Travel in Style with Samantha Brown and Your New Favorite Luggage

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be debuting my first ever line of luggage with HSN. It’s been a two-year design process that really began over a decade ago when I boarded my first flight that began my job as a world traveler. A job that would take me to 54 countries, traveling many miles (I stopped counting after a million) on the road for 230 days out of the year, and checking in and out of hundreds upon hundreds of hotels.
If there’s one thing I know, it’s luggage.
Luggage can make or break your journey. I’ve bought pretty luggage that began to fall apart after one trip, and I’ve had the super expensive bags that cost more than a trip to the Caribbean. It worked well, but its ubiquitous black color made me look like every other businessman on a commuter flight bound for a meeting.
If there’s another thing I know… it’s that I am not a man. I like having nice things that look great and make me feel put together. I wanted luggage that could be both strong and beautiful with a design that inspired you to get out there and experience life. I didn’t see it in the stores, so I designed it myself.
The look has a handmade-from-Europe feel. With rich jewel tone colors and a croc design that catches your eye. Even the all black piece is a stunner. The accents are inspired from vintage luggage from the 1920’s, those large suitcases with capped corners nailed in place, and leather straps to secure all of your things. Of course, that’s totally impractical for how we travel today, but the style is from a time when travel was considered glamorous; people dressed up, wore gloves and their luggage said something about them in the same way their coat, hat and white gloves did.
I completely understand when it comes to airports how the art of travel has disappeared. We are now treated to long lines, pat downs and shouted at to take off our shoes. The glamour is gone. Yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t look the best you can. How you look, as we all know, absolutely affects the way we feel. And carrying beautiful luggage is going to make you feel more in control, and more excited for your trip. And if people who look at you and your luggage happen to think you’re an heiress, what’s the harm in that?
But my luggage isn’t just about beauty, She’s got brains too! Each feature is based on a piece of failed luggage, and a lesson learned. The features were chosen to make travel as easy and stress-free as possible. My luggage is strong and beautiful.

Purchased your 28″ black croc piece three weeks ago and love it. Lots of compartments and lots of room, very classy. I used it for the first time this weekend (10/28/11) on my trip to New Jersey from North Carolina. Upon removing the piece from the turntable in Greensboro, the front caster broke off! What do I do? Don’t have any of the paperwork from HSN from whom I purchased it. Do you have replacement casters I can purchase? I’m

Samantha, I bought the 2 pc upright and tote from HSN on 05/27/11, but didn’t get to use them until 10/09/11. One side of one handle tore off the tote. The rivit was not installed correctly. I used a key ring to fix it.I got many compliments on the set. The wheels worked fine. I flew on a 737-700 and the overhead compartments are possibly smaller than larger plane, had trouble getting it in. Had nothing in the pockets. Must be careful how fat to fill it. Thank you. Jen
Samantha I am a huge fan of your shows and I positively love your luggage, I got the black upright and doctor’s tote a few months ago and although I don’t really travel very much (but this was too pretty to pass up and my old luggage had holes in it) I still find the tote very useful, used it as an overnight bag for a stay in the hospital and all the nurses were very jealous. So happy to see the other pieces back in stock so I can complete my collection and hopefully soon take a real vacation :)
Samantha, I love your luggage and bought the whole set. but I have concerns over the reviews that indicated there was cancer causing chemical in the luggage.Can you address the issue? While I like the luggage I don’t want the cancer causing chemicals. Thank you.
I really want and NEED the casual overnighter bag, but since I already have the navy croco embossed set, I’d like to continue with the same design. Any chance for this bag in the croco design?
Samantha, I just got back from traveling the whole of Croatia and parts of England and I cannot even begin to describe what a nightmare this luggage was for me. If I could have found the time to buy new luggage over there and toss this with great ceremony into the Adriatic Sea, I would have. I bought it in May and didn’t travel with it until September and can’t return it, so it will be at the curb for the garbage truck on Thursday. Very disappointed. No one needs that stress traveling!

I love your travel shows. I bought the navy blue lightweight set to use on my Red Cross Emergency Response trips (just got back from the East Coast for Hurricane Irene). Thanks for taking care of those annoying problems in traveling (the one shoulder that is lower than the other!). This will help me a lot with jumping in and out of trucks!

