Memories of Past, Present & Future Summers
The summer travel season has officially begun! I don’t know about you, but I always get slightly nostalgic at this time for my family vacations of summer’s past. The Brown’s were road-trippers and the good, old-fashioned, all-American road trip is a part of my intrinsic wheel house like no other travel experience. Once a summer we would load up in our Pontiac station wagon – my sisters Kirstin and Katy as well as Gidget, our beloved Doberman Pinser rescue, who still had her floppy ears and tail. My mom would pack the cooler and we would drive 8 hours to Pennsylvania to see the relatives filling up on bologna and cheese sandwiches and Juicy Juice. We would play games like “Punch Buggy” and “I Spy” and annoy our father with our small-girl bladders and their constant demands. It was bliss. And even though I now fly mostly first class and stay in beautiful hotels around the world, one of my favorite memories is the excitement of pulling up to a Motor Lodge with a “Color TV” sign out front. If the hotel also by chance had a kidney shaped pool-well my sisters and I might as well have been staying at the Taj Mahal.
I bring up my own childhood experiences because I recently moderated a panel discussion on the state of the American family. A child psychologist talked about how vital summer vacations are for making memories; and that memories alone are the building blocks that help children form a stronger bond with their parents, grandparents and siblings. It’s where time isn’t as structured, where ice cream is for dinner and they see their parents behave like kids themselves. Even though it has been a long time that any of us have been children, I find that a summer vacation definitely gives me the light-hearted feeling of being a kid again. A kid with my own money who doesn’t have to share her candy with her sisters, that is.
Now summer has a new wonderful memory for me and that is it’s my Anniversary with HSN. It was a year ago that I first went on-air to introduce my first-ever line of luggage. I wanted to design luggage that was not only resilient and put ease back into travel, but that was so beautiful it would inspire you to get out there and go! We introduced colors that didn’t exist in a world dominated by black luggage. Sapphire blue, Emerald green, Ruby red, lilac and even yellow! It’s luggage that sets you apart and puts a smile on your face. It’s also luggage that just can’t possibly sit in your closet for long. It needs to get out there, to discover and see the world and help you make wonderful and lasting memories. Thank you so much for making my memories of my first year at HSN a very special one.
Now, last one in the pool is a rotten egg!

I have ordered a TON of your luggage and just love it! My husband too is a true fan as even checking in First Class on British Airways, the attendant said that she had never seen such beautiful luggage – and we KNOW what great luggage she has seen! Anyway, only one small issue is one of the end caps on the tube from the doctor’s tote came off…..someone also mentioned this same issue in an earlier post…is there any way to get a replacement? Would happily pay for all costs.
I have all your luggage pieces and love them, however please the 28 inch is too big and the 21 inch is not enough. make us a 24-25 inch suitcase!!!!! I travel all over the world and 28 inches is too big for their little taxis and taking two suitcases just is not good. I have navy and love it so much and everyone comments on how beuatiful my luggage is. Your little extra pockets just make my day.
I wanted to buy your travel organizers, but they are not longer offered on HSN. I hope this means you will be bringing us something even better–compression bags, maybe? Please bring those travel organizers back!
Greetings Samantha. I love, love, love the fun colors of your luggage. I bought the yellow set (2 piece carry-on and the 28″ upright with spinners). Then, I bought a set of the carry-on in Aqua for my sister. She loves it so much and wants the 28″ piece in Aqua, but it is currently sold out in that color. Are you going to offer this piece again in the Aqua? If so, please let us know. Thanks for all of your travel advice, as it makes traveling a pleasure.

I ordered your upright and doctors tote in March. Just ordered the larger matching piece. I LOVE it! It was like I was dancing with my luggage. It followed my every step! I have since used my luggage a few more times and ALWAYS get compliments. I have the navy and brown and feel very chic whenever I walk with it.
Question:On my first trip, the end “cap” of one of the tubes at the top of the doctors bag came off. How can I get a replacement? One end is open. Thanks!

Hi Samantha, I’m a flight attendant & I absolutely love your luggage. I use it when I travel for pleasure. I wish soo much to use it at work. We are required to use Travelpro black suitcases. I purchased the suitcase & doctor’s tote in purple. My fellow crewmembers comment on it when I fly somewhere for fun not. They all want it too. I love the tote especially that zipper pocket for your ID & tickets. It’s awesome with my 1 & 3 yr old running around. We don’t lose our tickets now. Thks!!!!!

My wife purchased the “Upright and Doctor’s Tote” in Nov 2011 and loves them but we noticed on the show today that the Doctor’s Tote had a shoulder strap.
When we received our shipment the strap was missing and I remember commenting at that time that there should be one. But we didn’t think to check the web listing to see if there was suppose to be one in the shipment.
Is there anyway to get one now???

Hi Samantha, I ordered the Cabin and Tote last week and it came today. I absolutely love it. I am a retired flight attendant and if only we had these while I was flying.. Samantha, PLEASE bring the doctors bag and medium upright back!!! I regret not ordering it for myself when I had the chance! Would it be wrong to take back the set I bought for my daughter’s Christmas gift last year??!! (KIDDING) Kind of…… PLEASE bring back the doctors tote set!

Hi Samatha, Caught you shows and loved you luggage. In fact, I bought the whole set. Only issue I see is that there is no warranty. I will wait until I receive the bags. But I am a little concerned.
Yes, please be concerned about no warranty. I’ve requested that Samantha Brown offers a warranty on her luggage, like most manufacturers, because 30 days is not sufficient time to test the durability of luggage. As stated in the previous blog, I used my luggage 3 months after I purchased from HSN and the handle on the doctor’s bag broke in the airport. Another customer had an issue with her luggage too. Unfortunately, since there’s no warranty we’re stuck with a broken luggage piece (useless).

Hi Samantha. I wanted to let you know that I’m in love with your luggage. I bought the doctors tote/21″ set last time you were on, in yellow. I took a train trip out west with it and got many compliments and inquiries as to where I had gotten it. I feel the need to share and have started buying sets as gifts. I also gifted myself with a couple more pieces. I can’t wait to see what you have next time. It’s amazing all the thought you put into each piece with their different functions.
Hello Samantha, I purchased the TS last year and absolutely love it. Have had a million compliments on it. I am requesting that your next Today’s Special be just a GREAT TOTE like the doctor’s bag or the dome tote for those people like my sister who prefers to check all her bags and only carry a tote through the airport. I know that it would be a success because the rest of us would also want one, probably in several colors.
Samantha, I wish you would make a today’s special with the Doctor’s Tote and 21″ upright. I love the green. I tried to order it, but the HSN page said it was sold out. Today when I searched for it, there was no picture of it. Please. These luggages are truly pieces of art, and the bows finishes it completely. Love it.
I’ve missed every show you’ve done, tuning in when every color I wanted was sold out… until now!! I made sure to be up last night when this new set aired, and I’m so happy I did! Love the “top down” packing system, it was just what I was looking for. Thanks so much. Hi Samantha, So glad to see you back at HSN. I do not travel nearly as much as you but when I do I definitely like to pack light (as I can) and use carry-on luggage. Last time you were on HSN you commented on packing for 1-2 weeks using only carry-on luggage and expressed that next time you would share your tips on your blog. I would love to have your tips on packing smart and simple with the least amount of luggage (I really try but still over-pack). Your advice would be so helpful! Thnx
