Carol Brodie’s Style Tips – Look Cool with Summer’s Hottest Jewelry
Join me for the Rarities Celebration shows Saturday, July 16th 3-6 am and Sunday, July 17th 1-4 pm ET.
Style Tips – Look Cool with Summer’s Hottest Jewelry
1. Summer is all about celebrating natural elements and inspirations. I love to pile on turquoise, seashells and anything that makes me feel cool even on the balmiest of summer days and nights.
2. When you are showing glistening skin, make your arms shine in summer’s best cuffs and bracelets. Pile them on for a super summer chic look.
3. Long, layered silhouettes (think summer’s hottest dresses) shine with long earrings, larger cocktail rings and layers of links, pearls and beads.
4. I love big, bold rings paired with goddess golden skin and topped with a perfect French manicure.
5. Choose your jewelry according to your color palette. There is nothing cleaner or fresher than white!
6. Talismans and symbols shine even more brightly in summer when they glisten against bare skin.

Expert Advice – Caring for Your Fabulous Finds
1. Start with a clean damp cloth for your more absorbant or opaque gems and materials like wood.

2. For lapis, malachite, turquoise, opal, amber, coral, jade and pearls, wipe clean and dry. Do not ever soak in water, chemicals for steamers.
3. For diamonds and other sparkling gems set in silver or gold, create a jewelry bath of 1 part ammonia, 1 part dishwashing liquid and 2 parts warm water. Put the mixture in a bowl and let your jewelry soak for 10-15 minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to gently wipe away dirt and rinse in a bowl of cool water. Pat dry with a soft cloth.

4. Store your jewelry in separate bags, pouches or compartments to avoid scratching and damage.
Celebrate yourself and summer by choosing jewelry that helps you to create your own signature style. My summer style is all about jewelry…big, bold, layered, piled and uber-glamorous.
XOXOX,
Carol

