Cornucopia Pin edited 682x1024 Heidi on Fall Fashion: Fresh Ideas for Wearing Brooches and Pins

Cornucopia Pin, not yet available on hsn.com

Well, summer flew by as usual! Where does the time go? When the nights have me rummaging through my closets for those sweaters I’ve put away I know that fall is just around the corner. I can honestly smell it. You know, girls, I couldn’t be happier, because it means that I’ll be kicking off the season at HSN with the most fabulous jewelry from my new Fall Collection. I was reviewing the pieces that I’ll be showing you this September 9 – 12, and you can clearly see my influences are all about the array of colors that autumn brings us in the Northeast.

Notre Dames edited 1 1024x768 Heidi on Fall Fashion: Fresh Ideas for Wearing Brooches and Pins

Notre Dames: Gail and I at the Notre Dame game "wearing" some fabulous jewelry!

I have a great memory of Gail and I attending our first football game at my son’s college at Notre Dame . It was downright cold, and we were freezing! The only thing that kept my mind off of the weather was looking at the array of gorgeous colors splashing the university’s campus in shades of orange, yellow, red and brown. I thought, “Wow! I can’t wait to put these colors on some jewelry to accompany my fall wardrobe.”

Girls, first of all, I don’t buy a lot of clothing. I am neither a clothes horse nor a shoe diva, because let’s face it, my passion is jewelry. When I finally make my purchases as far as wardrobe goes, it is always about quality. It has got to be a garment that I’ll have on my back for 20 years. My cool weather clothing consists of a few classically tailored jackets, hats and of course, I’m a nut for scarves. As a matter of fact, my scarf collection is equally as big as my jewelry collection, so I contradict myself a teensy bit! The best part is

that these articles are all perfect for PINS! And do I have some awesome pins coming your way this month!

I love pins for many reasons. They are not only eye-catching and dress up a lapel or a hat, but they are so useful. They can be used to fasten a scarf at your shoulder, or with a big, big shawl one can wear it around the neck by sticking a fabulous brooch right in the middle to hold it together, while letting the shawl hang long in front of the body. I am also a huge fan of hats, and a swell pin placed “just so” on a beret or a fedora makes such a fashion statement! Bundling up doesn’t have to be bulky and unflattering. If you wear jewelry, your gorgeousness will shine through. So here’s to crisp Autumn days and chilly nights!

xoxo,

Heidi

Heidi, you are a creative genius. I love your designs. I especially love pins. Would you please make more pins. I have a couple of suggestions, if I may. I would love to see a tree pin. Perhaps you can call it “The tree of life”. I would also love to see birds in flight. Thank you for this opportunity to express my ideas.

  • earthioi says:

Heidi – Your pins are so unique & beautiful. It is a shame to put them away in a jewelry box when not in use! I had an idea I wanted to bring to your attention – hope you wil consider this. That is to design a display frame, with a small satin or velvet pillow inside where the pin could be attached when not in use, & the frame could then be hung on the wall. This way the pins could be on display & enjoyed at all times, instead of just when being worn. I do hope you will read this & consider it.

Heidi – I have been seeking a way to communicate an idea I have re: your pins. They are SO unique, it is a shame to put them away in a jewelry box when not being worn. Have you ever thought of, or would you consider, designing a type of display frame [perhaps with a small satin or velvet pillow inside to attach the pin to] where the pins could be placed when not in use & then hung on a wall? There they could be appreciated more frequently for the art they truly are. I hope you do read this.

Heidi I love you just the way you are! Keep that beautiful smile. I’m hooked on the Stunning Shirli Collection and Heidi Boukay. Oh, it took me a while but I have the entire Shilri Collection at last. The whole Pink and the yellow. Kudos well done! Now I am working on the beautiful green Boukay Collection. Keep smiling..waving!

  • Dottie2 says:

Heidi, Your talent is incredible! I have always shopped at the most expensive department stores for collectible costume jewelry and I can not believe your style, quality and the price. I loved the summer shell jewelry collection. Would it be possible to add some color like the aqua for next year? I would also like to see some larger sizes in your bracelets.

When do you return again to HSN?

  • Dottie2 says:

Heidi, This is my first blog ever! You are such inspiration to all of us! Your grandmother would be so proud of you!
I am hooked on your jewelry! I have it all displayed on a wall in my dressing area. I purchased the Heidi Daus “Breathtaking Baguettes” Crystal Ring and I need some earrings for sure and a bracelet and necklace to go with this. Any suggestions?

  • EileenAlana says:

    Heidi,
I purchased your beauty and the beads necklace. I have the pierced earrings to match on waitlist (keeping my fingers crossed). It is a stunning art deco collection.

Please create more of these longer length necklaces in the art deco style with pierced earrings to match.

