Twiggy’s got a lot in store for us as she celebrates her one year anniversary at HSN! She’s bringing us a Customer Pick Today’s Special, and shares news of an album in the works. Read on for more Twiggy style secrets, and what she thinks Kate Middleton will be wearing for the royal wedding!
What have you been up to since your last visit to HSN?
Well we’ve been traveling constantly, because that’s just what we do. One thing that’s been really exciting since we did the last blog post is that I’ve been in the studio recording a new album. I can’t talk about it much right not, so this is only a tease, but we’ll be doing something special with HSN!
Other than that, I’ve been working full out on all of our new designs that we’re bringing you with this visit. We have a show about every 8 weeks, so it’s a constant design process. We’ve been busy, but it’s great fun. I thought that I would be retired by my age, but I love working with HSN right now.
You know, it’s actually our one year anniversary this visit! And we have a Today’s Special–the gypsy skirt, which was one of our best-selling items from our first show a year ago. Most of the things we did for our first show were things inspired by my own wardrobe, so we’re so excited to bring this piece back. We’ve updated it with some beautiful embroidery, and it comes in black, white, khaki and a multi-print! It’s so easy to wear.

Let’s talk more about your new collection, what’s your absolute favorite piece?
It’s hard to pick a favorite, because they are pretty much all my favorites. We’re getting lots of feedback now, and I’ve got so many women calling in and telling us how much they love this and that. We’ve learned a lot over the past year about our customer. In a way, they are now guiding us.
It’s also nice to do things that are a bit different for them once in a while. It’s fun to get people to step out of the box. I think especially for my age group, I try to give women the courage to experiment. I love the tailored jacket. That’s very much my look, and I’m so glad our customers have picked up on that. I always say during my shows, “fashion should be fun!” I try to bring a good sense of what is coming on in the world at an affordable price. I work really hard to get that right.
Speaking of your most popular items, a lot of people have really fallen in love with your Union Jack designs. Why do you think people love the British flag so much?
Well, it’s a great flag! And I’m happy to say that I think there’s a great love affair between the Americans and the British, and I think the flag is a part of that. I saw a woman carrying that handbag through airport security not too long ago, and I wanted to go over to her and tell her that she was carrying my bag! It was really exciting!

You have an amazing pair of bright pink pants in the new collection, would you describe yourself as a pants woman or dress woman?
Definitely. I love my trousers! It’s definitely my look. And boots! I love boots. I still have my first pair of cowboy boots that I bought from Nudie’s in California. I don’t really have them anymore, they’ve disappeared from my wardrobe and are now in my daughter’s!
We know you love boots and winter clothes, but what would be your ideal summer outfit?
Well, I recently became the godmother of a cruise ship, and we’ll be taking a cruise soon–my first one! I’m thrilled about our newest [ Twiggy LONDON] items, and I think the silk pants with the bird print are perfect with our light denim jacket. I think I’ll be wearing that all the time on the cruise.
How do you think the fashion world has changed since your time in the 60s and 70s?
I think the biggest change is that the industry has become ginormous. Fashion has always been important, but now it’s a major industry globally. Every woman wants fashion. I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who’s not interested in some way about clothes and fashion.
Finally, we have to ask you who do you think Kate Middleton will be wearing for her royal wedding? If you were to dress her, what would her dress look like?
I don’t know. I’m guessing it will be one of the big British designers. Everybody is saying Bruce Oldfield. I’m sure whoever she chooses it will be beautiful. I can really see her in a narrow and sophisticated dress, but who knows, maybe it will be shocking!

Twiggy you’re awesome. What I don’t get is why everyone is so wiggy about the British flag? I have been to Ireland, Scotland, Paris, and Italy (military) Every one says the French are snobbish, I have never been treated better in France. When I went to Ireland I was eating bacon with my fingers and I had an Irishmen look at me and say “I was always told Americans are barbarians now I believe it” Scotland on the other hand is awesome, guess you have to be a barbarian to have manners!

Twiggy, your clothes are just “the bomb!” Love all your suede boots especially, missed out on the pink ones with the removable strap, hoping you will bring them back, pretty please? :) They are so comfy, and after just getting back in regular shoes from a badly broken foot, yours are the only ones that fit well! I too, am a Union Jack aficionado and would love to see a more medium size leather bag with that beautiful flag on it. I have all of your purse charms (so cute!) Love, love, love you!

I missed out on your Buckeled/belted mid calf Boots. I was extremely disapointed . Please Say you will bring them back for another go around. I am a 9.5 wide. Hard to find wide width boots. This is just continuing with the jakz99 union bag customer. I can’t believe your beautiful items are not covered by anything other than a 30 day warranty? I have ordered a beautiful leather jacket as previous stated and then order the union bag in brown and a broke zipper after 2 months of wear is really disturbing to me as a customer who loves and wants to continue to shop twiggy a designer who only has a 30 day warrenty if the item doesn’t live up to a certain standard like a faulty zipper.
HeI Twiggy! My mom called while I was visiting a friend and told me I had to see the leather motorcycle jacket that you were offering in RED! Well I saw it and had to have it, and 2 of my friends saw it on me and had to have it also! It was a big compliement to how good I looked in your jacket. Then ordered a studded leather purse with the flag emblem on it and I started using my purse in May and the zipper broke 6/15 and HSN said they only stand behind your product for 30 days is that true?
Twiggy can you please bring back the union jack purses that you had out about six months ago? I think tne regular price was around $200 and the colors werew red, brown, and one was grey. with the Royal Wedding just taking place i would love to own one. Can you please respond to my question? So glad you liked the Union Jack bag. I do have a weekender bag on HSN.com right now that I love! A little different with birds and flowers incorporated into the print.
And in September, I have a wheelie luggage piece with the Union Jack. I hope you like it!
Twiggy, I just received your cute little taupe boots. But mine were defective. I LOVE the way they look on. I’m going to have to send these back because one boot looks a whole size bigger and it looks like I’m wearing 2 different sizes. But they were sold out when I checked. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring them back. I SO want a pair. They look cute with everything! I am sooooooooo disappointed! Love your stuff though!

Twiggy, I just received your Pink Jean Jacket with Lace Trim, and when I was getting ready to cut the tag off, I read it first. It states to wash this garment before wearing. This is a jean jacket, why should I wash it first? I like the crisp look of the jacket.
Hello! Hope you are enjoying your jacket. It was one of my favorites. We recommend washing in order to soften up the denim, but like you I just want to throw it on and go!
