A Collection Fit for A Queen

Hello girlfriends and happy May, Mother’s Day and Memorial Day!

What a jubilant month this is for all of us. Here’s how May relates to my jewelry and what’s percolating in my studio and at HSN. I’d like to share with you how I became involved in an upcoming feature film to be released at the end of this month. I’ll start from the beginning.

Imagine my phone suddenly rings and I’m sitting with my manicurist having my nails done. I couldn’t possibly pick up the call without smudging my polish so I chose to ignore the interruption. However, looking down at the display screen, I noticed a 727 area code and recognized that the call was coming from Florida. My mind immediately connected this to HSN and my work. So girls, I had to ask my friend at the salon to pick up the call for me and hold my phone to my ear! The voice on the other end was my buyer, Mandi, at HSN. She called to break the news that I was chosen to create a collection inspired by the classic fairy tale, Snow White, in conjunction with a huge promotion for the upcoming blockbuster movie Snow White & the Huntsman!

My thoughts were racing, as I so love the lessons and dripping suspense in this story. I also realized there is a very dark side to this tale, but was instructed to concentrate on the more uplifting elements within. Well girls, the minute my nails were dry, I ran over to Gail’s house and we began to throw out ideas. All I can say is  that if you’re a huge fan of this fairy tale, GET READY! First of all, aside from the regal designs, there are brilliant names for the pieces like “Rare Beauty,” “Hue’s The Fairest of Them All” and “She Is Destined” to name a few. We infused romance and intrigue in these pieces, i.e., the Maidenhair Fern, The Poisoned Apple, the Enchanted Forest and other iconic symbols steeped in earthly delights.

Luckily for me, I was given 100 percent creative license on this project.  I made sure I re-read the fairy tale to explore what feelings it awakened in me: Themes such as innocence, coming of age, womanhood and naturally, the vanity in all of us and importance of feeling beautiful and desirable. I have always believed that beauty comes from within and that external beauty means little without internal strength. Unlike the original fairy tale, this movie introduces a Snow White full of confidence. This girl is no shrinking violet and I can truly imagine her wearing my jewels! I cannot sign off without sincerely crediting all of you girls with strength and inner beauty, which inspires me to create for you. So this collection, though fashioned for Snow White, was truly created for you – MY Snow Whites, my bold and beautiful “Heidi Girls”.

Much love,

Heidi

xoxo

    Hi Heidi,

I am very upset that I seem to be addicted to your beautiful and unusual jewelry art and I can not seem to break the habit.

Do you plan on bringing back the lovely Berry Delicious crystal necklace with aventurine beads and matching pierced earrings. These are so strikingly beautiful. Since I am relatively new at acquiring your breathtaking masterpieces (no shrinking violet am I), I apparently missed out when they were aired. By chance, I came across them displayed on a friend.

I have collected Heidi Daus jewelry since you first started. I noticed some of the earliest pieces do not have your name on them, only “UTC China”..can you please tell me what year you started to put your name on your pieces? Some of my friends claim the ones I wear from that time aren’t yours because I can’t prove it by showing your name! I KNOw they are yours, but neec you to tell me when you started to put your name on them, so I have something to tell them of my pieces-mine predate it!

got up to watch Heidi Daus show on hsn as listed in program guide and guess what..no Heidi..just same old dg2 jeans. why list Heidi and then not give her air time. wrong.

  • Hi Heidi,
Congratulions on beautiful shows! I don’t know which is more sparkly, the jewelry or the designer! Hugs to you and Gail!
    Love,

Heidi—loving the shows !! Was wondering if you plan to bring back the Sea-ing Stars ring , in the Lt Blue color that it came in ( along with the white ) I missed it the 1st time , and I really would prefer the Blue , to the White .

  • ozzycat says:

Heidi, I just LOVE everything you have. EVERYTHING! Is it possible maybe that you can do something in cats or dogs.I love all of your animal jewelry, but I would love to see some cats and dogs. I can just imagine how beautiful they would be. Thank-you.

  • BANKERLADY says:

I was horrified to find out the Maidenhair Fern brooch had sold out before I had a chance to see it on the website! I had been checking almost every day to see if it had been added to your site. I still checked back EVERY DAY to see if it was back. It was back today on Waitlist and I couldn’t move my fingers fast enough to be put on Waitlist! I am so excited! I’ll be doubly disappointed if I’m not able to purchase it. I have quite a collection of your brooches! Thank you for your lovely pieces!

    • BANKERLADY says:

Heidi! I was able to get the Maidenhair Fern pin! I watched and watched and Watched and when I got on Waitlist I was ecstatic. I received it yesterday and couldn’t be more pleased! I give one of your pins to my mother-in-law every year for Christmas. My only problem is which one to give!

Thank you for bringing a smile to my face everytime I look at my collection of your jewelry!

  • aubie57 says:

Heidi, please help me! I purchased one of your beautiful bracelets more than a year ago. Much to my dismay, it has a very foul odor. I have tried airing it out to get rid of the smell, I have put it up and forgot about it, hoping the odor would go away, I have tried putting it in a drawer with a box of soda, nothing has helped. I know it has been a long time but I wanted to be able to wear it. However, I cannot tolerate this odor. Can you help me? This was an expensive piece of jewelry.

  • batwoman says:

I got the Royal Treatment necklace. Will the earrings ever return?

  • Lady4Peace says:

Heidi, I’ve many pieces of your jewelry. One of my favorites was a watch I’d purchased some time back. It came with three different straps. The face itself was square…and full of gems!

While I was hospitalized…it was STOLEN. I was as shocked as my hubby. Are you going to bring this back? I sure hope so.

    A Fan for Life

I love the Tennis ball earrings and racquet that I purchased from your “What a racquet” design. People are always are asking me where I found my collection, especially the earrings! As I am also an AVID baseball fan, would REALLY love a baseball set … a bat and ball!!

Heidi, Do you have any plans on designing a baseball set??

  • ethel15 says:

    thank you ethel

  • NIPPER1963 says:

Heidi, LOVE your pieces, just have a couple of pieces so far. I really hope you have a snowman ring in the future I know it would be the BEST.

  • wiscontwin52 says:

Oh my, Heidi! The Today’s Special Necklace is SPECTACULAR!!!! Stunningly beautiful. I LOVE DRAGONFLIES and I couldn’t ask for a more beautiful necklace or price! I got the earrings on waitlist as well. I have one tiny request. Is it possible for you to design/make an extender for your “hook”style necklaces? I would love to be able to have just a schosh more length flexability with your lovely pieces. I don’t believe a normal extender will work. Thank you again, lovely lady!

  • nana1969 says:

ALTHOUGH I FIND SOME OF YOUR ITEMS QUITE BEAUTIFUL, I NEVER PURCHASE THEM BECAUSE I FEEL THEY ARE OVERPRICED AND NOT AT ALL AFORDABLE FOR THE AVERAGE WOMAN IN THIS TIME OF HARD ECONOMY. SELDOM IS EASY PAY EVEN OFFERED ON YOUR ITEMS.IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU WERE MORE IN TOUCH WITH THE AVERAGE WOMAN.

  • QueenCat59 says:
