Makeup Tips & Summer Shows
Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying your Summer… we’ve been so busy – between spending quality time with the girls and our work responsibilities – the time is just flying by. Sly has been working on the final preparations for the premiere of his newest film and I have been working on our Summer Show line-ups. I hope you will be able to spend some time with both “Stallones” this Summer, first of course with me and the Serious Skin Care shows in July and August and also with Sly starting in mid-August. Both options allow you to beat the Summer heat – staying indoors watching Cecilia and I on HSN or in the cool, dark theatre seeing a remarkable action blockbuster!
It is no secret that I LOVE to shop on HSN. Not only is the selection huge and the values fantastic; but what I REALLY love is how the show hosts and guests tell me all about the items that are on and then show me how to use them!
A big part of our focus for this month is make-up. Most of you know that make-up is a terrific passion of mine… during the LIVE TV demonstrations I like to pass on to you tips on how to maximize your color application. Since the demonstrations can go by so quickly on TV, I thought I would list some here for you to reference – these are my “tricks” – check them out.
1. Apply your favorite moisturizer before applying foundation.
2. Use your fingertips to blend lipstick, blush and eye shadow.
3. Always use translucent powder on top of your concealer. It helps keep your makeup set and your eye shadow in place all day! No more greasy eyelids!
4. Use your pressed powder and a brush to blend in your makeup to the neck area.
5. Accentuate your best feature with a bit more makeup!
6. Use a brown or black liner on the inside rim of your upper eyelid.

Also this Summer you won’t want to miss the LIVE remote from Planet Hollywood Las Vegas – I am so thrilled to be participating in this exciting event on Saturday, August 14. That’s also my birthday – and I have an hour filled with Serious PRESENTS planned to celebrate the occasion!
Finally, I wanted to be sure to comment on a couple of threads I have read on the on line communities regarding our big kit offerings. So you are all clear – SSC will continue to offer larger C and A kits throughout the year… to keep the balance and to provide an assortment of products that meets as many users needs as possible, you will see us alternate from basic regimens to larger kits from visit to visit. Look for those larger C and A kits in September. Plus, I have it on good authority that we will have a larger Glycolic Kit available and the return of the Emu Aloe Cream – ALL in September!!!

Hi Jennifer, have been a SSC junkie since 1995, do you think you will ever bring back the Tinted moisturizer in Shell? it was the best makeup I ever used in my life. I miss it. Thanks for your wonderful products-I use it all!!
Will you have the olive double kit any time soon? I love it and please don’t get rid of the passion fruit lip gloss another fav. Will you ever have the glycolic wips again? I use nothing else to wash my face ever since I first used the glycolic cleanser three years ago. I also love your sugar cookie body butter, ginger scrub and choclate truffle body wash double kit that I haven’t seen in two years. Keep up the great work!!

What order do I use these products in? Super Mel C, plant stem cell for face and eyes, correctchin, retinol A? Also I am 40 with oily skin and large pores and very little in the way of fine lines and wrinkles but lines on my neck.

The general rule is serums (Super Mel C cocktail and A Defiance)go first, and then eye, neck and face creams. Think about the thickness of the products, and use the ones that are more liquidy closest to the skin.
jennifer i love your skin care products!!!!! thats all i use for all my skin care needs, and my hubby loves the plant stem cell cream and the stem cell eye cream,(i got him hooked!…lol). I occasionally get a breakout, and i saw that you had a product that was in a small red jar (the kind that your mineral makeup comes in) with a brush and it was for breakouts, i was going to purchase it but now i cant find it,any chance you will have more or bring it back? I would really like to try it.

What is the difference in content and in usage between Buff Polish and Glycolic Renewal Gel?

Serious Skin Care is the best to target our many skin care needs. I have super sensitive skin that is affected by fragrance and harsh ingredients. I love watching as the new products are presented and enjoy learning about the science behind them. If it is possible, could more be made without fragrance? The glucosamine line is awesome, but it would be exciting for us with fragrance allergies to be able to use the latest breakthroughs as well. Thanks for bringing us affordable luxury.

Jennifer,I just wanted to thank you as well for the different lines you offer,I think I have tried them all and I have extremely sensitive skin,I have large pores over nose and well the T zone,Im using a cream xr as well as the vitamin c line,my face is dry every where else til of course midday,Im a nurse and take my creams to work to use on less fortunate clients,with dry skin.Do you have any suggestions?Also I just want to say your humble attitude is what is so appealing,God Bless
hi jennifer: i am 52 and have been using your products for about 3 years. i love them all! have olive oil, vitamin c, trio for night time, the encapsulated c, correct chin, etc. your olive oil body cream, hand cream and vit.c body cream are great! i also love the oliv oil line and will be ordering more correct chin. also, my 14 year old has tried everything for her acne to no avail. are there acne products for her or do you suggest something with retinol to exfoliate her skin? and moisture?

