Martha Stewart Returning to HSN September 13
Hi everyone!
Guess what? I’ve missed being a part of the HSN fun so much that I’m coming back this September 13 at midnight for a supersized Today’s Special!!! I really can’t wait till you see what we’ve got for you this time. It’s the biggest Today’s Special we’ve EVER done and it’s quite amazing.
It’s so big, in fact, that I can’t possibly do it alone. That’s right—Martha’s coming with me!!! I love it when Martha and I get to appear together. We have so much fun sharing our newest ideas with everyone. Personally, at the end of the day I find myself so inspired by Martha that I have a hundred new ideas for the next show! See how the cycle of crafting continues at Martha Stewart Crafts?
I hope you had a spectacular summer; I know I did. I spent some much-needed time away at the beach seeing my friends and family. But hands down, the biggest news for me was the birth of my newest niece, Sarah Lucille, on August 26! She is the most perfect baby, as you can tell from the photos.
I don’t know about you, but I think the birth of a baby has the most far-reaching impact of any family event. So many people’s lives change forever. For years to come, there are the first words and walks to record, birthdays to celebrate, school plays to witness, boo-boos to mend, and milestones to encourage, all as a result of this new baby. All the while, we’re compelled to capture these events so that we never forget, and more importantly, so that we have an outlet to express our love.
That’s why what we do as crafters is so very important. We pour our hearts into our crafts as an expression of our love. We spend our ever-diminishing free time handmaking a gift or a card or maybe even the wrapping around a gift, in the hope that it will somehow show the recipient how much we care. Indeed, we spend countless hours recording and scrapbooking all of those life events solely because of love.
Even now, when I go back and read through my baby book and see every note my mother made about my first giggle, my first smile, my first solid food, my first word (the list is endless, I assure you!), I think of the love my mother had and still has for me. She painstakingly recorded my life, and I can keep it and cherish her love forever.
So welcome, baby Sarah —and thank you, Mom. I love you both more than I can express, although I will never stop trying.
See you all at midnight on September 13!
Alex

What happened to Alex?
AUTO DELIVERY ISSUE!
I have checked with customer services and they are unable to tell me which cartridges come with each AD shipment. Does anyone know? I’m beyond frustrated :(
Here is the AD information,
03/25/2013 FRONDS & DOTTED CARTRIDGE KIT
05/25/2013 CARNIVAL & ARCHES CARTRIDGE KIT
07/25/2013 ROUNDED & LEAF CARTRIDGE KIT
Hope this helps!
Goodtobetink,
Thank you for providing the names of the auto-ship Circle Edge cartridges.
I am on auto-ship for the cartridges and am so frusterated and unhappy that HSN does not keep the video up for the auto-ship on these and other programs.
I think they should keep the video up AT LEAST until the auto ship program completes.
I do not know if anyone from the Martha Stewart or HSN group reads ANY of the comments. It would be great to have some feedback and follow through on the blogs that are supposed to be for communication.
Thanks again for the names.
Ok Alex you said you would show us how to make the Owl – I have the punch I’m ready for the instructions.
Where is the directions to make the angel bag that was featured in September with the MS circle punch and cartridges? Alex said it would be on the blog. That same angel bag was shown today and he once again mentioned it was on the blog….but I can’t find it anywhere. Please post Alex, I and many other really want to make that angel!! Thanks.
I bought the Aster deep edge punch as part of a punch collection that was the Today’s Special. I realize I should have checked it out when it came, but I just tried it and it will not punch. It goes down about halfway and stops. I would like to find out how to send it in to get fixed. I love the things you can make with it! I have purchased many of the Martha Stewart punches and know that all work just wonderfully! Can you help me with getting it repaired? Thanks.
Hi. For all of you waiting for patterns for the angel/Christmas tree-your wait is over. I emailed Martha Stewart Customer Support last week and asked them for these project sheets. They emailed them to me. I replied and asked if they would be posted on the Martha Stewart or HSN website. I just got a reply back – they are now on the HSN website. If you go to the product page for the Martha Stewart Crafts Circle Edge Punch and Cartridges, about 1/3rd down click the More Info tab-they are there.
These directions are confusing. Have you tried them yet?
Sorry – I haven’t had a chance to try these instructions yet. I was surprised that they use multiple different sizes/sheets to make the angel. While I was waiting for a response I found a video on YouTube where someone made a similar angel with 1 size 1 sheet (I think it was 9″) – that is what I tried and it was ok.
OK – I just tried the instructions. The sizes they gave did not look right to me. I got better results using a 9″ circle for the dress and a 7″ circle for the wings. I don’t have vellum so I used a shimmery pink for the wings. Since the dimension are not specific on the exact size to cut I just looked at the picture and tried to make it match as much as possible. Hope that helps!
Arcade, thanks so much for telling where these directions were! Alex said he would put on the blog back in Sept and I have looked several times and couldn’t find. Then today they showed the bag again and he once again mentioned it was on the blog. I looked through the blogs and could not find it. I was quite upset and then saw your post! Thanks so much!! I so want to make this angel.
Still waiting on the round punch
I totally agree! It is very upsetting to be told you would put patterns on the blog and it doesn’t happen. It would be nice if the items we order came with a decent project with it. I have a lot of MS products and the project that comes in the box is never worth making.
Has anyone found the directions for the angel or the christmas tree yet? I am trying to make the tree and I thought I had it but I can’t seem to make it as tight as they have it. Please post it if you have it.
No and I am still waiting also. I am really disappointed since they said they would post the directions. I have ordered several of her punches but don’t think I will anymore. I forget the cute things they make and can’t save the programs for everyone I like. I like the idea someone had of her making a book of the ideas. I know people would be happy to buy it jut for the ideas. Thats one good thing about the Cricut Machine, you can purchase the books!
I ordered the Martha Stewart Crafts™ All-in-One Craft Station and had a devil of a time just opening the blasted box. For the most part, this work station is “ok” but not a “winner” with me. I would like to have seen a place to put the stylis, the x-acto knife, the electrical plug for the light box and other small items stored with the station. Martha, you goofed here. What you could have done was build a plastic box with a drawer and a lucite cover to cover the entire box to contain all the items and plastic sheets all in one. This was NOT as planned out as it should have been. Now, to keep all the utensils and small items, one has to keep it near by and could get lost. I am disappointed that Martha had not thought of this storage problem as she normally thinks every product through pretty well. Possibly if we make a suggestion to this effect, she might take note and rethink a storage for this craft station. Anyone else feel this could be a better designed craft station????
Dear Alex and Martha,
You mentioned that the Angel pattern on the bag would be put on your blog. Waiting…also more info on the Christmas tree would be helpful.
We are waiting for a booklet or magazine to give us more ideas on using the punches…….PLEASE!!! I try to memorize the projects shown on the telecast but that is impossible. Everything is just fantastic!!!! Love your segments. Please help all of us!
It is evident that everyone wants an instruction booklet of some sort on how to use the circle edge punch starter kit and still nothing. To make the 12″ circle is impossible. We purchase your products so please give us some HELP!
I made the 12″ circle. Remember that all of the punches with come out about 1/8″ smaller. If you are using a 12″ square for a 12″ circle, you have to make sure you find the center of the page. Make an X measuring from corner to corner.
Have you found the instructions for the angel and Christmas tree yet? I have not been able to find instructions for either.
Thank you.
They should post the pics & instructions on the blog- another thing to “BUY” is not what I’m looking for :) Seems like they don’t use the blog as often as they should. Love the products but need PICS don’t see any here. Ideas for inspiration please!!!! Make a special facebook page or something- Marthas FB doesn’t have any ideas either.
If you start a new face book page please invite me in.
I tried you tube for instructions but all I can find is the instruction on how to use the circle cutter and not the projects. One of them said she was going to show how to make the turkey, but I still can’t find it yet.
Alex, love your demos. I know it’s been asked before but is Martha ever going to have a book of ideas/instructions for her punches. Even if I record the shows it’s just not a user friendly process. Plus you only have time to highlight a few ideas. I have many of the punches but need inspiration and details – please!
Alex: Please put up the directions for the christmas tree made with the Circle Edge Punches that is on the show today, 11/13/2012. Thank you. Congratulations on your new niece and to your family!!!
On todays Circle Edge Punch,is there a way to make the circle smaller then 5 1/2 inches? I know that I can cut the edge away but wondered if there is some technique to use with the circle cutter? thanks
Hello Alex,

