Rarities Holiday Collection: Inspired by Gratitude, Love, Belief and Faith

Submitted by Carol Brodie on December 16, 2011 – 5:17 PM37 Comments

Tune in Sunday, December 18 from 2 – 5pm and Monday, December 19 from 9:00 – 10am

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone (both old and new friends), as well as those of you who may just be learning about Rarities Fine Jewelry and me.

When I think about the holiday season, what comes to my mind is gratitude. When I realize how truly fortunate I am to have my parents, siblings and children, along with my beloved friends, and all of you, the essence of the season sparkles with humility, gratefulness and admiration.

This year, the childhood verse that I often repeated as a young girl resonates with me now more than ever: “Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other is gold.” So whether you are silver or gold, diamond, emerald, ruby or sapphire, thank you for taking a moment to accept my gratitude.  The December Rarities collection features designs and jewels inspired by a season of love, thankfulness, belief and faith.

P.S. Here are my fail-proof holiday tips to get you through any jewelry pinch:

  • Safety pins from my dry cleaning are the best fix. They are tiny and work great in a pinch if a clasp is broken. The safety pin is also great for getting out knots in a chain. Necklace too long and you need a 15 inch choker to complete your holiday look? Use the safety pin to shorten to your preferred length.
  • Gold foil from a champagne cap is great in a pinch if a ring is too big. Wrap foil around band like I do for celebrities who lose weight before award shows and their borrowed rings are too big for their finger.
  • Desperate to wear a pierced omega back earring and either your hole has closed or you don’t have pierced ears? Clip-off the post; it can always be professionally put back on.
  • Lost your favorite earring? Put the other on a chain and wear it as a necklace.
  • Need a short necklace for a 50’s look and you only have a long strand? Gently twist the necklace and use a brooch to secure the two ends. Wear the brooch in the middle for a more modern style or on the collarbone for a glamorous look.

I love you evil eye things but i havent been able to buy what i want. The reason being you dont have size 12 or 13 or 15 rings and i havent seen a evil eye or hamsa neckles in a 24 or 26 . thank you.

Carol I purchased the beautiful evil eye bracelet in blue topaz. You are completely correct it does not turn over! I wear it everyday. I absoulutely love it. I was wondering if you were bringing back the evil eye locket? Currently its waitlist only. I love how it hangs North to South rather than East to West. I love your jewelry designs. Cannot wait for my next purchase. Keep up the great work!

Quartz has an amazing history because the rough has been around for thousands of years. Fine quartz is transparent, which means the light passes through the stone. The nature of all quartzes is white and …

Hi Carol, one of the pieces I purchased from you was the Hamsa Necklace. I love it; however, the chain does not have a finishing link to hook the clasp in. Is my particular necklace missing this piece? Sometimes it is hard to get it clasped into the smaller links. All of the other pieces I have bought which have been many have been beautiful. thanks Tere

    Hi Carol,
I really loved the onyx bracelet with diamond cross. Unfortunatelly, it was too small for my wrist. I wonder if it would be possible for you to bring it back in a bigger size. I really love the design. Thank you and I wish you the best of everything in the New Year.

    Hi Carol,
I just received the blue topaz and black spinel ring…AMAZING! I would LOVE a matching pendant (small and simple) and perhaps drop earrings. It’s really gorgeous. I am super excited about February’s shows and can’t wait to see your TS. I’m sure I’ll be buying that and many more items next month. Thanks for writing me back, I can’t wait to see your interpretation of the OM. You have a fan for life with me!
    xoxo Melissa

    Hi Carol,

Your jewelery is beautiful. Have yet purchase a piece but I know I will. You made a beautiful braclet with a cool cross with diamonds. I unfortunately don’t wear crosses if ever could you think about a cool Jewish star or even a heart. I love all the heart you put into your jewelery. So meaningful. Thanks for or your georgeous products.

    Gayle

    • Carol Brodie says:

      Hi Gayle,
Thanks for your message. I did the same cross bracelet in an elongated Jewish star as well… it is one of my favorites. It has sold out… but there are some wonderful new and meaningful bracelets arriving every month on HSN.com and I will present them every month on HSN. Please tune in on Feb. 2nd for my TS… it is an item of jewelry that every woman can wear and LOVE every day. Hope to see you then — lots of gratitude. xo

  • meli1234 says:

    Hi Carol,
I really enjoyed the show today. I’m glad you saw and read my review on the rose de france heart pendant, it’s so beautiful and everyone should know! I’m hoping you can give us a hint as to what the TS will be in February. I hope to see those new shamballa’s soon and also hope that you will make an OM pendant as well. I love watching your shows and adding something new to my collection each month. Keep up the amazing work! xoxo Melissa

    • Carol Brodie says:

Good Morning… I love your review and definitely wanted to share it. That heart is insane… The new TS will look lovely with many of my Rarities and it is surely a signature look for me… you know how much I love to frame my face with sparkle. More Shamballa’s are coming and I will work on OM for summertime. Thank you for all of your love and support. Hope 2012 is your most beautiful year ever. xoxo

    Hi Carol!
I am in love, love, love with Rarities. I have been a customer for a couple of years, and have over 30 pieces. I have been dreaming of some pieces with gemstones surrounded by black stones and was absolutely delighted to see your new pieces that debuted today! GORGEOUS!! You are amazing!!
    Nicole

  • Carol, I just finished watching the 3 hour show today and added 2 more of your pieces to my collection. Of all the jewelry I own, my favorite pieces are from your collection. When I wear your pieces, people stop me all day long to ask me about the jewelry I’m wearing. I am in outside sales and meet people all day long. Your jewelry is a great conversation starter, and it also makes me look great. Today, I purchased the black spinel/ruby marquis ring and the black onyx/red jade necklace. Luv U!

