Road Trip!
I am all packed up, the car is full of gas and my compass is set for due west. First stop, Quartzsite, AZ. For those of you that don’t know Quartzsite has been a favorite place for rock hounds since the 1960’s. The show in Quartzsite opens at the beginning of January and runs all the way thru February. The town of Quartzsite expands from a population of 3,397 (this is what the census of 2006 said) to a town of 10’s of 1,000’s. There are only a handful of hotels in Quartzsite, so a lot of visitors bring their RV’s. There are acres of tents to shop from, with tons of goods for sale. This is the first stop for a lot of the international vendors, I have already heard from several of our vendors that arrived just before the New Year, so that they could have their area set up and ready to go for the opening of the show on January 4th. I absolutely love going out and meeting with all of our miners. I love hearing all about the mining experiences from the previous season. I usually get lucky and if someone is actively mining nearby, I get to take a side trip to visit where they are gathering rough, while it is happening, I even get to participate and that is my favorite thing to do; mining is “hard” work.
Once I finish all of my root’n and snoop’n in Quartzsite, I repack the car, fill it with gas and point my compass due east and head into Tucson. People ask me every year, “Don’t you get sick of going to Tucson?” and every year I give them the same answer, “No way, I look forward to Tucson all year long – Tucson is my favorite ‘holiday’.” My excitement and anticipation is building and I can’t wait to see what bountiful treasures I will find this year. I get so many design ideas and inspirations that I cannot wait to put into motion, so that I can bring them to you.
I will share my adventure with you in February both here in the blog and during the show Valentines weekend. I will take plenty of pictures, both rolling and still.
Safe travels to all. J

Jay I am an October baby and would love to see more unusual opals.
I am brokenhearted. Jay, yesterday for the first time I wore your beautiful turquoise (round) hoop earrings. I admired them several times yesterday when looking in the mirror and was really happy I made the purchase. When I was taking them off last night one dropped to the bathroom counter and broke into four pieces. I am just sick about this since it was the first time I had worn them. Isn’t there something you can do to make these stronger? I paid $60 for them and now I have only one.
Jay, purhcased your multi turquoise necklace item 397112 back in Nov and wondered where the turquoise was from. I went back to website and video, but no mention of where it was mined. I really would be interested in finding out. Thanks
Purchased my favorite Turquoise SS Hoop Earrings (item 381-088) and noticed a hairline crack in one. Unfortunately it finally broke apart. Can I send these back to your office in Albuquerque?
Dear Jay, I wish I could express how much I love and appreciate all of you work and designs. My father, who has passed about 10 years ago, was a big rockhound. He got me interested and took me different places looking for rocks, etc. You have become the next best thing for me. You help me remember my father and all the things he loved.A lot of your pieces I buy because Daddy left me specimens of them. I love you and what you do. Do you ever take other rockhounds with you? Love, Sharyn
Hi Jay, I’ve tried to get the pillow shaped turquoise with round amethyst bead earrings a few times but missed out. That includes two times on a waitlist! Will you be offering them again in future? I can’t wait for Valentine’s Day; my husband has some Mine Finds treasures for me!
Did I hear you say you trip a bit in Oklahoma? Love your beauties – everything is unique! Just purchased your white opal necklace. Oh my gosh what a beauty! Do you ever mine anything in Oklahoma? Please keep everything coming in Jay as I long to see another mine find. Will be waiting for your Valentine’s day breathtakers…. V-Yukon
I have your turquoise and cultured pearl inlay pendent item #461-884. Would you please bring back some earrings. When we ordered this in Dec-Jan there were no earrings available and with the price of this pendent we should be able to purchase matching earrings. Your work is great.
Thanks for the quality of your jewlery
I love Jay King and the mine finds, would like to be able to contact them to get ear-rings to match some of my necklaces.
Hello,
To anyone and everyone who wants a turquoise bowl, there was one offered as of this morning on the Jay King pages, I cannot remember which page, but it was there! Good luck to all who are wishing one!
