New Inspirations
I found myself in creative meetings and reaching back to the summer for some inspiration. In August I stayed with friends on Patmos, Greece. I was so inspired by the creativity of the people there and the peaceful passing of the days at sea on a little fishing boat. One day, anchored in an otherwise deserted cove, I saw a woman wearing a wide brimmed straw hat, in a tiny wooden boat painted brown, red, and blue. The colors were beautiful against the turquoise water and the sky. It occurred to me that I could have been looking at this exact same setting fifty years ago. It made me think of how simple, good, handcrafted design remains timeless; something I strive for every season when I create my new collection. Then I was off (via a very bumpy boat ride) to Naples, where Signore Palladino, a taxi driver and guide, took me and two of my good friends from NY, to see what seemed like every church, palace and architecturally important private homes in and around the city. What an amazing place, Naples. I took photos of everything, and am using many of them to inspire color combinations for the home, such as a building painted pale yellow with white trim and deep grey shutters…look for that in my new bedding…
Now, as fall settles in, I’m happy to be home, both in NY and in Chicago, to spend time with those closest to me, my dogs, and have my favorite Thai food (hard to find 300 miles off the coast of Italy, but the almond pesto made up for it. Highly recommended!!!).
There’s something about gathering and organizing and focusing all that I’ve seen, and the memories of a beautiful trip as I sit and meet with my team that still puts a smile on my face and makes me feel recharged.

I love to hear your voice. I have since you first came on the Oprah show and am delighted that you have your own show. I just purchased the “ocean green” solid sheet set and a set of the ocean green set of leopard pillow cases for contrast. I really love the watercolor pillows, and would love to have them in a smaller size. Like, one large, the size you have and one smaller. I know I can make one smaller, but I don’t want to. I want you to do that. Thanks

Hi Nate – several months back I ordered your snow leopard sheets and the ocean blue to use in combination with each other. love them! but I need a matching duvet – I should have ordered the one you had on that night but you sold out. I keep checking the website but it hasn’t been back. what I do see is a bit too plain – need something with some texture – not so much patterns and not too masculine. its difficult to find something that matches snow leopard – something light – please!

Many thanks Nate on your attention to detail that is unsurpassed! I purchased sheets from your *first* airing and have since purchased additional sets (very much on the plural side)in an array of colors!
My only problem is that after washing the sheets, they never feel as soft as when they were new! When I put them on the bed, they feel rough, but after sleeping on them for a couple of nights they soften up. I do at times use fabric softer in the wash ~ tried it without, same problem. Advise?
Hi Nate I’m looking for some suggestions on a new foreclose house I purchased for less than $8000 north of Detroit. I had to moved from a 950 sq ft apt to a less that 700 sq ft house with challenges. i was hoping for a Nate total transformation for your new and upcoming show. i tell you I have some challenges that would woo any audience. ex: one being a HDTV. that would spin from the living room to the bed room with a simple twist. both the bedroom and living room share the same wall. HELP

Your floral print comforters, please consider making them in a bedspread, possibly with shams. It is extremely hard to find bedspreads, and I am sure I am not the only person who would appreciate not having to deal with a dust ruffle.

Hi Nate…I’ve been a fan of yours from the time I first saw you on Oprah. You are a truly creative, giving, and awesome person and you produce and provide quality products that the average customer can afford. I do have a request…could you please introduce a line of bedding for daybeds. This is a very difficult item to find. I’ve tried the stores and the internet; however, they are either too expensive or the selection isn’t that great. Thank you and keep the products coming.

Hi Nate I’m so looking forward to your next visit on HSN. I have numerous sets of your sheets, candles etc. As I mentioned I love your sheets but I have to let you know that I’m having problems with the color now bleeding. You mentioned that your sheets do not lose their colors well mine are, my tourquis sheets now have areas that faded and actually looks like a light yellow coming through, this is occurring on all my sheets in colors and I wash them in cold water and no bleach. I am on a very tight budget and would be wonderful if you could share some ideas for decorating at an affordable cost, do you have such an website. I wish I could hire you to do a complete decorating job for my home, but that is definitely not an option!

I just wanted to say I LOVE the quality of your items. I have 2 sets of your bathscape and your showercurtain in my bathroom and i love it so much. I like quality items and was worried about it since you can not really tell from tv but wow. very nice and upscale. better than fave store (WSHOME)! Also bought 1 of your tablescapes and was so please. please bring more of these to hsn. also wondering if you would be doing any bedding sets in more neutral colors. Keep up the great work:)