Hi Carol, I just want to say I disagree with the previous comment about your prices. I’ve noticed them coming down over the last year to a much more attainable level. A piece in 18k would be in the THOUSANDS with gold prices where they are now. Keep up the great work, love you and all of your creations!
Hi Carol.
I’m in love with your jewerly, own so many of your pieces. Every piece is very unique and beautiful, get many compliments every time i wear them.
Carol i would like to see if you can bring back a WOOD DRUSSY Necklace. BOUGHT the stretch cross, and both of the star of David BRACELETES and i’m catholic, but THEYRE VERY COOL, love it, please make the stetch diamond bracelets with diferent symbols like a peace sign, ying yang, evil eye, hearts, a moon, 2 interlock circles, etc. Thanks
I love all of your ideas… Thank you so much for such wonderful suggestions. Please join me on Sunday, September 25th from 6 -9pm for a very exciting new collection and the launch of my newest Rarities timepiece. See you then. Lots of love, Carol
Hi Carol I love your jewelry and wish I could afford more. However, I just recently purchased the Anhui Turquoise and Diamond Sterling Silver Ring Item: 114-382 and I really love the ring but one of the stones fell out 1st time wearing. It didn’t even make it an hour. I put it on left the house, drove to work, got to my desk and looked down and it was gone. I can’t find it and it is past the 30 days for HSN to send it back. Can you do anything to help. I love the ring. thank you!
I am so sorry that you lost a gem, that really makes me sooo sad. Honestly, when the same thing happens to me with any piece of jewelry, I bring it to my local jeweler and they can easily replace the diamond — it should be relatively inexpensive. I am truly so sorry that you had a problem but I know there is an easy solution.
Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I am so grateful!
Lots of love, Carol
Carol, I just recently saw your wood bangle with the drusy. Would you please bring something similar back. I wasn’t watching your line when the bangle was available and love the natural look you achieved with the drusy and wood. Drusy is one of my favorite stones, but most designers want to color the drusy which turns it fake looking. The natural stone looks much better than the colored. Thank you again for your beautiful creations.
Carol, I love your jewelry and rarities collection. I get tons of compliments every time I wear your pieces. I’m glad you’ve brought more pieces into the collection that are more affordable. Before, I had to wait until something went on sale or clearance, but now I can buy things when they’re new and at the regular price. I like that these pieces still use real stones and have your fabulous creative style to them. I am grateful you bring beauty and style to my life.
Your kind words just brought a lot of beauty and gratitude into my life… thank you so much!! I have lots of great values and wonderful styles coming. Please join me on Sunday, September 25th from 6 -9 to see my newest Rarities. xo
I have been watching your shows and admiring all the beautiful jewelry you offer us. I did purchase my first item and I do love it. However, it broke in my hands. It was the long tourmaline necklace. The sad part is that this happened after the 30 day return. Is there a place I can send it to so I can get it fixed?
Hi Chelsea,
I am so sad that you had a problem with the long tourmaline necklace. It is wire wrapped and so easy to fix. Please take it to your local jeweler and they can have it fixed so easily. It literally takes a minute… and will be very inexpensive. Thanks for letting me know.
I have more wire wrapped necklaces coming, and I have put them on a heavier sterling wire to make them more sturdy. I know you will have this fixed and will love it for a long time. See you on Sept. 25th! xo
Carol, I have several of your pieces and I love them all. I missed out on your beautiful grey moonstone ring from about six months ago. The size I ordered was too small and the right size was gone when I tried to reorder. Any chance you will be making more of that ring or something similar in the future? Loved the stone and the setting.
Carol, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Unfortunately, I called Customer Service and since I purchased the bracelet a year ago, there is nothing they could do for me. Some of the designers I purchase from have limited lifetime warranties, so I am out of luck.
I suggest that you bring the eye to your local jeweler… I am sure they can fix it for you. Nothing is ever useless… you just need to know where to go to have it repaired and the gem replaced. Please let me know what happens. xo
Carol, I have your wood bracelet with the evil eye charm. I wore the charm every day on another bracelet and loved it until the blue part of the eye fell out and I lost it. Now it’s useless to me. Can you do anything for me?
Hi Carol
Will you be bringing back your Carved Turquise, blue topaz and white sapphire earrings????????
Please let me know.
Thanks
Becky
Carol,
How does one explain how much they love your jewelry? Maybe throwing a “Rarities Party” at 3am to celebrate your summer show? I am Mom and a hardcore lover of your line. No matter if I am wiped out from the day, if you are on, I am watching!
I wanted to know if you had any idea where I could find (or maybe plan to bring back) your gorgeous London Blue Emerald cut large ring? I believe it was available Christmas 2010. I can’t stop dreaming about that beauty. Cheers!
Jackie
Hi Jackie,
Thanks so much for writing in… I took some time off so I am sorry that I am only getting back to you now. That ring today would cost 500.000 more than it did last year so it will not come back at all. The gold and diamonds have gone way up and the London Blue topaz was specially priced. I have a lot of other big beautiful rings coming… hang tight and tune in on Sept. 25th for the newest Rarities presentation. Love your enthusiasm and I am so appreciative. xoxo
Hi Carol,
