Jump Into Spring With These Five Ways to Get Organized
Spring is in the air (finally). What better way to put the dreary doldrums of winter behind us and welcome in the bright new season than with a little spring cleaning. Out with the old frazzled way of living, and in with the new more organized and structured way of getting through your busy day. After all, don’t you want to head into warmer days with less clutter in your home? Refresh your space and organize your life with these five easy solutions.
Make Your Closet Look Like Mariah’s
There’s no better place to start a newly-organized life than with your closet. Many of us still have a jumble of shoes two-feet high littering the closet floor. Shoe racks aren’t exactly glamorous, but for those without a lavish Mariah Carey-style walk-in closet, they are extremely handy. Hang up those shoes for more floor space. A rack is also a convenient place for those belts and scarves that are hidden in drawers. Your morning routine will thank you.

Declutter with All-Purpose Baskets
A few strategically placed baskets are good for the home for three reasons. One, they help you stay organized by having a special place for loose items that have a tendency to get lost, like keys, mail, jewelry, sunglasses and toiletries. Two, they free up counter space and keep your space looking spotless. And three, these are just so adorable.
Banish Messy Baubles
Don’t you hate it when you can’t find a matching earring, or when you have to untangle a mess of necklaces? You’re a lot more likely to wear that fabulous jewelry you have if you can actually see it and get to it. Pick up a jewelry organizer to display your most adorable baubles with the added benefit of protecting them from rust and damage. No more earring backs lost in the carpet for you. This roll-up organizer is also perfect for traveling.

Get Organized at Home with a Blackberry
PDAs aren’t just for the office. On the home-front, they can help you organize the busy schedule of your entire family. Keep task lists, maintain calendars, update address and have instant access to email and the Internet on the go. And there are tons of productivity apps like Lister and myTasks that help you prioritize and save time. Keep your home running as smoothly as a business with a BlackBerry.
Save Space While Saving Your Leftovers
There’s no need to do an entire overhaul to make a big difference in the kitchen. A new set of food storage containers can help regulate an overflowing cabinet full of cheap plastic bowls and mismatched lids. Check out these glass containers from Pryex. They won’t stain or leach any plastic chemicals into your food. They’re oven and microwave safe, great for refrigerator storage, and the air-tight lids make them just perfect for lunch on-the-go.

Joy needs her own blog space. I had the problem of the huggables breaking or warping. But, since that was a rare occasion, I still get them, and love them. Can Joy do the same organizing in purses? Like zippered attractive bags we can fill and then take out of one purse and put in to another purse? When you change purses, it’s a real hassle to have to empty purses!! Please, I reemphasize, please have a separate blog for Joy Mangano!
When I bought my first large set I was disappointed when I saw how thin they were. I organized my coat closet and was surprised that they held my heavy winter coats. Then I put my knit ruannas on them and thought they would make bumps in the shoulder area, but surprisingly they did not. I just ordered more to re do one of the bedroom closets. So far I have not had any break.
I would think that Joy would be extremely embarrassed by these hangers. They do what she says in regards to getting you more space, but they break so easily. I paid very good money for these and was so excited to have them – I think that more than half have broken around the mental hanger part. If she is going to claim they do not break then she should stand by this. It really disappoints me that HSN would sell such a cheap product and lay claims that they do not break. Embarrassing!
I have had the same problems w/the hangers breaking. It doesn’t do any good to report to customer service because if it’s 1 day past 30 it’s tuff luck,I have had some nasty people when Ihave called in the past.I have cut back my ordering on this channel because of this.I am ill &can’t get out to shop & I don’t need to deal w/snarky people I’ll spend my money some where else.If I know something is good & can’t find it some where else I’ll buy it.I have noticed their prices are getting higher also!
joy you should be very embarrased with these hangers.i have bought off and on many of these.and have thrown away quit a few of them and did,t say any thing but after these last ones you have lost a customer.they break in the middle looking like a butter fly.
In addition to my first comment I would also like to say that I called couple of months ago and still waiting for replacement of broken hangers. Get with it or you will lose lots of customers not just for hangers but other products as well.
I am thoroughly dissapointed with her customer service. I purchased BLACK hangers just before Christmas and they keep braking. I called customer service and was willing to send the whole shipment back but was told I need to call every time I had a few brake. This does not make any sense to me. If you know you have a problem with certain vendor (which they indicated they do) why not let the customer send it back and send another non problem color. Very, very dissapointed. Would not by her prod.
I was listening to Joy Mangano presentation last night. They said her hangers are unbreakable. I would like to know if that is indeed true. I have purchased an off-brand that seemed to be made just like the “Huggable Hangers” and they indeed do break. The hooks break out of the hanger and the hangers break when you are fingering through your closet.
I wanted to know if Joy Mangano would make a hanger just for hanging pants/skirts like the ones you get from the stores when purchasing these types of items. The hangers do not have to have the clips attached to them, they can be included as a separate clip. I just hate using a good hanger I can use for my dresses, blouses, jackets, etc. I have only used the clips when I have a suit, then I don’t feel bad using a regular hanger. So she can create a hanger of this type, it would be appreciated
