Fun, Freeing Summer Fashion

Submitted by Liz Lange on May 12, 2010 – 12:05 PM17 Comments

Hey girls!

At long last, it’s time to break out the summer clothes! Bright colors and bold patterns! Lightweight dresses and flowing blouses!

This is a season when fashion should be fun and freeing. I have designed my new summer collection in that spirit. The fabrics are light and airy, to keep you cool on the hottest days. The cuts and silhouettes are purposely crafted to flatter on all shapes and sizes. Best of all, each item is easy wear and easy to pair. This collection was made for play!

I have chosen a lot of vibrant colors—purples, pinks, yellows, and blues. And I have complimented these shades with cool and crisp solids—blacks, whites, browns, and navys. One of my favorite items is a 5-pocket knit pant (available in black, navy, and brown); it looks like a classic 5-pocket jean, but made of a knit ponte so it is super comfortable and has a great stretchy easy fit. I also adore the peachskin trouser style pant (available in black, white, and bright colors) and the knit ponte easy pull-on skirt  (available in brown and black). I love how these versatile bottoms can be paired with any of the fun tops in this collection (and almost any top already in your closet).

Every time I look at this collection, it makes me happy and proud. When you wear these pieces, I hope you exude that same happiness and pride. The only accessories you will need are a smile and a suntan.

Join me on May 17th at 8am, 4pm, and 9pm EST, when I show off my new summer favorites. I can’t wait to share them all with you!

xoxo,
LL

Got the complete me maxi dress in blue, purple, brown, black this dress does exactly what you said it you would and that was to create a waist without clinging to the body. I have always watched and admired plus size women who had the courage to wear a dress that looked similar to these beautiful dresses. I put on the brown dress this evening and for the first time in almost 20 years I felt pretty. Thank you so much for the boost of confidence. Please don’t stop doing what you are doing.

I hope you consider making some of your dresses knee length as well as the maxi. The maxi length is not as versatile as the knee length is.

Please consider re-doing your gorgeous maxi dress but this time with 3/4 sleeves. I would love to be able to wear this dress for all 4 seasons. Many people don’t want to show their arms and feel that having to wear a shrug or cardigan takes away from the beautiful look and lines of this dress. I bet you would sell out in 1st airing if you put sleeves on this sexy dress. I would buy one in every color!

      Hi Am12:
Thanks so much for both of your comments. Good news: I am bringing in a great knit to-the-knee dress on my new shows which start airing on July 24th! I think you will like it and find it versatile. I also really like your idea of adding 3/4 length sleeves to the Ultimate Maxi Dress. I will definitely think about it for the next round of maxi-dresses I do. But for now, I LOVE the dress with the drapey cardigans particularly in a matching color.
      Thanks again!

        Hi Liz,

I saw the Ultimate Maxi Dress a couple of days ago and loved the style, but maxis are not flattering on me at 5′ 4″ so I didn’t order it, although I really wanted to. Do you think you will be doing an above the knee version next spring?, maybe not quite as full as the maxi. I love the turquoise. Please repeat that color. I know I could shorten and taper the maxi, but it could get pricy with all that material.

        Thanks for the beautiful fashions.

Hi Liz, please bring us clothes as you do now but without so much frufru. I like some but not so much.

    • Liz Lange says:

      Hi Ladylove:
Thanks so much for your feedback. I will definitely try to do a balance of some embelishment and some simpler items. We are doing some beautiful items for the July shows (July 24th, 25th and 26th). I hope you will tune in then. I have some beautiful simple knit dresses (a maxi and a to the knee version) as well as other fantastic pieces.

    Hi Liz,
Just wanted to welcome you to hsn. You are such a great addition!
I love the beautiful turquoise color you picked for your cardigan
on your first visit. I wore it to the airport one day and got so
many compliments on the color. It’s one of my favorite things to wear.
This summer I am finding it difficult to find a basic navy and white
striped tank. I always thought the whole nautical thing was always in
    style.
Well just wanted to say that I enjoy all of your clothes.

    • Liz Lange says:

      Hi Jami4e:
Thank you so nice for your nice note and for welcoming me so warmly to HSN. I love being here! I completely agree with you about turquoise, it is such a universally flattering and happy color. This July I will be showing teal which is a fabulous turquoise alternative. The nautical look is always in style and particularly this Spring. It is not what I am showing this July but I will be showing it again next Spring for sure.
      xoxo,
      LL

    • Liz Lange says:

      Hi Kayee:
Sorry that I only just noticed your posting or I would have replied sooner! Thanks so much for writing and I am so happy that you like the zebra shirt/jacket. I love that item too. I will see what I can do, but you should definitely put yourself on the waitlist as customers really do sometimes send items back. If i come accross one in your size I will contact you, I promise. I hope you will watch in July as we will be doing other cute animal print tops.

Hi Liz! Please bring in more of your Ultimate Maxi Dresses,
Item no. 240-006, in size Small, in Petites lengths.

  • PATTYF says:

Hi Liz, I’m watching you on HSN while typing and enjoying your clothes. The last time you were on I ordered the gold pants and skirt among other items and love them all. My issue is with the quality of the zippers on both of these items. I have a really really difficult time getting the zipper up on the pants. The skirt is a little easier to get up. Can you please look into the quality of the zippers and upgrade them. Please look at the reviews I’m not alone on this zipper issue. Thanks.

    • Liz Lange says:

      Hi Patty:
First of all thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to write. Quality is extremely important to me and I will absolutely look into the zipper issue. I thank you again for bringing this to my attention. I must say though that you have good taste; the gold skirt and the gold capri pants are two of my all time favorite Completely Me by Liz Lange items ever!
I hope you keep watching, I will be back in July…
      xoxo,
