Let’s get Romantic and talk about Chalcedony – The Gem of Romance – right before Valentine’s Day.
This exotic gem is often mistaken for quartz, but it is not quartz. It is
more like agate. Chalcedony has a waxy luster and appears in a great variety of colors including blue, lavender, white, gray, yellow, pink, red or brown. It is one of my personal favorites, as we can enhance any color we like.

It is one of my personal favorites, as we can enhance any color we like.Chalcedony is considered a sacred stone by the Native American Indians. It nurtures and promotes brotherhood and good will. It is also used to assist telepathy, absorb negative energy and harmonize the mind, body and spirit. It is found in United States, Austria, Czech Republic, Mexico, Russia, and Brazil.
What amazes me is that the nature of this gem is rough (hardness = 7). The yield is like 20%, which means 80% loss (not like any other rough.) For example, if rough is 10gr, which is 50cts, the finished piece will be only 10cts, or you may say 2 grams.

I found HSN and you in the fall of 2008 and a ring of yours spoke to me. I wasn’t thinking of buying, in fact, I didn’t have one piece of white gold. But in the following few weeks, your band ring of ombred blue sapphires invisibly set in an east-west design kept calling my name. I had to do wait-list but I finally received it and it suits me perfectly. It caused a monumental shift in my appreciation for jewelry. Thank you for your design and the great pleasure I’ve had since.

Hi Sima,
I just ordered your sapphire butterfly earrings and cannot wait to receive them. My daughter, Maria Pearl, passed away when she was 16 and sends me the sign of the butterfly all them time. Please make these also in rose gold with pink sapphires. They would be beautiful. Pink was her favorite color and I think many would buy them in that color too.
