5 easy solutions
If your jewelry collection is starting to look like a tangle of treasure - it’s time to de-clutter!
Every January I like to reorganize my “bounty” and rediscover hidden jewels in my own jewelry boxes.
I have 5 easy solutions for organizing your collection now, so you will enjoy your pieces for a lifetime.
1) Start by weeding through everything - sorting the like items together (rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces). Then sort by size and color (silver, gold, gemstone pieces together; small and large pieces together).
2) Make a pile of items that need repair. Put aside things you plan to give away and throw away those mismatched and hopelessly broken items that have seen better days!
3) Keep very valuable items and family keepsakes where you won’t lose track of them. Create a file of appraisals and receipts for your more expensive pieces.
4) Don’t forget: Out of sight, out of mind. Our Prestige “window” boxes are the perfect solution for viewing your collections at a glance. Another benefit: your silver, vermeil and gold will all stay tarnish free!

| If your necklaces look like an unsightly nest of knots, our necklace box is a great solution. | For cuffs, bracelets and watches the two level box is a must-have. | Prestige ring box = A ring lovers dream! |
5) Finally, put your “wearable art” on display….Busts, trees, and jewelry holders are another great way to enjoy your beautiful adornments.

Answers to Questions
Greetings to Rita in Redwing, Minnesota – I love Red Wing (they are known for their pottery) and I still have some beautiful pieces of pottery I purchased there more than 20 years ago. We had a wonderful time in Puerto Rico over Christmas….hope you enjoyed your holidays!
Happy New Year, Lois in Illinois – I’m thrilled to see you love your Paula Abdul necklace! All of the hosts enjoyed working with Paula….she’s a very sweet person (and very funny!). You (and “granny”) asked my about the Chocolate Diamond Flower Ring – The designer I worked on for this ring (from Italy) would not be happy if we “copied” it in Absolute….however, I will work on something similar in Absolute for those of you who love the look. You also asked about ideas for wearing white denim “pumps” – they sound very cute for summer and would look great with other colors of denim (skirts, capris, and white jeans would be adorable). Finally, to answer your question about the red knit jacket (I call it the Natalie Jacket because our gorgeous model, Natalie owns this one). I will talk to my buyer, Joanna, to see if we can bring in something similar (this particular style has been retired). I have a new collection of My Fave Fashion coming in February!
Hello Ruth in the Lone Star State - Wow – 400 rings, I think you have me beat! I hope you have some of our ring boxes, as they would surely come in handy for you. I think your suggestion for Joy Mangano is a good one…I will pass on your feedback about moving the controls higher on the clothes dryer for easier access.
Hi Joan in Georgia! You’re a girl after my own heart – I love both Diana Venezia and Deb Guyot designs! Diana will be here for our January Silver Gallery with some new gorgeous pieces – the show is January 18 (Sunday) at 1:00 pm – Hope you can watch!
Constance in NY – Nice to hear from you! The necklace your asking about is part of a new collection I’m debuting on Jan. 18 called “Somchintana”…It means Dreams Come True. We will be offering the flower necklace you are asking about in several different gemstone choices with matching earrings and bracelets. The pieces are completely made by hand in the US (Florida). I’ve traveled to the designer’s studio and have had the pleasure to collaborate with a wonderful team of artisans. This is a stunning collection, and I look forward to introducing the pieces on the 18th.
Hello to “your fan” in Illinois - Thank you for your message….and you’re correct – my family loves art! My husband has been involved in the art business for many years – he used to own a gallery and is a collector and is a big supporter of the Arts. My oldest son, Carlos, is a Graduate Gemologist and metal smith….he leaves for Florence, Italy this spring where he will study jewelry design. Finally, my youngest son, TJ, is a senior in college (up in your neck of the woods, Chicago) and he’s an Art History Major and Creative Writing Minor. I guess “love for the arts” is in the genes!
Greetings Bev in Texas! Sorry to hear about your Jay King pendant. If you forward me your email, I will get your info to Jay’s buyer to see if it can be repaired.
Malissa in “The Golden State” of California” – Hi! You asked about the Prestige boxes – Yes, we are working on an earring box and it will debut sometime before summer. The other boxes are all on order to stay tuned….they’ll be back soon!
Top of the Mornin’ to Ya, Lorrayne in PA - I’ve never been to Ireland, but hope to get there one day. Wishing you the Luck of the Irish for the New Year!
Barbara in Minnesota – I’m so happy you love your CL Smokey Quartz pendant (it’s a beauty). Enjoy your “hot chocolate” in chilly Minnesota!
Hi Amber in Virginia - Sorry you missed the ruby ring…..I will check with my buyer, Sandy, to see if we can reorder it.
Lorie in Massachusetts – Sorry you missed 386-610, the Tuscan heart pendant. I will forward your request to bring this one back to our buyer. Take care :)
Hello to Rita in the Land of 10,000 Lakes - The watch you’re asking about was a Christmas gift from my husband….I love the duel time zone design. I will show it to my buyer to see if we can bring in something similar. Stay tuned!
Hi Pam in Ohio – Happy New Year! You asked about my nails…First, I have a great nail tech, Judy. I wear acrylics (she applies the acrylic over my natural nail - she avoids using the fake tips). She tries to keep the acrylic very thin for a more natural look. She uses the natural acrylic color and then airbrushes the tips for an ”American” manicure (unlike the bright white tips of a French manicure). She finishes with a coat of OPI “Sweetheart” or a similar pale pink color. Hope this helps!
Beta in Ohio – Happy 2009! You made my morning – thanks for your nice message….All my best for the New Year :)
Hello Faria in NJ -Yes, I received your photos…the jewelry you make is lovely. As you know, HSN works directly with manufacturers and we buy in volume, so I’m afraid it would be difficult to try to make jewelry for TV (I believe you told me in your letter that you don’t have the capability to make your jewelry in volume). I will show your pieces to our fashion jewelry buyer to see if she has any ideas. Take care.
Let me know what’s on your mind….I love hearing from you!
Fondly,
Colleen