I’ve been waiting all summer for Sam to come back on but all I see is the “practical” luggage. I love the stunning blue croc set she had in May. I need the 28″ and a medium size (24/25″) if she makes it. When will this be available again

I ordered a set of this luggage back in May and loved it. Had a lot of compliments. We are having a problem with the wheels locking up. This is not a good thing when your going through airports. Just wondered if anyone else has had this problem and what to do about it. This happened the first time we used it.
We also got the blue croc luggage back in May. Wheels drag. It’s very annoying trying to get through a larger airport and then down the thin aisles of the airplanes. Pretty luggage, but we could have done better with actual luggage quality/price by shopping at Marshal’s or T J Max. Shame on you and HSN for not having a recall on this luggage with so many emails on the same problem-THE WHEELS!

Hi Samantha, I just came across your bags but only the black ones are available. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want your set!! & really need travel bags this year. Your bags look BEAUTIFUL. I do not own any travel bags & just now looking to own a set. I can’t take any other set having seen yours. PLEASE PLEASE bring back the red. I’d love a set of 4 pieces that includes 2 of 21′ for 2 to carry onto the plane, 1 carry on, & 1 big bag (travel over sea). Big bag of closet in closet would be so GREAT
Samantha–I got your two piece set in green back in May and I can’t tell you how many compliments I get every time I travel with them. My husband couldn’t believe how many airport staff and flight attendants commented on it. He said “imagine how many different pieces of luggage they see every day–that luggage must really be something special for them to actually notice it.” I absolutely need the larger matching pieces though–26″ and 28″. Are you ever going to make those available? PLEASE!

I love the appearance, but the wheels don’t roll. What are the plans for a recall to replace these wheels? Any potential buyer might read some of the reviewers’ comments on the HSN website before purchasing.
Well that’s not good! i hope you sent it back. We have had no other complaints and i’ve been using mine for a year now. If you got a lemon, you should be able to return it for another. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I love your travel show and just happened to see your luggage on hsn.com tonight. I missed your debut in May, but am hoping you will have more luggage sets available soon. Can you please bring a set with a large upright bag (ie: 28″ to 30″), a 19″ or 20″ carry on bag and a vanity case? Or better yet, a large upright (28″ to 30″), a medium upright (24″ to 26″) and a 19″ to 20″ carry on? That would take care of heavy traveling as well as weekend trips. Hope to see you soon! Thx

Hi Samatha, your luggage was the first piece when I got it home that I wanted a complete set. I ordered the 21″ set in the burgundy – FABULOUS!! That color was sold out in the large one piece, I think 28″. I bought the black thinking it would blend. It does. But would absolutely love to get the larger pieces in the burgundy. I’m travelling to Africa in July and would love to get that piece. Are you coming out with more pieces that will match your debut? Would love to get a heads up!

I also would love a vintage set in purple (incl. the tote and the larger size). Please consider making a set for little girls as well. My daughter is 6 and was born a fashionista. She says your pieces are “beautiful” & her favorite colors are purple pink. I’d like to see some lighter colors as well. Such as camel, grey, sky blue, sage, light pink, etc. Next time you come I’ll be ready to purchase quickly. The navy was elegant and sold out. Thank you for coming to HSN!
Great luggage. Can’t wait to try it out later this month as I travel to Europe. Next question for Samantha: WHAT TO PACK??? How can I get 14 days into this two-piece set? Help. You said, “Take twice the money and half the clothes”–but what clothes? Maybe you could demonstrate how to pack for a 14 day trip by using some of HSN’s clothes???
Will you be offering the Dr.s bag/tote on its own. I have a selection of good luggage and only need a good tote for travelling and this looks just like the bag I am looking for. Stylish but user friendly.

I too was disappointed that the 28in piece of luggage had sold out as well. I bought the TS in burgandy and really wanted to complete the set. I wish there had been a waitlist for this piece for sure!! Will it be offered again so I will have the chance to purchase it and can you notify me of when or if it comes back in stock? This luggage looks great, but I really have my heart set on a purple set of luggage. Any chance of it?
That was interesting when I spoke on air Samantha and the host had no idea what I was talking about. Maybe I wasnt communicating correctly. I asked to design and travel handbag and both thought I was still speaking about luggage and they wouldnt let me speak to lead them down the correct thought path. oh Well, I guess Sam wont be designing us a travel hand bag that is functional and pretty.
Most are very ugly nylon bags. Going to Europe you need beacause of pickpockets.Wallet on neck is no good
