Happy Holidays!
Happy Holidays to you all – November marks the beginning of the season – it’s my favorite season – it’s that time of the year when we get to throw our diets out the window.
I am excited to spend Thanksgiving weekend with you all. I will be on air just after Turkey day – and boy, oh boy, have we put some fun items together for you. Tune in and start your holiday shopping early.
We are launching a new size of the Jay King Sculptured Bowl – make sure to check hsn.com regularly to get your chance to order one.
The look book items are fun and versatile. I have posted a picture of “Three Finger’s Butte”, which is located in Eastern Oregon. This is where “Wildhorse Jasper” is mined. Three Fingers Butte can be seen from over 50 miles away in almost any direction. This jasper has patterns that mimic the vast high desert vistas of the area where it was found. Because of the popularity of stones that resemble landscapes, a “picture jasper” rush started in the area. Dozens of deposits were discovered and claimed. The largest deposit was found in the center of the canyon and called Wildhorse Picture Jasper – it was called Wildhorse after the herd of wild horses that still inhabit and roam this remote canyon. Wild Horse is just one of the stones featured in the multistone necklace that was selected for the “Look Book” for November.

The “Mine Finds” that we are offering in this Holiday show are:
Eagle Eye has come to us from Brazil. Brazil is the 5th largest country in the world. The material was discovered in the rain forest of the Amazon River which occupies all of the north and north central portions of Brazil. The material was named because the miner felt like it was like the eye of the eagle standing out from the dark forest.
Bonito Opalite is from Benito Juarez located in Chihuahua Mexico. The miner grew up in the region as a cowboy. Since his father was a miner – he had grown up looking for treasures on his rides. The miner discovered this unique find while out riding his horse.
Red Forest Agate is mined in Liaoning Province in China, which is located in North Eastern China. Liaoning Province is famous for falling meteorites. The heaviest one fell to earth about 1.9 billion years ago. The material is names Red Forest Agate because of its bright red color and the beautiful pattern that appears in the stone.
I did want to extend a special “Thank you” for the heart felt thank you note to my team and myself thanking us for bringing the Sculptured Bowl to HSN, please help me send good vibes to Darlene in her new home that took 4 years to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina had destroyed it – “Welcome Home” Darlene!
By the time you are reading this I will be on my way over seas on an exploring trip – I can’t wait to share my new stories with you and let you know what amazing finds I have found. I will be out of the country for three weeks, so I will not be able to write any answers to your blog posts until I return.
I am looking forward to being with you during the holiday weekend – make sure to tune in on November 28th.

Hello Jay I love your work, I would like to buy Star of David I liked very much but it was so expensive, I compered with other pendent it was more expensive then any other pendent, but it was sold and I would like to see more Jewish jewelry in your collection, Thank you.
Jay,
I was wondering if someone could special order pieces that are missing in their set. I need a Blue Snake Skin Cuff Bracelet and a Mongolian Copper Mountain Jasper Bracelet Cuff. Can I order these directly from you? Do you have a stash somewhere? I need completers for my sets as I only WEAR MATCHING JEWELRY SETS! :o)
KATHLEEN
Hi Jay, I just returned from Mexico where I bought some jewlery with a stone nobody knew the name of. It is varigated with light and dark shades of turquoise also with green and bright yellow. Some of the vendors said it is turquoise but I thought to ask the authority on the subject! It is really pretty and I would like to be able to identify it when people ask about it as I know they will. If you could source this stone I know it would sell on HSN.
Diet what’s a diet? For my 50th bday my husband purchased me a turquoise necklace. All the ladies at my office could say was that they were sending their husbands to talk to my husband because he had such good taste. You make that easy for him.My request for Santa is more hoop earrings in the style of black agate and persian hoops,I love these earrings.
Happy Holidays Jay. I received the beautiful smaller bowl. I know it is not for food, but I would appreciate knowing if it is advisable to hold water for floating flowers, or if the finish is easily scratched by other items. Can I put potpourri (dried flower mix) or bars of soap in it or will it change the color of the inside of the bowl? I just need some guidelines as to the do’s and don’ts of what will harm the finish. It’s pretty but I’m afraid to put anything in it. Thanks.
I received the three Turquoise bowls that I ordered, two are Christmas presents, the other one already has a special place in my home.
Thank you Jay they are BEAUTIFUL.
I am waiting for your next masterpiece, the lapis one.
Keep them coming!!!
Hello Jay, I so love your Rhodolite Garnet.Purchased your bead pearl and garnet long necklace and most recently your Garnet crocheted necklace. The 2 are just beautiful together even though they are polar opposites.I know the material is not easy to get but when you do have enough would you consider doing an earring. If you have to combine it with the small pink/gold bead pearls that are in the necklace that would be ok.Jay you are as rare as your gemstones. Thank you for what you do for us.
