Celebrate Sharif’s 10th Anniversary Museum Collection

Submitted by Sharif on June 12, 2012 – 2:02 PM2 Comments

Tune in to HSN on June 13th for my Today’s Special! I’ll be on air from midnight to 2 a.m.; from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.; from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. To celebrate this milestone, I am introducing a retrospective of my life in the Museum Collection. I wanted to create something very meaningful and personal as a tribute to the past 10 years at HSN. This lead me to reflect on my childhood in Egypt. There are so many Egyptian artifacts that remind me of different events in my career that can be interpreted into a handbag.

The Egyptian Queen – Cleopatra represented as the reincarnation of the Goddess Isis

Isis is the ideal mother and wife, as well as the patron of nature and magic. Cleopatra was a great beauty. I have created a tribute to her beauty in the Egyptian Leather Collage Satchel. There are over pieces or leather, studs and stones used in this design.

King Tut – The 18th Dynasty Pharaoh who inherited the throne at a young age

He is one of Egypt’s greatest icons and remains a fascination to the world today. The most famous of all the kings found in the Valet of the Kings was Tutankhamen, also known as King Tut. I used the mask found in his tomb as the centerpiece among several new designs.

Egyptian Goddess Renenutet – Envisioned particularly in art as a hooded cobra or as a woman with the head of a cobra

The snake-goddess is worshiped over the whole of Lower Egypt and the cobra is also on the crown of the pharaohs. I used the unique markings on the hood of the cobra snake for this painted genuine snakeskin satchel.

Sharif 3 Celebrate Sharifs 10th Anniversary Museum Collection

These are just some of the pieces you will see during the Museum Event. Each one is a Limited Edition Collector’s Piece. We are all looking forward to the 10 Year Anniversary and I’m very grateful to all the people who share their passion and spirit. You are charming gardeners who make souls blossom, each one of you. I would thank you from the bottom of my heart, but for you my heart has no bottom.

See you on June 13th,

Sharif

I bought two of Sharif’s bags. Although they were very beautiful, the shoulder straps were in the way and it was very difficult to get into the purse. I had to send them back. seems like a design flaw to me

The handbags are lovely, to be sure, but the last two handbags I purchased quickly had issues. One had brass corner plates and two of them fell off, and the other’s leather straps broke. I foundout today that it’s past the warranty for both of these items so I’m going to try to have them repaired. For the purchase price, I honesty expected the bags to be of much better durability and quality. I’m pretty disappointed. I could have bought Louis Vuitton and I know it would still be guaranteed.