Jay, I always seem to miss the bowls you have offered in the past year. I work 60+ hours a day and need to know when they will be back so I can prepare or pre-order. Help!
Hi Jay — Just wondering if your HSN 375-301 Turquoise & Biwa Pearl 3-strand necklace with the sterling end caps is strung on wire, or knotted silk thread? I know most of your other necklaces are strung on wire, but I was not sure on this one. Thanks for your reply. ~Nancy
Hi Jay – I love the beautiful things you bring us on HSN – I was wondering if those beautiful turquoise bowls are available anymore.
Hi Jay,
Love your jewlery. Do you find pink opal. I have a few pieces and sre looking for some more but don’t see it very much.
Hi Jay: I have maybe a hundred of your pieces. I love the weight and the craftsmanship. Especially Turquoise and Veriscite. Many of them I have had to wait for on the wait list and was very glad to get them when they were finally available.
When can we order the beautiful triangular turquoise pendant with the multiple brown leather cord necklace shown next to your picture on the hsn web site? I’ve been looking for months for it and it’s never available. Did I miss it?

Hello Jay!
I really enjoy watching to see what beautiful surprises you will have for us next! I am hoping you will offer some ribbon turquoise pieces soon. I missed out on some before because I kind of fell in love with it a little too late. Can you please bring some ribbon turquoise to the table? Thanks and happy mining!
Hi Jay
Will you have Gallery Piece in your next Visit? I pick up 9 piece’s from your last show
But the Anhui Turquoise inlay the gallery piece, Superb top of the line Drop Dead Gorgeous when i saw it I didnt even care what it cost. Bring more piece’s like your gallery piece’s
all of us would by them. Thank you
Jay I love your jewelry. Please give us some lever-backs on some of the earrings, and some variety in the closures. I love the silverwork,…..more, more, more! And how about some more orange coral. Thanks. Looking forward to your next visit.
Hi Jay, I love your jewelry but I’m not really a beaded necklace sort of girl. I prefer the pendants. Would there be a time in the future when we could purchase the pendant portion alone?
Please make more pendants as enhancers so we can put them on different chains or nuggets necklaces, pearl necklaces.I have both sizes in turquoise bowls;waiting for your lapis one(s)to come!I put them in my china cabinet with your necklaces draped out of them….Have you thought of making bowls of different stones mixed together?? Also, can you consider changing the hook on the back of necklaces to have a small ball at the end so they don’t dig into the neck like sharp knives. Thanks!
Hi Jay, absolutely love your jewerly! I was very excited about your 5strand garnet necklace that i was on waitlist for. When it came i was so pleased with how beautiful it is but unforunately with my back and neck issues, it was far too heavy. I’m very bummed about sending it back and feel it is hard to find this color garnet and in this design. Any chance you will make a lighter version, maybe half the weight?
trish
HI Jay, I have your rainbow calsilica ring and love it. MY husband bought me a pendant and earings a while ago and from a trip he was on and those stones do not have the high polish that yours does. You always say that hand polishing is the best. Is there a way I can hand polish them myself? I would love some instructions. Thanks, Karen in WI.
Hey Jay,
Just checking to see about your bowl designs. I guess I just keep missing them when you have had them for sale. Will there be anymore turquoise large and small bowls. I collect all types of bowls: exotic wood, and gem.
When do you anticipate these to be available again?? I will be so disappointed if I miss them yet again.
Thanks,
Tanya
I have purchased several of your necklaces and bracelets and am never disappointed! Even if I don’t plan to purchase I watch your show because I learn so much.
Jay,
I have over 70 pieces of your jewelry and love it. About two and half months ago I sent a necklace to you that one of many strands broke. I heard from your lovely person in your company (I didn’t write her name down) and she said that I would get back the necklace either fixed or if they couldn’t fix it they would send the beads back. I still haven’t gotten either. Would you please look into it and get back to me.
Thanks, Sharon
