Happy New Year
Happy New Year!!
I spent the holidays in my home in Connecticut with my family and we did absolutely nothing but share time together. Our conversations usually revolved around Noah and Grant’s school friends, teachers and thoughts. We ate everything in sight and cooked and shared family time. Stuart and the boys helped me a lot as I had minor surgery the day before the holidays and I needed a lot of time to just relax.
We had the most boring and wonderful vacation ever…time spent together doing nothing can result in something that vacations filled with fun can’t always deliver on… We watched movies, played games, spent time with my parents and learned a lot about each other. During the year we are always so busy that we never just hang out.
I was so worried that my holiday would not inspire me to create new and exciting pieces for upcoming shows. In fact, the opposite is true. I went through every piece of jewelry I own and was more inspired by what I had than by what I wanted. Looking at my collection (with pieces from my grandparents) and my holiday gifts from Stu and the boys (they bought me two antique charms that I love) made me realize how wonderful my life is…each piece brought me back to a time and a memory that I will treasure forever.
Some people go through photo albums to remember special times. For me, going through my collection of jewelry is much more inspiring and memorable. Each piece, whether bought on vacation or during my daily travels or given to me as a token of love represent a warm and distinct moment in time.

Rarities are not just about the perfect piece of jewelry, it is about the memories that are evoked when you wear your precious jewel. Would you be so kind as to send me a few words and a photograph of a special piece of jewelry in your collection? I would love to see some of your favorite pieces of jewelry and recreate them for Rarities. I will share the piece and your story on-air and in my blog throughout the year. If you are not using Facebook, even my mom signed up this holiday. You can too and I can’t wait to see you on my Rarities Facebook page. Just click and we can start creating some inspiring and new Rarities together.
I can think of no better inspiration than jewels loved and cherished by my girlfriends, most of whom watch me on HSN and I never get to see you. Happy and healthy New Year and may all of your resolutions become a reality in 2010. (I really am going to join a gym and start eating healthy…)
Lots of love,
Carol

I purchased the Crown Springs turquoise surrounded by diamonds ring, and cannot take it off. I absolutely love it – but am nervous about the turquoise falling out being that it does not have prongs holding it in. How is the stone set into the setting? Is it glued? Can this ring be worn all of the time without worrying about the stone falling out? I would greatly appreciate answers to my questions, I want to keep this ring so badly – but need answers before committing to a $500 purchase.
My fiance and I purchased the black onyx and ruby ring as a wedding ring for our December 5 wedding. I took great care with the ring, only wearing it to work or when we went out. The black onyx band cracked in the back and totally split apart! I realize black onyx is not as heavy duty as gold, but with special care I expected it to last longer than the time it took to make the last flex payment on the ring.
I sent my Crown Spring Turquoise diamond ring back…The diamonds were set poorly and I requested another one hoping I wont get another lemon. For the price we are paying the quality should be a lot better.
I am in love with my new 10 CT Prasiolite with diamonds, emerald cut ring. The scroll design gallery is exquisite. I celebrated a personal milestone and just had to buy myself a Rarities piece! It’s my first of many.
Thank you for the beautiful heirloom piece.
Dear Ms. Brodie, PLEASE, PLEASE, bring back the white quartzite and turq. ring. I missed it, and would really appreciate your help with this… Your collextions are absolutely GORGEOUS. Thank you very much.
Please offer the tattoo necklace in sterling or offer in with a two-tone look of 14k and sterling…. love this so much…… thank you ;)
Please please please Ms. Brodie could you please offer more of your lovely evil eye necklaces..unfortunately I missed out on it and its sold out..could you please create a ring, etc., with evil eye design in white gold/silver.I am latin and in my latin culture we also share the evil eye belief..even when children are first born that’s one of the first medallions they receive as gift from godparent as protection. Love your jewelry – great great quality. Thanks for reading.
On that note Ladies, the amount of metal does not denote quality in jewelry.. It’s the designers ability to choose gems with the best saturation of color. Then showcase the color, cut, and clarity of that gem.. That is what Carol does so beautifully, she understands light and how to refract it, to bring out the beauty of the gemstones with her designs. That’s why she is a leader the industry and garner’’s the respect she does….
