Travel in Style with Samantha Brown and Your New Favorite Luggage

IMG 0236 Travel in Style with Samantha Brown and Your New Favorite LuggageWhen-to-Watch: Samantha Brown luggage premieres Friday, May 27 at midnight ET

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be debuting my first ever line of luggage with HSN. It’s been a two-year design process that really began over a decade ago when I boarded my first flight that began my job as a world traveler. A job that would take me to 54 countries, traveling many miles (I stopped counting after a million) on the road for 230 days out of the year, and checking in and out of hundreds upon hundreds of hotels.

If there’s one thing I know, it’s luggage.

Luggage can make or break your journey. I’ve bought pretty luggage that began to fall apart after one trip, and I’ve had the super expensive bags that cost more than a trip to the Caribbean. It worked well, but its ubiquitous black color made me look like every other businessman on a commuter flight bound for a meeting.

If there’s another thing I know… it’s that I am not a man. I like having nice things that look great and make me feel put together. I wanted luggage that could be both strong and beautiful with a design that inspired you to get out there and experience life. I didn’t see it in the stores, so I designed it myself.

IMG 00921 Travel in Style with Samantha Brown and Your New Favorite LuggageThe look has a handmade-from-Europe feel. With rich jewel tone colors and a croc design that catches your eye. Even the all black piece is a stunner. The accents are inspired from vintage luggage from the 1920’s, those large suitcases with capped corners nailed in place, and leather straps to secure all of your things. Of course, that’s totally impractical for how we travel today, but the style is from a time when travel was considered glamorous; people dressed up, wore gloves and their luggage said something about them in the same way their coat, hat and white gloves did.

I completely understand when it comes to airports how the art of travel has disappeared. We are now treated to long lines, pat downs and shouted at to take off our shoes. The glamour is gone. Yet, that doesn’t mean you can’t look the best you can. How you look, as we all know, absolutely affects the way we feel. And carrying beautiful luggage is going to make you feel more in control, and more excited for your trip. And if people who look at you and your luggage happen to think you’re an heiress, what’s the harm in that?

But my luggage isn’t just about beauty, She’s got brains too! Each feature is based on a piece of failed luggage, and a lesson learned. The features were chosen to make travel as easy and stress-free as possible. My luggage is strong and beautiful.

Just like you.

IMG 0180 Travel in Style with Samantha Brown and Your New Favorite LuggageCan you tell I want you to love your luggage? In fact, I would really love to start a group of women, and call us the Sisterhood of the Traveling Luggage. These are the rules: Once you purchase a piece from the Samantha Brown collection, I want you to take a picture of it enjoying your trip. I’ve posted some examples of my own trips so you’ll know what I mean. I have so much fun doing this, and the more clever and creative you are the better. Then, tell us about your trip! Likes, dislikes, must-sees and don’t-even-bothers. I’ll be there to chime in with my own list of advice and adventure too. Together, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Luggage will make life a wonderful journey. Go ahead, jump in!

Editor’s Note: Send your travel pictures and stories to facebook@hsn.com to have them featured in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Luggage photo album on the HSN Facebook Page!

Hello Sam, My wife just bought two more pieces of your signature luggage. It is great looking women’s luggage. My guess is you often travel with your husband. Which brings me to my question. What luggage does he use? As nice as your’s is I don’t see a man traveling with it. Perhaps he should have his own line to sell to men. Something made by porta-brace or pelican, maybe.

Just a thought. All the best!

I have to agree. I would like to buy a carry-on set (plus a 28″) for myself and for my husband. However, the ‘tote’ that comes with the 22″ carry-on set looks like a handbag and is always much too feminine looking for a man. How about offering more than one choice of tote. In particular, I think the jumbo tote (238-475 on HSN) that was offered in tweed would suit either sex. Or just offer all pieces separately instead of in sets so we can choose the tote to go with the carry-on. Any chance of that ever being offered?

Love your luggage–bought several pieces last July but I’m frustrated in my attempt to add Accessory Kit in Black/Camel Croco embossed exterior with Off white lining.. I ordered it in November, 2012 and just recently in May, 2013. HSN keeps sending kit with a muted gold lining. The videos still show correct lining color for croco-embossed accessory even though wrong color sent out–no notice of color change. Would like to match with luggage I have. What should I do to get right lining color? I don’t want to switch to your new Tweed luggage with the gold lining. HSN does allow return but a waste. I don’t get your great product and gives it a bad name. I’ve seen other reviews about the same substitution. Thanks for whatever you can do…

  • LouieNet says:

    Hi Sam!