I was reading your posts and someone suggested you do a diamond deco stretch bracelet….that would be AMAZING! Please consider doing it for all of us who have and LOVE your deco rings. I was still wondering if you were going to make different versions of your shamballa with different gem balls?? My husband really wants one and I want to get one for him as a gift. Please let me know if it’s in the works and when you might be bringing it to air.
Thanks,
Melissa
Carol,
I have a request. I love the layered look you have been bringing us. I bought two of your 72″ necklaces.
Would you please consider bringing your future necklaces in 40″ rather than 36″. We larger ladies love to double up too, but the 36″ doubled to a 18″ is a little tight.
I also wanted to thank you for the champagne/blue diamond deco earrings. They are everything I hoped for. I love them!!!! They are my new everyday earrings.
Hi Carol,
My 2nd recent purchase is the champagne and diamond Shamballa bracelet. I love it! I don’t have a loup to view the diamonds more closely as other reviewers have, but I am hoping you will speak to the quality of the diamonds in the bracelet. I also bought the smoky quartz door knocker earings in vermeil which is also amazing. Thanks.
Hi Carol,
I love your jewelry. I think it would be great if you could design an art deco style diamond stretch bracelet. I love the way the Star of David bracelet looks, however, I think it would be great to have more options to choose from.
Carol
I wonder if you would consider designing for HSN a version of the “butterfly” necklace–a series of six butterflies along a chain that when put together will form a star of david. Are you familiar with this design concept?
Carol..I had to write to you about the Art Deco “tattoo” ring…I can’t tell you how many complete strangers have complimented me on this ring…it is so unique…I have a lot of jewelry and I must say I treasure this as one of my most lovely pieces even though it wasn’t as expensive as some pieces I have…it is so totally unique…I even gave a girl(a complete stranger) in St. Louis your name and HSN website to look it up and see if they still have it–she loved it so much. Terrific piece!!
Carol, did you know which cross necklace I was referring to in my July 13 post? I’m anxious to know.
Yes… I believee that uou are looking for the long sapphire cross. I will not be bringing that one back as I really try to keep the jewelry fresh and new every month. Perhaps one will be returned and you can find it on HSN.com. Please check out all of the new pieces on-line and get ready for the most amazing new collections in September. Wishing you a most wonderful summer. xo
I don’t know if you are still looking for the cross, but I believe I saw it tonight on eBay. The listing will be up in five days. Hope this helps.
Carol,
I purchased the Shamallah bracelet today and when you said it was the deal of the centery, I pushed the “purchase” button on my computer.
I wanted to ask you if you will bring back the onyx with the diamond cross in a larger size for guys. Too small when I got it last season but really liked it.
You are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike
Hi Mike,
It is really up to HSN to decide what sizes they order. What size do you need?
You will love the Shamballah bracelet. It rocks.
Carol :)
Hi Carol
I love your wonderful designs and have many of your pieces.
One which I would like to really have are turquoise carved earrings.
PLEASE bring them back, make this girl happy.
Thank you so very much.
Best from wonderful San Francisco.
Becky
Carol………….. the large turquoise ring with the surrounding rubies was stunnng, and, I did not act in time. It sold out and there was no mention if it was going to come back. I would like to buy it. It is truly a stunning ring and I would love to have it in my fashion wardrobe. Will you be bring this ring back?
Hi Carol,
I really enjoyed your shows this weekend. I’ve been wanting that onyx buddha and so with the event price I couldn’t resist. It’s really beautiful as are all of your things. Just wondering – will you be making more shamballa bracelets? I’m obsessed and so is my husband. He would LOVE an onyx and ruby one and I would LOVE an onyx and multi-sapphire one. Keep up the great work and I agree with the lady who called in during one of the shows – bring us your beautiful tops too!! xo
Carol, I love your jewelry! The Blue Howlite 3-Strand 20-1/2 Bead necklace is so beautiful! I would love for you to bring in a matching bracelet.
Carol, I have your wood bracelet with the evil eye charm. I wear rhe charm every day. The blue part of the eye fell out and I lost it. Do you guarantee your jewelry? I would love to get it repaired. Could you please advise?
You can call HSN customer service at 800-284-3900 and speak to an agent. If there is still inventory available they will send you an even exchange and if not you can return the item for a full refund as HSN does not have a repair center. Hope this helps. xo

Hi Carol. I ordered the honey citrine shell inlay ring on hsn. one of the shell inlays has fallen out and was lost. It was the smaller rectangular inlay. I was wondering if theres any way to get it replaced. I just love this ring and get a ton of compliments on it. I can give you my info if you’d be able to send me a replacement piece. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Unfortunately I can’t replace the shell as each ring is hand cut and no two pieces are the same. You can call HSN customer service at 800-284-3900 and speak to an agent. If there is still inventory available they will send you an even exchange and if not you can return the item for a full refund as HSN does not have a repair center. Hope this helps. xo
Hi Carol,
Your beautiful designs are absolutely amazing! I have a question about one of your pieces—Will you be bringing back the colored gemstone/diamond(?) elongated cross necklace? I first saw them online, but all the colors were sold out except for one. Even though the only color that was available wouldn’t have been my first choice I decided I would buy it because the design was so beautiful, but by the time I made up my mind that too had sold out. Bummer!