I see you have a newer hydrapixel product coming out–Serious Skin Care HydraPixel Correct Micro Hydrating Corrective Coverage and also noticed the 1st ingredient listed is cyclopentasiloxane which I have found on an ingredient web site as ” Cyclopentasiloxane is a silicone compound. In animals, low amounts already affected uterine funtioning.” I used the other hydrapixel you sell and would like to know if we as consumers should be concerned with the side affects of this ingredient? Hello Jennifer!!! I recently re-tried your products- specifically the celebration kit and I’m so glad I did! I see the difference in my skin…I really love the C Clean Ester cleanser and face serum as well as the agrifirm moisturizer and eye cream! I alternate between that and the Renew (green bottle/plant stem cell)..and I love the brightening one also!! THANK YOU JENNIFER AND CECE FOR WONDERFUL SKIN CARE PRODUCTS!!

I LOVE your Intensive Hair Mask! My hair was a disaster from constant coloring & perms; one frizzy mess! This product has done miracles for my hair. I use it very sparingly, hoping it’ll last a long time & even with the small amount I use, it’s GREAT!

I am looking for something for the “grand canyon” between my eyes. I am not sure what those wrinkles are called they are the 11 lines between the eyes. If you could suggest something that would be great.
Also quite awhile ago I ordered the liquid laser but never got around to using it. Recently I used it on my husbands lower back and we were floored at how well it worked. Kept it on for 3 minutes and it wiped right off. Can this product be used in the bikini area?

We suggest that you try Insta-Tox for the “grand canyon”. It is a temporary wrinkle filler. Another idea is NanoFill Topical Collagen. As for the liquid laser, so glad that it worked so well for your husband’s back however, do not recommend it for sensitive areas.
I recently ordered the A Copper peptide duo and I absolutely love it for my combination skin! I have ordered many of your products from just about every line and this is my favorite! Is it true that it is being discontinued, and why? If so how long do I have to stock up, and what can I use in the future to replace it?
A Copper Peptide Duo is a great product for your skin. You can find it by calling our customer service department. Anytime you are thinking of stocking up, remember the shelf life unopened is 2 years. The shelf life after opening is 1 year.
Hello Jennifer, Thank you so very much for these wonderful products! I have Lupus and have skin issues and I have tried so many different products and nothing works like your skin line. I am a single mother so thank you for offering affordable, great skin care with flex payments. I just received the Correc-chin and Supermel C and really love them! I tried the Eyetality and just hasn’t worked for the puffyness and heavy lid. I found at a discount department store, your SSC Facial Pads with vit A, look like slices of cucumber and comes with little tweezers and you keep them in the fridg. Nice scent and they work! Why do you not sell these? Ladies will love them! The cold and scent and vit A works great and very relaxing and super on a hot day! They only had 2 so go one for me and mom. Bring these to HSN!Thank you!

I recently received the 9-piece TS makeup kit. I love all the products except for the foundation. I ordered the wrong color. Jennifer, I read through hsn.com and I watched 3 TV presentations of the TS. Nowhere was it mentioned what the difference was between ight and light-medium. I order light-medium and it is too yellow. I want to exchange it for light, but HSN Customer Service said there is no way to change the auto-ship from light-medium to light. I can cancel the order or be stuck. :(

We realize that it can be hard to pick a shade without actually trying it on. That is why you are offered a 30 day return policy. If you return the product, you can place a new order for the correct shade.

Just curious if anyone has encountered this issue.
Received 2 bottles of Rulinea serum, different purchase places, and they are both very dark brown and thick. Is this normal? I don’t
know how they are supposed to look having never ordered before.
Very normal, thick brown, geletin looking product. Looks terrible, but really works well. I rank Rulinea products with the SSC cleansers as best products ever.
I have the exact same problem as you encountered. I ordered this serum when it was first introduced and it did not look like this. When I received the first order, I called them and HSN gave me an $11 credit because I wanted the rest of the things in the kit. Then, I received the autoship order and the serum was worse – so thick I can’t even get it in the dropper. I’m very disappointed with SSC.

Aloha from Hawaii. I had to write to tell you how much I love all of Serious Skin Care. Been with SSC almost six yrs now, just had a b-day, am 55, but thanks to SSC, look 45. I watch everyone of your shows so not to miss any special kits as well as new tips on how to apply them. Love the eyetality kit, dont’t need Insta-tox anymore under my eyes. Jen, thanks so much for great products at affordable prices. Absolutely love Glowbrasion, Glycolic 3 Mask, C Resurface, & your cleansers are the best! My skin is so soft, forehead lines greatly diminished, sun damage much less visible. One night I applied Super Cell Food from the trio as a thick mask–when done, my skin was unbelievably soft and my forehead lines were almost completely gone! Can you please make a light-weight moisturizer or hydrator? Can’t use heavy moisturizers. Thanks!

Some of our mositurizers are lighter than others. Have you tried the Resveratrol Drench for example?