Please offer a warranty for your luggage. HSN’s 30 day policy isn’t long enough to try all your bags especially for someone who bought many pieces and can’t use them all on a single trip. You say you stand by your products. I would hope that you would show that with a nice warranty.

I’m a very long time fan of your shows. And I bought many pieces of your luggage for my wife. When she walks around with your luggage, she is admired by family, friends, and strangers!

    • TFOXREST says:

I have several pieces of the luggage and love the look of it. Unfortunately the warranty is non-existant. My underseater suitcase lining frayed in two places after the second use. Called HSN and because it was over 30 days/and or 6 months since my purchase, they couldn’t do anything about it. Not a good investment when you buy several pieces and expect them to last more than two uses.

I would like to know how I can get your pink 28″ bag. I bought the 21″ and when I went back to get the 28″ it’s not there. Every color but pink. I’m kind of stuck. I have mis matched luggage now.

  • nanarita58 says:

Samantha recently receieved your luggage in the burgandy It is beautiful and seems to be great for my travel needs. Just noticed that you have a rolling tote, but no burgandy. Are there plans to bring this tote in that color? And if so when?

  • monkey319 says:

samantha, purchased some of your luggage in the navy crocco for a friend for christmas and would like to see the cabin piece in navy hope you will add that to the colors Please.

    thanks

Samantha-I love the look of your luggage. I feel so organized when I fly now. I have almost every piece in navy. NOW for the problem, the SB logo on one of my cases is broken. It also has two marks that are scuffed right down to the white underlaying surface. My question is can I get a replacement name logo. Even if I have to purchase it I will. I feel bad having such beautiful luggage and not using it. ALSO-PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE PUT A LINK OR PHONE NUMBER ON YOUR THINGS SO WE CAN GET IN TOUCH.

  • Rickie817 says:

I purchase my first set of your luggage this summer as a birthday gift to myself. Went on a trip and saw another lady with the same color as mind which is the purple ( my favorite color ). Came back home went on another trip in Sept with my church and one of our members bought a set and in same color. My play mother just bought her a set in navy. We all have great taste. Just purchase the tote with the cosmectic bag had to get it in Black because you didn’t make it in Purple. Why?

  • LWARD says:

I just bought another 28″ because it can’t even last 6 months.. NOT sure where you are getting your pieces made, but you have to work on the quality..

  • union says:

I ordered the dowel weekender in red and really like it. The problem is it doesn’t have spinner wheels. PLEASE make spinner wheels. You are still out of the red in all items.

  • Samipson says:

Just got my piece today and GASP. OMG it is so lovely. I want more. I wasn’t sure when you were on and wanted to see one piece in person. Now that I have it I want all the matching pieces. When will you be back at HSN. I can not say enough!

  • Skdavis1067 says:

The burgundy croco luggage is beautiful. Wish now I had also ordered the larger suitcase as this color is sold out. Bring it back please!!!

  • ARIDGE says:

Recently bought the TSV and like the look/price but as a very frequent flyer I have design suggestions. 1st, I’m not a fan of the vertical zipper – it’s like a big shopping bag. If the bag could be laid flat and completely unzipped, much better. 2nd, when the handle is extended, the top of the bag is unzipped, so the inside contents are not secure – odd. At a minimum, have the zipper zip from each side. 3rd, when you stack the tote on top of the cabin bag, the cabin bag sags. Thanks!

  • Fynest1 says:

Oh Sam! True diva luggage, everyone gives 2nd & 3rd looks with compliments. Exquisite, doctor’ tote PLEASE offer solo for Daily Divas. We don’t want to ruin the luggage set with daily use of the tote. I used your tips and packed for 3 days with my tote alone. Please configure a set with a doctor’ tote, 21″ & 25″ both w/360 wheels and front load the like the cabin bag. Make it in burnt orange, that would be ideal! Simply Sam,Thanks Sam. All true divas reply so Sam grants our wish. Happy travels.