    • Carol Brodie says:

You are going to make a huge impression in the powerful and impactful red and black jewels. You are my very best advertising… the women who wear Rarities and talk it up are my VIP’s and I owe the success of Rarities to YOU! I hope you enjoyed the shows yesterday… I have a huge February TS coming on February 2nd and even more on February 5th. I hope that you will join me then on HSN. Have a sparkling and gorgeous New Year. xox

Please consider putting extenders on your necklaces. The 18″ is not for everyone.I for one would love the versatility an extender offers.

  • Carol- Hello! I just ordered my third piece from you and you have done it again!! I lOVE evrything…I love following on Facebook and here on HSN. • dengyu says:

    Hi Carol,
I really admire you and the beautiful jewelry you create for us. I am not on face book so this is the only way I can reach you. One month ago, I ordered the item 103144 which is the blue topaz and diamond pendant with chain. But they made the mistake and sent me the wrong item. And after that, the pendant I want was sold out! I am so mad and sad! Will you still bring this item in? Or do you have one extra of these? If you can find one for me, I ‘ll really appreciate! Thanks a lot!!!

    Hi Carol,

    Thank you,

    Hi Carol

I am new to your jewelry line and to HSN. My 1st purchase a month ago was the blk spinel evil eye with the bracelet and i love it and i just came back for your evil eye ring and it is awesome. You r so right the evil eye needs to protect us and it now needs to be worn everyday because i do see alot of haters out there…lol I am a stay at home mom and miss working in NYC and seeing all the glamour but when i watch u and wear your jewelry it makes me happy n back in NY. Thanks :)

  • meli1234 says:

    Hi Carol,
It was so awesome getting to talk to you on Sunday! My kids were so excited too! I feel that you are such a wonderful person far beyond what you do with your jewelry line. I’ve been meaning to ask you if you’ve considered doing anything with an OM? I know you love spiritual symbols and I think it would be a great addition to the collection. Let me know what you think and I am looking forward to seeing what new things you have for 2012. xoxo Melissa

  • Hi Carol, I’m fairly new to your jewelry, and wishing I could buy everything! I have the black spinel dome ring & LOVE IT. I purchased my first evil eye, moonstone & dia bracelet. I’ve been longing for 1 of your ArtDeco(tattoo)rings. Diamonds are a bit out of my budget right now & I’m worried by the time I can buy, they’ll be sold out! Wondering about this same design in black spinel & white zircon? Maybe more in my $ range. Also bring more tattoo bracelets. Many Blessings, Kristin. Seattle, WA

  • SUNCHICK says:

Carol, I enjoyed watching your show today and be able to watch the entire presentation of your pieces. Now I am really loving the Rarities: Fine Jewelry with Carol Brodie Black Spinel and Gemstone Sterling Silver 48″ Necklace that you spoke of in the previous blog.

  • CHERRYBELLY says:

Thank you Carol for all your beautiful pieces. I’ve found that since you have been on hsn, my tastes have become discriminate, where I would rather save up for one amazing piece of jewelry with meaning than several less expensive pieces. That said over the past year I’ve found that the malachite ring set in vermeil goes perfectly with a goldtone malachite color necklace from Curations. Whenever I wear both pieces together everyone asks me if it is a set. I also love your evil eye pieces.

    • Carol Brodie says:

Here is the perfect way to make those pieces come together in the the most gorgeous set anywhere. I hope you can get these home before they sell out. You will be soooo excited. Rarities: Fine Jewelry with Carol Brodie Gemstone and White Zircon Drop Earrings Item: 157-750 Use flex pay and I hope that you will be able to try them on and fall in love again with Rarities. I love hearing from you… stay in touch. xoxo

  • GenerosaM says:

    Hi Carol,

I really appreciate your evil eye jewelry. I have been making hand bags with evil eyes for several years now and I truly believe they work, the water cooler haters inspired me too. The more successful you are the more they come around. As a Brownie, gold and silver friends is something I live by. I am writing today to ask you if you can please make a 18k gold evil eye ring, I really really am looking for one with a ruby or emerald. Thank you for considering this. – fingers crossed

    • Carol Brodie says:

Thank you so much for your message. At this time, 18k gold is very expensive and I would not be able to stock 18k — it is more of a trunk show or one-of-a-kind piece. Perhaps you may be better off having the ring of your dreams made for you exactly the way you want it. I wish I could do it… but I know you will get exactly what you want if you have one created just for you. Thanks so much for the amazing suggestion. xoxo

  • meli1234 says:

    Hi Carol,
Thank you for writing me back. I’m not on facebook so this is the only way I can reach you :) Since you don’t have anything in the works to coordinate with my ring I went ahead and ordered your rose de france drop earrings in silver. I’ve always admired them and don’t mind mixing gold and silver. I’m looking forward to Sunday’s shows and will try to call in to say hello to you. I really admire you and the beautiful things you create for us. xoxo Melissa
