Celebrate Beautiful You: Beauty & Health Tips from Colleen Lopez
Wow – What a year – It’s hard to believe we’re getting ready to say goodbye to 2010….The months have flown by!
For my final blog of the year, I wanted to take a moment to answer some of the questions I get asked most often about beauty and weight loss. I’ve always said I’m a “late bloomer” – and through LOTS of trial an error I have a few tips and tricks that have been working for me that may come in handy for you in the new year!
I also wanted to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued love and support. I feel connected to you, our viewers, in so many ways. We all want to feel great, look our best, and live our lives with passion!
Here’s wishing you a Holiday Season and New Year filled with joy, health, love, happiness and dreams coming true!
Many Blessings to you and yours,
Colleen
Beauty Talk
We sell so many great beauty products on HSN, it’s temping to want to try them all!! Many of you had heard me say, that I’m a big “chicken” so needles and injectables are not part of my beauty routine (pain is not an option for me!). So here are the products I use and other tips for good skin care…
1. Stay out of the sun. Wear a hat, big sunglasses and lots of sunscreen – nothing ages us faster than the sun’s harmful rays.
2. Drink water – I drink a minimum of 7 bottles (16 oz each) a day. I believe staying hydrated keeps the skin glowing.
3. Vitamins – I use both Essential Omega 3 and Health Hair Skin and Nails by Andrew Lessman….I love my vitamins!!
4. Morning SKin Care Routine
Serious Skin Care Vitamin C Cleanser
Lancome Renergie Lift Volumentry Face Cream and Lancome Renergie Lift Volumentry Eye Cream
Wei East Eyes Alive (for days when I wake up with puffy eyes!)
5. Evening Skin Care Routine
Serious Skin Care Vitamin C Cleanser
Lancome Genifique Face Serium
Lancome Genefique Eye Serium
Serous Skin Care Replicate and Renew Face Cream
6. Weekly at home facial – I use both Serious Skin Care C Extreme Results and Ole Henrickson Facial 3 Little Wonders.
Weight Control
Losing weight is a constant battle for many of us – especially this time of the year!! Lately I’ve been finding some success thanks to some changes I’ve made in my diet. My best piece of advice is to “be easy on yourself”. Don’t set lofty goals….Just take one day at a time and try to make healthier choices.
1. Count Calories. I know this is boring – but it works. I try to keep my calories under 1,500 a day. I still can eat things I love, but in smaller amounts!
2. Don’t eat after 7:00 pm. This is a tip Jennifer Flavin Stallone gave me. She is so slender and keeps her gorgeous figure year in and year out. She said she doesn’t eat a big dinner – ever.
I started eating my big meal at lunch time (or mid afternoon) and I no longer have a big meal in the evening. If we go out to dinner (and it’s after 7:00) I order something very light (salad or something off the appetizer menu). I also use Andrew Lessman’s Secure Meal Replacements – Great for breakfast and when you have a craving for something sweet!
3. Apple Cider Vinegar. Another tip from Jennifer….I put one Tablespoon in a glass of water and sip it. It helps with appetite and also has many other health and cleansing benefits!
4. Skinny Cow. Have you heard of Skinny Cow Ice Cream Treats? They are low in calories and
delicious! I keep them in the freezer so If it’s later in the evening and I feel like a treat (my favorite is ice cream!) – I have a Skinny Cow – Yummy and guilt free!
5. Exercise. Find something you enjoy – walking, treadmills, yoga, dancing around the house….it doesn’t matter what we do as long as we get moving! I try to get 30 minutes a day (love my Malibu Pilates Chair!).
The most important thing we should all remember is that we’re all beautiful in our own special way! I truly believe that beauty comes from within – Celebrate the beautiful person you are everyday – and keep on shining in 2011!
Love,
Colleen

Hi Colleen
Merry Christmas. Love your boxes. I just got your earring box. I didn’t realize I had soooo many earrings. Can you make another earring box just for dangly and studs? I’m also waiting for a box for brooches.
Thanks
Hi Kitty!
Thanks for your message!
We have a brand new earring box we’ll be introducing this spring….It’s larger and will hold a lot more earrings (both dangling and stud styles).
Happy New Year!
Colleen
hi Colleen– I was looking to get a msg to Laurie Feltheimer, but she no longer has a blog pg. I ordered a velvet blazer w/her & Tara Swennen listed as the designers, washed it once (per instructions given on label), & it literally disintegrated into pieces of cloth. Any idea on how to get this info to her? Thanx so much, and have a wonderful holiday season!! Melissa
Hi Mellie,
Sorry to hear about the blazer your ordered.
Are you on Facebook? I know Laurie is on Facebook and I’m sure you can contact her there!
Happy New Year!
Colleen
Merry Christmas from MinneSNOWTA!
Happy New Year, Minnesnota!
Hi Colleen-You are my favorite host! I especially love your enthusiasm, especially when you’re showing jewelry. I have a suggestion about your Prestige jewelry boxes. Why not make 1 box that’s the same length as the others, but don’t put dividers in for those of us who have long pieces to put in or who might want a place to lay necklaces down? It’s better for necklaces to lay rather than hang up on a narrow post. I also wanted to say how gorgeous you are. You should be a model!
Sincerely,
Nanc
Hi Nanc!
Thanks so much for your kind and wonderful message – I really appreciate it!
I really like your idea of offering a large box with no compartments…..we will work on this for you! We also have a brand new necklace box coming in March that will hold tons of neckaces (and can be stored laying flat).
Happy New Year!
Colleen
A new necklace box sounds exciting. I have acquired so many from HSN, I need a better way to store them all. Have recently purchased several of your boxes and love them. But, one box that holds several of the chunkier pieces would be lovely. Cheers! Isabelle
Hi Colleen- I always enjoy watching your shows. Thanks for the healthy tips. I am terrible about drinking water, but will try the apple cider vinegar trick.
Just wanted to let you know that you look like you have lost weight, and look great. But it’s enough. We love our Colleen just as she is, so feel free to indulge a bit this festive time of year. Have a great holiday and a healthy and peaceful New Year.
Thank you, Tom! Don’t worry – I love food too much not to splurge every now and then! Enjoy the holidays and have a happy, healthy New Year!
Hi Colleen, Like you, I am also a late bloomer. I enjoy watching and buying from you. Please tell me how you get your nails to look they way they do. You’ve probably addressed this question before but I’m new to blogging. Thanks, and happy holidays.
Hi Historymiss,
My nails have a coat of acrylic over the natural nail. Lately I have been wearing the OPI color “Kiss on the Chic”. Happy Holidays! Colleen
Hi Colleen, I was wondering if your ever going to bring back your cupids arrow ring? That ring is so pretty as well as simply beautiful.
Hi Amatullallah!
Yes! The Cupids Arrow ring is coming back in March for My Favorite Things…It’s truly one of my favorites! Happy Holidays!
