Road Trip!
I am all packed up, the car is full of gas and my compass is set for due west. First stop, Quartzsite, AZ. For those of you that don’t know Quartzsite has been a favorite place for rock hounds since the 1960’s. The show in Quartzsite opens at the beginning of January and runs all the way thru February. The town of Quartzsite expands from a population of 3,397 (this is what the census of 2006 said) to a town of 10’s of 1,000’s. There are only a handful of hotels in Quartzsite, so a lot of visitors bring their RV’s. There are acres of tents to shop from, with tons of goods for sale. This is the first stop for a lot of the international vendors, I have already heard from several of our vendors that arrived just before the New Year, so that they could have their area set up and ready to go for the opening of the show on January 4th. I absolutely love going out and meeting with all of our miners. I love hearing all about the mining experiences from the previous season. I usually get lucky and if someone is actively mining nearby, I get to take a side trip to visit where they are gathering rough, while it is happening, I even get to participate and that is my favorite thing to do; mining is “hard” work.
Once I finish all of my root’n and snoop’n in Quartzsite, I repack the car, fill it with gas and point my compass due east and head into Tucson. People ask me every year, “Don’t you get sick of going to Tucson?” and every year I give them the same answer, “No way, I look forward to Tucson all year long – Tucson is my favorite ‘holiday’.” My excitement and anticipation is building and I can’t wait to see what bountiful treasures I will find this year. I get so many design ideas and inspirations that I cannot wait to put into motion, so that I can bring them to you.
I will share my adventure with you in February both here in the blog and during the show Valentines weekend. I will take plenty of pictures, both rolling and still.
Safe travels to all. J

Hi Jay,
Just dropping you a line to request more men’s jewelry. I’ve always been facinated with turquoise, coral, and most of your other gemstones. I’m hoping one day you’ll be able to design more men’s ring’s, pendant’s, bracelet’s, necklesses, etc. I actually like more of the big and bolder design’s, being a larger man myself. I hope to see something very soon, thanks.

Jay, I buy a lot of your jewelry, more rose quartz, please!! I have some of your turquoise too. I’m very picky about turquoise jewelry, buy a lot of it in Tucson, this being the first year in awhile I haven’t gone to the show, went to SanDiego instead. Could you please specify when on the air which turquoise pieces are made with USA turquoise? I kind of prefer buying USA products when possible.
I love all of your jewelry but I was hoping that maybe your earrings could come with leverbacks intead of the frech wires. I always loose at least one of your precious earrings when they are french wires but the leverbacks stay on forever. Thanks
Jay I just purchased your purple bead & heart necklace and I just love it!!
I also have a turquois necklace from you.
I love the fact that you make it so easy for me to get the necklaces on & off with those big hooks with the darling little puffed heart at the end!
I just wish you would make another small beaded orange coral necklace again. I missed out on one before & I don’t like big chunky necklaces so please see what you can do ok?
thank you
Linda H.
Hi Jay,
I bought one of your beautiful turquoise rings for my father and he LOVED it! Can you please make more rings for men in sizes 14 and above?
Jay I purchased your lapis and blue lace agate long necklace, as well as the matching ring. I love them but would love to get my hands on the matching earrings. It sold out and I have been waiting patiently. Will you have these again? Please reply at your convenience.
Hi again Jay! Have you created a necklace with both blue and green turquoise and amethyst. Or just green turquoise and amethyst? I think the vibrant shade of your green turquoise would look amazing with amethyst!
Hi Jay.I lived in Kingman from 1970 till 1989. Had a beauty salon there. I’ve heard of Marty, but don’t know if I’ve met him or not. (It used to be a small town). Now living in Tucson and think I heard you mention something about Colorado once. I have lived in Leadville and Cortez. Would love to run into you sometime so I could tell you in person how much I love your jewelry. Keep it coming!!!
Jay, thanks for all you do and the awesome things you bring us. I do have a request,I purchased your calsillica necklace and love it of course. I really, really, really need some earrings to go with it(not too heavy). Please make some if you can so I will be totally put together when I wear you beautiful necklace. Thanking you in advance
HI JAY. I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES TO GET YOUR TURQUOISE BOWL LAST TIME IT WAS OFFERED. COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE THE TURQUOISE WAS MINED FROM. THANKS! CANDY
J, love all you create. Pls make all necklaces longer, or with extensions, so we can wear them over big t-neck sweaters, etc. Also, pls consider using the rough nuggets in pieces, as I love them when you show them on air. Can’t wait for lapis bowls! Gia

Hello Jay King,
Please bring us ENHANCER PENDANTS of your beautiful stones.
Thank you so much,

I don’t have any comments. I wish you would have some clip earrings, please. Love your jewelry and have many pieces, but would love earrings. Leeanne
Hi Jay, if you were the one to bring the rain, you need to visit often. This summer I purchased the wide men’s turquoise bracelet. (The one that you said was designed from your own.) The last repo you said was made with Sleeping Beauty – but this last version was constructed of a beautiful Kingman turq. I was still paying it off on Flex pay when I noticed that one of the stones was cracked. HSN said they could not help me. I need help with this repair. Thanks.
Jay, I love all the pieces that I ordered from you,but I have an issue with the clasps! The clasps are not stong enough for the necklaces and the macnetic clasp on the turgoise braclate did not work! The braclete kept falling off! Please make the silver clasps on the necklaces stronger! I love my turgoise braclate, but I can not wear it as the magnet does not work !
Hi jay
Just wanted to drop you a line or two. I’m a very big fan,and now my sister-in-law is into your jewelry as well. I lost count of how many of your pieces I have a long time ago. Nothing but praise from me,can’t wait for your next show,of course I always go on line a few days earlier. I’m a big turquoise collector!
Hi Jay, Love your jewelry, wish I could buy more. You’ve probably answered this before, but a friend of mine told me you were from Eureka, Ks.? I was of course wondering because thats where I live. Keep bringing you pretties!
Hi Jay; I am still seeking the bowls…..Turquoise, Lapis and if you have one in Amethyst…..Just tell me th eprice I have been holding off on any more purchases saving for the bowls…..Please put me on a wait list for them……If there is a limit of course Turquoise. Seems like I have been waiting forever for one….just missed the first order by a few hours…….Love everything you have…..
I was born in October so anything pink I buy. Pink is my favorite color. I was browsing your new arrivals and I saw the pink calcite necklace, which I am going to have get. Are you going to make a pink calcite ring? I love rings and a pink calcite ring to go with the necklace would be great.
Need a turquoise or lapis bowl or one of each–PLEASE
Hi Jay.I was so disappointed to find out that your Petrified Cypress Wood Pendant w/Beaded
Necklace, H.S.N. Item #380-471, which I was on the Waitlist for for the 3rd time, was cancelled today. I have been waiting for this beautiful Necklace since June or July of last year—2009! Please let me know if there is any hope that this beautiful Necklace will be available again in the near future. I love your jewelry! Be safe in all of your travels, Jay.
Hi Jay, wondering if you can make charms for a charm bracelet from leftover gems?