Hello, Jay. I so admire and appreciate your jewelry as I am a jewelry designer as well. I just received the multishaped turquoise necklace #397-112 on sale for $79.95. Wore it today for the first time and when I unhooked it to take it off, the hook and silver bead fell off. I will, unfortunately be returning the necklace. I guess my design pieces aren’t the only ones that have come apart.
Hi Jay! I have almost all of your Turquoise and a few other great items. I have had lots of wonderful comments on it. I love bear and wolf jewelery I have many beautiful peaces. I think the work you do is wonderful and great. I look forward to seeing new peaces. Thank you.
..
Hi Jay, I would just like to see your pendants available with or without necklaces.
Meaning, often I LOVE your pendant, but not so in love w/the necklace and just can’t justify paying the full price just for a pendant. Thank You, Merry Christmas!
Jay:
Your a miracle man. What you do is amazing, and I love your designs. I enjoy just watching you talk about your adventures. Please tell me you are going to bring some more of the Tigers Eye earrings (#524-460) in. I have the necklace/bracelet set but have missed out on the earrings twice now.
Hi Jay, Sorry I missed the bowls again. When will you have more bowls available? Can I preorder? When will you be back on HSN? I love your jewelry..
MR KING
I JUST RECEIVED MY TURQUOISE BOWL. WOW IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I ALSO GOT YOUR BLACK AGATE NECKLACE AND EARRINGS. JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH I ENJOY THE JEWELRY YOU BRING TO HSN.
I ordered your turquoise necklace in all colors and various shapes.(it was on clearance for $79.99) The beauty is beyond belief. I am so happy with my purchase and once again I am left speechless. Thanks again for such a beautiful piece of turquoise(which is my first love). I can’t wiat to see your next show and your next mind finds. Love them all!
Dear Jay, This past summer I purchased my first two pieces from your beautiful jewlery collection. I have the Perian Agate necklace and the Cloudy Mist Jasper necklace. I love them!
Is there a possibility of a matching ring for the jasper necklace? I hope so!
O’ MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!! I just received my turquoise bowl! It is just BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you Jay and all the artists that work with you to help create such beautiful pieces of ART, not just jewelry but Art! I wish you the HAPPIEST OF HOLIDAYS!!!! Thank you again. I would love to hear more about how the creation is actually done on the bowls. Elly
I have received my turquoise bowls, and they are great, even more so was the packaging. They were safe, secure and in perfect condition. A great buy!
OMG I just received my smaller turquoise bowl today. It is spectacular! All of your time and effort with regard to the bowls was worth it—they truly look like museum pieces. I just wanted to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the lapis bowls—I’ll give one of them a good home, I promise. Thank you again and Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Hey Jay, I enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend shows and am thankful that I received some of the items – love the long black agate necklace as well as the blue quartz one. Also the magnetic necklaces with bracelets are great – the smoky quartz is stunning. Look forward to seeing your TS after Christmas. Have a great holiday!
HI Jay! Just received my bowl today and just love it! It is something that will be handed down in the family. I was glad to receive the certificate of authenticity with it. I do have one question about the bowl. Is is suppose to have a few fissure crack areas within the bowl? The underside is completely smooth, but the inside has a few of these areas, and want to be sure that is what I should be seeing. Thanks again for bringing us these beautiful things!
Hi Jay,
Received the small turquoise bowl today. Boy it sure is beautiful and heavy. I’ll treasure it always. Now I’m really looking forward to the lapis bowl. Will any of them come out in December (small or large)? What other stone bowls do you think you’ll make? Happy holidays to both you and your fantastic staff.
I love Jay’s jewelry-especially turquoise. On a recent cruise I bought a necklace In St. Maarten that had a stone called larimar. It is a robin egg blue color. It is supposedly only found in the Dominican Republic on petrified wood. Do you know anything about this stone? Is it found elsewhere under another name? I would like more pieces in this gem if possible.
DEAR MR. KING;
I HAVE ADMIRED YOUR JEWELRY COLLECTIONS FOR MANY YEARS AND PURCHASED QUITE A FEW NECKLACES AND BRACELETS. BUT I CANNOT PURCHASE EARRINGS FOR YOU DO NOT MAKE ANY IN THE CLIP STYLE.
I HOPE IN 2010 YOU WILL BE ABLE TO BRING A FEW CLIP STYLE EARRINGS. I KNOW THERE ARE MANY OTHER WOMEN OUT THERE WHO FEEL THE SAME WAY. THANK YOU.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
I have one pressing comment-please more clip earrings!
Any chance of seeing some?
Dear Jay, Thank you for making us such beautiful jewelery. Last month I bought entire set of turqouise inlay set. Its gorgeous except for necklace it was on. It was to small and made piece look cheap so I made my own.
There are alot of us beaders and was wondering if you could make and sell pendants on their own? Then we can create and make our own necklaces to go with pendants. Im a rock hound too and its fun. Happy Holidays to you, your family and staff.
Thank you Jay!