    Thanks,
    EileenAlana

    Heidi,

I have asked before and will continue to ask: Please issue a book of your best and greatest (practically everything). Many of us are Heidi Daus collectors and I know we would love to have this to see what has come before and what is available now. I, for one, am very curious of how it all began for you and how your designs evolved.
My Heidi Daus collection is one of the musts that I leave my daughters (they’re alreading tagging their names on the boxes).

    Thanks,
    Laura A.

  • Barb533 says:

Heidi, have you looked at the reviews for the “Perennial Favorate”? Are you taking any specific action. This was a Today’s Special. thousands upon thousands were sold.

  • Peggyseek says:

    Heidi
I am looking for a necklace I wish I had purchased. You were appearing on HSN when you offered a necklace that I believe was for the last time. A woman who had purchased it called in to say that she wore it to Synagogue and received many compliments. I believe it was in the $250.00 range. If you remember this I would greatly appreciate some information on the necklace. I love your work and purchased my first necklace last week. Very, very nice. Thank You.

  • Heidi Daus says:

Thanks to all who watched my September shows. It was so much fun to share the new designs with you. I had such a great time!

  • carolj17 says:

Hi Heidi, I love your jewelry, and your shows. I started collecting about 2 years ago. My little problem is I am a petite gal so I can’t wear some of your pieces, unfortunately. I,m wondering if you can create some pierced earrings that can be worn in the daytime. Sort of on the theme of the “easy being deco” bracelets in black or white diamonds, something like a small hoop ? Love the blog too.

  • Indygal says:

Heidi, I love your jewelry, I own around a hundred pieces. My favorite color is red, therefore, I’ve tried to buy your “To Have and Behold” necklace in the red carnelian from last Christmas collection, I even have it on backorder. Would you PLEASE make this again, I know you offer it in the green beads, but I fell in love with the red multi strand version, this would fulfill my heart’s desire. Thank you so much for all your beautiful art! I look forward to each and every item and YOUR visits

  • Nanafini says:

Looking for Fu Dog ring in the clear crystal color, size 7. Are you bringing this item back?

  • claddah says:

I have missed out on MANY earrings ,because they ONLY came in Clip .PLEASE make ALL your earrings in BOTH –Good for business too–MORE customers can buy the designs. Can you PLEASE bring back the SPIDER PIN –missed it !

    • claddah says:

HEIDI–forgot to ask you this . I LOVE Dragons, and I saw the
Dragon 3 srand necklace on HSN.com—However, I was sad to see
that it WAS NOT IN COLORED STONES !! The design is Flawless
But it looks like a Black & White Photo–Lots of shiny stones
but NO COLOR !! Very disappointed–especially when I know
that you do excellent color work–I have the Dragon ring.
Can you make it in color/Dragon colors?

    • claddah says:

Just got my Crystal Spider Earrings ( 9/14) OMG !! These earrings
are sooo Gorgeous !! They look even better in person –the colors are so bright & beautiful , the size is perfect–not too big–which
was important to me . This was my 1st pair of Heidi earrings
( because I only wear Pierced–Hedi doesn’t do many Pierced).
Now that I have my 1st pair–I am going to want MORE ,
Heidi–you HAVE TO make more PIERCED (along with clips).

  • Heidi,Heidi,Heidi.

  • coffeebeaner says:

Heidi, your unique style is reflected in everything you bring us HSN girls. I was one of the lucky 11 VIP customers to be invited to HSN’s VIP Research Forum on 8/24 – 8/25 in St. Petersburg, FL. Was hoping to meet you there. I do have a passion for your bangles and watches. I was hoping to impress on you the need for us gals with small wrists (I have 5″ wrist)to be able to get pieces in size 6. Most of my beautiful bracelets flip around..big problem.

  • idahodoco says:

I sent an aqua watch with check to get the battery replaced. USPS says your people received it on 8/18/2011. Did you? .

  • idahodoco says:

I sent an aqua watch with check to get the battery replaced. USPS says your people received it on 8/18/2011. Did you? Am looking forward to finally getting organized (HAH) and ordering a ring to go with this simple but perfect watch.

  • Hazy57 says:

Hi Heidi, I look forward to you coming on and watch all of your shows. I have tons of your pieces. Would you consider putting the Pumpkin you have as a pin, earrings and a ring as a bracelet like on a black leather band with one of your pretty cool closures? I would love to wear this around Halloween. Thanks for your work – it is all beautiful. I feel so good each time I wear one or many of your pieces…and that is almost everyday!!!

  • elsabe says:

Heidi, I LOVE your jewelry! A request please: Would you please consider making some pieces with the Gloriosa Lily, also known as a Flame Lily? The petals are red and yellow and resemble flames. Your crystals would really do it justice! It was the national flower of my old home country, Rhodesia, and I have a brooch made of enamel, but a brooch in your crystals would be totally stunning!
