Hi Sewing Friends,
The April Stylist Today’s Special was a big success. We introduced a brand new presser foot from SINGER called the ‘flower foot’. The new foot sews different sized circles with any of the built in decorative stitches giving the circles an abstract, contemporary fancy flower look. The first tip to remember is to make sure that your attachment is being held onto the shank with the special screw that is included in the package. This special screw has an indentation in the center so that the attachment can ‘lock’ in place. The second tip is to make sure that the little sideways pin on the attachment is inserted into the small hole on the back of the presser foot ankle. Make sure that it is pushed snugly in place. The third tip is to be sure to stabilize the fabric that you are using to sew the circles. Use an iron-on tear away stabilizer to give you the support needed for a smooth run while allowing you to rip it away when your flower has been completed. If you do not use a tear-away, the stabilizer will be sewn to the fabric and you will be forced to leave it on the finished project or have to cut around each flower to remove the stabilizer. |

SERGING 101When you first remove your new serger from the box it will already be threaded for four thread sewing. Simply plug it in and raise the thread guide to begin. Although there are many functions that your new serger will afford you, following are three settings that I promised to share with you from my live presentations on April 16th.

Hi Darlene LOVE when your on. I also embroider and was wondering where you got the snowmen designs you showed on tv. LOVE THEM!! Please let me know if you can.
You mentioned using a spreader on the upper looper for doing two thread stitches and attaching pearls. First of all, I have no idea what a spreader is. Secondly, I have the Brother 1034D and wonder if I can use just two threads on that. I looked in the manual and couldn’t find anything referring to two thread stitches. Thanks for any advice you can give. Look forward to hearing back from you.
Hi Darlene, I wrote a similar post last month. (1)It is now June 15,but your JUNE BLOG IS STILL NOT UP~~NO JUNE BLOG??? HOPE YOU’RE GOING TO BE ON THIS MONTH?? I REALLY LOVE YOUR SHOWS. I do wish the blogs would be posted 1ST OF MONTH. (2)HSN should let YOU DO THE TALKING! Some of the hosts tend to talk WAY TOO MUCH!!!(about themselves, their exp.,etc.) which is NOT HELPFUL to the viewing audience. YOUR INSTRUCTION & TIPS ARE MOST VALUABLE TO PROSPECTIVE BUYERS. THANKS & GOD BLESS.
I saw on the Singer website that the Quantum XL-6000 was sold on HSN. Will this machine be available anytime in the near future? If not, what about the Futura 350? We need more sewing shows and specials on HSN!

Where is June’s blog? I know you need time to post, but you have never been this late.
Darlene:
I purchased a Euro-Pro computerized sewing machine, model #9101, several years ago. I got it from HSN. Though I do not sew, husband prompted me to get it because he said he would teach me. Needless to say, I still can’t sew(smile). L’m learning, though, slowly but surely.
Where can I get inexpensive service for this machine? The alphebet portion of the embroidery doesn’t work. I was told it maybe a problem with the curcut board. I live in Cleveland, OH.
Thanks, R. Dorfmeyer

Hi, Darlene. I have a 4-thread Euro-Pro Serger that is driving me nuts. I cannot adjust the tension on my serger, and I am in desperate need of help. I have my user’s manual, but it’s not giving me the guidance that I need. Please help.
Hi Darlene
I was just wondering if HSN is going to be coming out with different machines because I have noticed the stock is getting low.
Just wondering. I have purchased a number of machines from HSN and never had a problem
.
Hey from Texas!
I just bought the Brother HE-240, and while I’m waiting, I’m already studying the manual (downloaded it off Brother’s website!)… I’ve sewn since my 20’s, have a good regular sewing machine and a serger now, but am anxious to make embroidered pieces for my first grandchild!
Can you post one or two of those free websites for embroidery patterns? I’m hesitant to search too freely because of viruses!
Love to watch you and all your demonstrations! You ARE SO INSPIRING!
Hi Darlene, I was watching you with the Brother embroidery machine yesterday. I would like instructions on embroidering towels. You said something about the stabilizer and the hoop. Can you please advise on what type of stabilizer and the instructions on embroidering towels? Thank you so much. Gerry S.
Darlene: You showed the circular presser foot and I have looked everywhere to purchase it. Will you bring it to HSN for purchasing.
Hi Darlene,
Over the past year and a-half I’ve purchased the Singer Heavy Duty Professional machine, the Brother Embroidery & Sewing machine and the Singer Futura 250 Embroidery & Sewing machine. I love all of them and I use all of them. I’ve become an embroidery nut – ordered a few of the embroidery magazines & trying to learn as much as I can. Do you think HSN might offer one of the adaptable hoops like Magna Hoop or Hoop It All in the future? That would be wonderful! Thanks!
Hi Darlene,
I enjoy the information you give to us.. The Yellow Circle Bag, i would like the measurements to make it Please??? I have a furuta 2000 1974 singer 1st. it still works learn how to so in HOME Ecomomics classes When The Boys Mens made jewerly Boxes..(Smile). Haven’t been sewing IN YEAR’S About 7′yrs Have HSN’S Latest 250 usb port computer. I would like to know how to purchase the Serger Foot for the Futura CE-250. Could I use the Foot With The Bar Across the top for circle
Teresa in CA, On your ‘Needle Down’ function, it really depends on if you really depend on it. If you do, then you will miss it. I use mechanical machines and my Brother PC420 PRW, which I love, love, love, and has the needle down and way more features than the Singers offered; you will just have to watch the video. The machines are similar in price. It sews like a dream and is my main machine of 13 antique and modern machines.
Darlene,
I just received my Singer ATHENA which you reviewed on HSN, and before it arrived I learned that it does not have ‘needle down’, which I have relied on alot in my sewing experience. I have 30 days to review it, but, how much do you think I will miss ‘needle down’, and why oh why didn’t they add this useful function?????? thanks!
Hi Darlene, enjoy watching your shows. You kinda mentioned a new presser foot on air and also mentioned it in your blog here. The flower foot is it avaiable yet? I wrote singer but no reply. If so will it work on my futura 150 machine?
You can obtain a complete manual for the Singer Quantum Serger on the Singer website.
Just go to the section where it describes the Quantum and dowload the PDF file for your reference.
I missed out on purchase these 2 machines the stylist & serger. I hope that you will offer
these two products again. Soon.
I’ve had my Singer futura ce-100 for about 2yrs now and I get this pit in my stomach every time I get ready to use it because when I got it I never got any help nor could I find any help as to how to use the embory part of this machine, but downloading the patterns and transferring them from the computer etc.there is nothing. Help please, also, I watch you on tv and I would like to know if you have a book or some kind of directions on the things a projects you do. Please help!
I bought an SES1000 at Thanksgiving. I’m really enjoying it, but it’s hard to find information on it. Is it true that it’s HSN’s version of the CE150? If so, that would help in searches. Can you give me the measurements of the hoops? Can I get a bigger one to fit the machine? Thank you.
you had said you would give the site to download the quantum serger 5-4-3-2 manual!please help! can’t thread the machine!
