Hot in Hollywood logo Hollywood FashionThere’s no better way to find out what’s really hot in Hollywood than going right to the source – a Fashion Stylist and a Fashion Blogger. Want to see how we decide on all of our trends? We asked these two fashion trendsetters exactly what’s in for spring in Hollywood.

Sydne Summer, founder of ThinkThruFashion.com

Q: What are your top three tips on how to look “hot” in Hollywood?
A:
1. Confidence is key. Even if a celebrity isn’t the best dressed at an event, if she knows how to work it, she’ll get good press. So make sure you’re comfortable in what you’re wearing so you can strut your stuff like a star walking the red carpet.

2. Accessories. Most of us don’t have the luxury of borrowing a dress whenever we need to go to an event. So we have to make the most of what we have in our closet. Accessories can instantly update a look and add a glam factor to any outfit.

3. Don’t forget about hair and makeup! Even if you’re wearing the hottest look straight from the runway, if your hair and makeup is a disaster, that’s all anyone will remember.

A: Trying to be too trendy. I’m all about following trends but you need to have your own sense of style. If you just wear whatever you see in a fashion magazine, you’ll just look like a walking mannequin. It’s boring. I’m not going to name names but there are a few reality stars who commit this mistake on a regular basis. You have to take the trends and make them your own.

Hot in Hollywood blog355 4 Hollywood Fashion Q: What are your top three tips on how to look “hot” in Hollywood?
A: My top three tips for looking ‘hot in Hollywood’ are to wear your confidence on your sleeve! Whatever you wear-own it and have fun with it and it will look great!
When following trends-be sure to incorporate only the ones that are right for you- We all come in different shapes and sizes and trends are not one size fits all.
Have fun with fashion-it is an extension of your personality and is meant to be a creative form of expression.

Hot in Hollywood blog355 5 Hollywood FashionQ: What’s the biggest fashion mistake you see celebrities make?
A: The biggest mistake I see celebrities make is problems with fit- This element is one of the most important pieces of the process and is sometimes overlooked.

Hot in Hollywood blog355 6 Hollywood FashionQ: What’s one trend you think will be huge for spring?
A: One of the biggest trends for Spring continues to be unusual shapes and patterns in clothing such as fun cutouts and pronounced shoulder pads.

  • Dear Laurie. Please let us know when you will be back with your new Spring fashions on HSN. I thought I heard, when you were on in Feb., that you would be back in May. Is that correct?

    Thank you,

  • Bette, MD says:

Dear Laurie, I have purchased many of your lovely things. There has been one important piece that I bought that I wear every day. It’s the charm bracelet with all of the beautiful pictures of our Lord and Saviour. I have a serious illness, and it brings me peace and comfort, reminding me that He is always with me. I have a friend who has ovarian cancer, and I am hoping that you will bring this bracelet back, especially in blue (color for that cancer)or any color. Thank you, Bette

  • Barbara, OR says:

    Dear Laurie,
Please bring back the gold sequin handbag. I have a friend who has one, and I would like to have one too. It is gorgeous. Thanks!

  • Denise, OH says:

  • Mary, MI says:

Laurie, Please bring back the dress you had I think in Feb. Not sure what it was called but it came in turquoise, pink, yellow. Maybe a jersey knit. I waited too long to order and it was gone. Should have known.

  • TANA, TX says:

DEAR LAURIE PLEASE BRING BACK THE LBD EARRINGS THAT MATCH THE HINGED BRACELET!! I HAVE THE BRACELET IN 3 COLORS AND WOULD LOVE THE MATCHING EARRINGS!!!

  • Valerie, MI says:

    Hi Laurie

I love the concept of your picking a few key items to add to a wardrobe to stay on trend.
I do have a request…..can you PLEASE AD XL to your sizing.

There is such a huge jump in size from the measurements in a large to a 1X. Things that rely on bust measurements make it very very difficult to fit. A jump in size by 6-8 inches is huge.

I love your products, they are lots of fun. I would like to buy more than accessories
If only you sold my size:(

    Thanks for listening

  • Shara, CA says:

Shara in california.

  • SHELLY, MS says:

Hot in Hollywood has quickly become my brand of choice. I just recently bought my first product and fell in love with it instantly. I am a 26 year old full time on the go stay at home mom. I spend my time doing the mommy thing. I would love to be a model for such an awesome line. I love Hot in Hollywood because it gives me the look I want without making me choose between putting food on the table or a cute new purse on my shoulder. I get it all! Do you have any idea how great that feels?

I would love to be considered as a story model. I am 39,mother of two kids(11 & 6) & a business owner. Many days are spent, running kids to school, lessons, & work errands. That leaves very little time for shopping. I love to be able to look like a million bucks but be very budget friendly. Time isnt always on my side. I dont have many moments to shop for up to date looks. This opportunity would be a wonderful experience to share with all the other mothers/business owners that I network with.

I would love to become a Hot in Hollywood story Model. I buy a lot of clothing from HSN and am constantly approached, complimenting me on my choice of clothing. While watching Hot in Hollywood today I heard about being a story model. I live in Indiana, although I am formally a California girl. Any help you can give me in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am interested in becoming a model for the products. How do I go about that?

  • Anonymous says:

Laurie- I am so disappointed that many of your items today are already sold out in the small sizes. I wanted to purchase several things I can’t even try waitlist as they told me they are no longer available. It’s only 12 30pm on the East coast and so much is already gone. So disappointed.