  • SIshopper says:

I need the yellow computer bag to match my set. I see that the piece you show is not big enough for my 17″ PC. Any plans on making a larger case?

  • cyncmd says:

Hi Samantha…Your luggage looks beautiful but I do have a question for you. You said you only need three pairs of pants and three shirts for a two week trip. Well I’ve been watching one of your shows and so far you’ve worn 5 pants, 8 shirts ,3 jackets, 1 sweater 3 pr. boots 1 pr shoes, 1 hat , 1 scarf. Will this fit in your carry on suitcase?
Please if you’re going to talk the talk you need to walk the walk!

  • joytoshop says:

    Hi Samantha,
I love your show! You give great tips and add a little humor to everything! I purchased your luggage from HSN with the built in scale for our 2 week venture off to Portugal and Spain. I loved the lightweight fabric and bright color (easy to find on the carousel!) The main reason I purchased it was for the built in scale, but unfortunately it did not work, and because I purchased it over 30 days prior to the trip, I could not return it. Can you tell me where I can get it fixed?

  • Dear Samantha, I did not order the today’s special, but I wanted to get the doctor’s bag with the medium upright. This was sold out. I love the green croco. Would it be possible to make a today’s special with the Doctor’s Tote, and 2l” upright again. I love this combination and wanted to get it so bad. These luggage sets are so stylish and beautiful, and the bow just absolutely makes a beautiful finishing touch!!! Thanks so much. linda.

  • ADNYL says:

I second the warranty request. I purchased $500 of your luggage in yellow with brown. I used the doctor’s bag 3 times and on the 3rd travel episode the zipper broke and was frayed! I attempted to get a replacement through HSN and was sent a 28 inch bag instead! I already have that one. Please advise me when your doctor bag will become available in yellow. In the meantime, I have an incomplete set and am very disappointed. I travel a great deal and thought your line would be more durable.

  • ladyjustice says:

Can you please start offering a warranty on your luggage? I purchased your luggage (the tote w/carry-on roller bag) on Christmas. I just used the set last week (March 23) and the handle on the tote broke. I looked for the contact info for your warranty department (since I’ve only had this piece for 3 months) and when I couldn’t find it I called HSN. HSN informed me that you don’t offer warranties on your pieces. For luggage you should. 30 days is not sufficient to test the durability of luggage

  • ladyk755 says:

Thank you Samantha for your beautiful lugggge. i bought three sets of your luggage with the doctor’s tote. I love the rolling tote with padded laptop compartment, but did not order it because I can’t see myself carrying any luggage that does not have 360 spinner wheel. I am pleading with you to please make a spinner version of the rolling tote with padded laptop compartment. If you cannot mass-produce, please make me one in black/carmel. Thank you, and thank you for your hard work

  • Dilerner says:

I love the look of your luggage! I desparately would like to purchase your carry on luggage set that was shown on HSN but as a Canadian I cannot find any way to purchase it as HSN will only accept American customers! What can I do? I would be willing to pay extra to have it shipped to Canada. Thank you so much!

    Diana

I too have loved living vicariously through Samantha’s many travels especially Machu Pichu. I do a fair amt of domestic travel. I just ordered and received the 21″ upright, doctor’s tote set in yellow croc. It’s stunning. Now what I really need is for you to make a 24″ upright to go with the 2 pieces I already have. I have found that size bag to be the most practical-neither too big nor too small. I’ve had to unpack at check -in with a larger 28″size bag d/t exceeding the weight limit.

  • LeTrelle says:

First I will say that I “absolutely” love your luggage!! I have the red tote/small bag set and two of the larger bags same color. Did I say that I “love” your luggage!!! I have received “many” compliments on the luggage. For some reason, my tote didn’t come with the shoulder strap and I really miss it. I’ve attempted for months to see how I can get the strap without buying the whole set again. I’ve called but was told I can’t get it. Anyway I can get the strap on the red piece.

  • DebDenney says:

I have all of the pieces and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE every one of them!! Please make a computer bag as well!! Thanks for making such a stylish line of luggage!!

  • dhsm says:

Please sell your tote bag that slides over the luggage handle separately. Thank you!

  • annrose says:

    Hi Samantha,

I love your luggage especially the doctor’s satchel and carryon suitcase. Is there a chance that you will you be selling the docters satchel as a stand alone piece. Thanks
