray if you decide to bring the color back.

Just purchased the starfish ring by Amy Kahn Russell in the clear colored stone. Love it!!! I am drawn to the beach/ocean so it’s a special piece for me…brings back a lot of special memories for me! Can you ask Nicky Butler to make some green chalcedony earrings to match his beautiful green cross? I have moonstone earrings and can make do, but I’d rather have the style that matches the more modern look of that cross. Thanks!