Ladies, Just recieved my evil eye and rutilated pendant, as Carol would say they are TO DIE FOR!! Thankyou once again for the most fashion forward heirloom quality jewelry. I’ve read so many of the reviews and am suprised time and time again with any negative feedback. I own more than 20 of your pieces and have never been disapointed or felt quality or metal was an issue. Thankyou for bringing these collections to us and keeping it afforadable…
Yes Carol, please bring back the long gold necklace we’ve seen you wear time and time again.
For those of use who got a late start watching and collecting your pieces, that gold necklace is the most amazing finishing piece. Another request, the black onyx/saphire teardrop earings they flew out the door 1st airing and I can’t find anything comparable to your quality. I look forward to watching you every month and hearing all your stories. Can’t wait to recieve my evil eye and rutilated pendant..
Hi Carol! PLEASE, PLEASE bring more Evil Eye Pendants!! Thank you!
Carol,
I love your jewelry. I have the Topaz with the blue sapphires. Non-stop compliments! I want the pumpkin citrine. Can you respond to the complaints about the sapphires falling out – pretty please.
Oh I wanted the slice earrings in Rose Quartz and they sold out to fast!!!! I love them…you saud no more slice but they are so magnificent. I am a gemstone collector and would love to see them back and even a different shape…but the larger size like what a luxury!!!!Keep up the gorgeous work~
Hello Carol! I have been shopping with HSN for at least a year almost 2, and I have to say your jewelery are absolutely FANTASTIC!! I love your work of art. I do hope im not a bother to you but I really do hope you can come back with more of the chalcedony with the dark blue sapphires? Sadly I missed it when you were advertising them, they were completely sold out. Next time I wont miss it! Sincerely- Jessica
Hi Carol, I love that evil ey necklace! I had DVR’d the show and when I could order it, it was sold out and no waitlist! Please bring it back!
Dear Carol, your jewelry is absolutely fabulous. Please make more pieces that are more affordable. I would love jewelry and your pieces are spectacular.
When will you (again) offer the long (perhaps 24 – 36 inches) gold necklace featuring circle charms with open-work quatrefoil crosses within the circles? They show you wearing it in the HSN television commercials and the photo on your jewelry web page. I’ve looked for it, but it’s never mentioned as to how to order.
Please ship more evil eye pendants! They are stunning and sold out way too quickly!!
Dear Carol, I love your beautiful line of jewelry! I have a dear friend who loves Rubies, and (as a surprise) I purchased the 17.40 Ruby 10K chandelier earrings for her. I would also like to buy two of the matching necklaces and put them together to form a bib as you did on the model. Unfortunately, this necklace sold out. Is there any way I can still get a hold of two of them? Thanks very much for your help. :-)
Hi!
LOVE your jewelry! I was wondering if at any point you may do a ring, band or any style really, with blue sapphire and aquamarine? I have been searching for one and have not been able to find anything! I want it as a Mother’s ring. Keep bringing us beautiful, high-end designs. Thank you kindly!
only own one of your pieces, the blue sapphire necklace with one pearl hanging, and love it; read your blog n don’t have picture however can describe one very special ring that my three children gave me fifteen years ago n i lost it; it had seven separate thin bands held together with a gold bar crossing lengthwise w/diamonds on that bar n heart dangling; they gave it to me for mother’s day at a time in our lives when things were rough. Do you think you could recreate? Love ur jewelry.
I am a major fan! I get each of the rings that are almost entirely gemstones, (top stone and shank) so of course I SOOOOO disappointed that I missed this one ‘212-572′. Some how it slipped through my fingers which is surprising considering how many times I check your site for new pieces! If you can bringit back PLEASE DO!!! It has my name all over it! All the best
I love your pieces. Especially the rings. The bigger the better. If you can’t use 14k gold can you at least use l0K. I prefer gold. Also being they are so big they need more metal to hold them in place. Are you going to make the 23K heart ring again, I missed it in my size?
I love all your pieces. Can you talk a little more about the round jade ring. I bought this and find I rub on it like as if it were a lucky piece. I know little about jade and would like to know more. There is a wave feeling to it when my fingers slide over. I know the show host must sell your pieces however I really enjoy your words about your inspirations and quality of the gems. Keep bringing us your finest.
Dear Carol, I am a new customer to your beautiful designs. I purchased your Art Deco ring the one you refer to as tattoo jewelry. It is everything you said and more. Unfortunetly, The matching pendant sold out before you aired. I have been watching your page to see if any came back and of course they haven’t. Would you please!!! bring back a few pendants for us girls that were not fortunate enough to get theirs.
