Spring Inspiration

Submitted by Nate Berkus on April 15, 2009 – 2:20 PM6 Comments

Hi. So much is happening right now. I’ve been working on so many new ideas and products for the line. I’ve been spending a lot of time in Italy (check out Brian’s apartment in the May ELLE DECOR to see our pad there), and even got to go to my favorite flea market while there in Parma to hunt down ideas. I’m leaning towards more traditional fabrics after seeing things like painted chairs from Venice still covered in their original silk…how incredible. That’s why I love to “flea”…it’s like a museum of design that changes each time you go.

I’ll look forward to seeing you next time I’m at HSN on the 27th of April. By then, I’m sure I’ll have been to a few more “fleas” and have more inspiration to share.

Before I go, I wanted to thank you for using my things in your homes and for your confidence in me, and also invite each of you to ask me your design related questions on the new “Ask Nate” page. I’m going to answer as many questions as I can during my first green room webcast. Tune in for that!

Be well and happy spring,
Nate

Nate, Love the new headboards. The nice wrap around nail head, tufted is just wonderful. In the video you say it somes in different colors but the website will not give me color options. Also, please consider square rugs. They are so hard to find but sometimes are a necessity because of room configurations (part of furniture on rug yet rest off kind of thing). Really need a 8 or 9 foot square. Love, love what you do. Watch you where ever I can. Thank you for everything!

Please make your rugs in 7 or 8 foot squares. I am especially interested in the Jute Braid rug. Love the style of this rug; but need a square for my dining area.

    Nate,
I love you on Oprah and now on HSN. Your collection is gorgeous. Any tips on what to put above kitchen cabinets? I’ll keep checking out you on Oprah and this site for decorating inspiration.
    Thanks!

I love that you have come to HSN. I hope you start a blog for how to help us all decorate. I rent and am stuck with the patio door that is in the living room and goes out onto the patio. I have searched for years as to how I could hang something to cover the window. It has the verticle blinds that open and I need help. I know if anybody can give me ideas it will be you. Thank you for all you do for us everyday people.

Nate … I really love the new line. I would so appreciate it if you could include a bedspread in your collection. Not all of us are into comforters with dust ruffles. I prefer a bedspread because I have dogs. The dust ruffles are a big pain for me. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and I just don’t have the dexterity and strength in my hands to pull off the dust ruffle and wash it frequently. A comforter alone just doesn’t fit properly.
Please, please consider adding a bedspread.
    Take care
