Everything You Need to be Spring Shower Ready

Spring is here and with it comes those lovely April showers. The trees are beginning to green, the flowers are blooming, new beginnings and love just seem to saturate the air, but with all that comes the rain. On those days, where the ground is full of puddles and the sky is a little grey, sometimes it helps to have a few go to items that bring a smile to your face and put a pep in your water soaked steps.

1. Comfortable Socks

We’re gonna start things off with some cute cozy socks. Out of all the items this is the simplest, but in a way it can make all the difference. There is just something about putting on a fluffy pair of soft, thick socks that brings a bit of comfort to a rainy afternoon.

2. The Perfect Coat

Our second essential would be a classic trench coat. Not only is this item a fashionable barrier for our clothes from the rain and elements, but in our opinion, it is a key wardrobe staple for any fashionista. The neutral color and light-weight material makes it a versatile piece that can elevate the style factor of any outfit.

3. A Good Pair of Rain Boots

They are sturdy and keep feet dry, which helps keep those spring head colds away. They come in many colors which is nice, but for me, I love a good statement piece and I fell in love with this adorable pair with a floral design. Keeping the base color black still makes it feel kind of neutral, but the muted design gives it that little pop of color and character to make it something special.

4. On-The-Go Beverage

You all know that I am a coffee fiend, it is my one standard accessory. Because of this I am always on the lookout for functional and fashionable to-go containers. Taking along a favorite drink to sip, and especially something hot when a rainy chill begins to fall, takes cozy to the next level.

5. Grab The Umbrella

I don’t know about you, but when I look at the forecast and I see rain, I’m already looking for my umbrella. I recently discovered the Betterbrella, which is basically genius in its function. It opens and closes away from you, so for example when you are trying to climb into your car and it feels as though the sky is falling on you, when you pull it closed and the water goes up and away instead of down and all over you. Seriously genius friends, and a perfect way to round out our list of rainy day essentials!

You can’t really go wrong with these 5 essentials any fashionista should have on hand for the rainy season; some of them are functional, some are more fashionable, but all of them do their job and make me smile on those days when I have to make my own sunshine.  I’d love to hear about some of your rainy day essentials, leave a comment below!