Punch Addic

Like the ladies above my PAOTP was just thrown in the box, they were lucky, mine wasn’t even wrapped. Plus all my boxes were dented. The small booklets were thrown in the packing box instead of with the punches. Not what I expected from a MS product. And Alex, if you do read this blog, could you please figure out a way to number the punches . It would help, when we want to purchase new ones or look for certain ones. The number would also help us to reconize the name of the punch we are using.
Alex, Love watching you demo the punches. On craft day a viewer called and asked you to show how you did the corner punch to do a circle. You said you would do it, I watched for it as well, and you didn’t do it! I must have over 150 punches and they are the best, but I would love more ideas on how to use them. Please, if not a magazine or book about the punches can you put the demo on your blog?
Alex I need your help. My PAOTP that came with the set of 10 punches came without its box. Instead it was wrapped in bubble wrap. I need the box to record the name of the punch & it’s number like(scallop snowflake pattern 42-91003)this is how I keep up with what I have. If I can’t get the box can you tell me the name of the punch & it’s number? Thanks
Did anyone else receive their set of 10 punches with one of them missing it’s box?
It wasn’t missing it just wasn’t in the box
I received all of the punches but the PAOTP punch the Daisy Medallion was wrapped in bubble wrap instead of being in it’s original box.
yes one of the punch all over the page i beleive its called daisy madallion was misssing the box
How loose should Knitting be on straight criss-cross (picture please)? Will it tighten up?
I too would love to see a crafts magazine, punch idea book too. I love all the ideas I see on HSN but would love a magazine, or even a CD to buy to help me utilize the punches to the fullest extent! From all the comments on the blog and by callers to HSN it would be an instant best seller!
Please Martha think about a Martha Stewart Crafts Magazine even if its quarterly. I would love ideas on how to use all of my Martha Stewart Crafts. & Alex I want to know how you made that Owl.
I agree with idea of making a sheet of directions for projects shown with each presentation on each new set of punches as shown on TV. I also would like to know how to make The OWL.
Very cute baby. Congrats!!
Now for my question. Will Martha ever have a book on punch ideas!! I see the sample sheet on the different punches on HSN. It would be nice to have a book that Martha has created to give us an ideas. thanks!