I love your favorite things. I buy items from nearly all the clothes lines on hsn but have to return them due to the sizing. I wish you would tell your buyers to size items like they are sized in the stores. I usually wear a 2 petite or reg. 2/4. I order xs and they are huge…. I have quit ordering due to return shipping. Usually your items fit but the last few have been too big also.
Thanks for listening!

DID YOU SEE THE JAMES BOND FILML’S LATELY LIKE CASINO ROYALE… CAN YOU CREATE THE NECKLACE IN THE MOVIE CALLED THE ALGERIAN LOVE KNOT NECKLACE? AND QUANTUM OF SOLACE THE ACTRESS IS WEARING A ROLO NECKLACE AND A FISH PENDANT IN GOLDTONE ITS BEAUTIFUL CAN YOU RECREATE IT FOR US GALS. BUT PLEASE MAKE IT A 20 TO 24 INCH THANKS, LOVE ATESHA.
When are you going to get the stackable open jewelry box back in stock? Missed it the last time as it was on in the middle of the night and sold out quickly. I really need these. Love your ring boxes.
Colleen can you please bring all rings in starting at a size 4, even a 5? Some rings start at a size 6 and that doesn’t work for me. I need a 4 on my left hand ring finger and I can do a 5 on my right hand ring finger but I am left out of a lot of rings because they start at a 6. It gets costly to purchase a ring and have to have it sized all the time, especially sterling.
colleen i want to thank you for this loupe,as i use it all the time.my husband and i go to a lot of flea-markets and i use this loupe for the jewelry that i buy…i can wear it around my neck and it looks so classy,i get a lot of compliments for it and i steer them to hsn. on your favorite things..so again thank-you…
When will you have you necklace boxes again. I desparately need them as I have outgrown my other jewelry boxes with Jay King necklaces and want to protect them but see them when I am deciding what to wear.
I wanted to write that I own the knit top with cross gathered front. I got it in the fuschia and it’s fab. I couldn’t leave a review because it was a gift. For all you ladies, I would say this runs roomy, don’t size up. The material is nice and stretchy and the color pops; it isn’t a quiet pink! If you don’t like bright, don’t get the pink. LOL It looks great on its own or under a jacket.
thank-you colleen, for all you do…please bring us more jewelry from thailand…love there jewelry.you had some on your show and i believe i heard you say she has her shop close to you,i hope that you will bring more of her jewelry to hsn.again thank-you.
thank-you colleen, for all you do…please bring us more jewelry from thailand…love there jewelry.you had some on your show and i believe i heard you say she has her shop close to you,i hope that you will bring more of her jewelry to hsn.again thank-you.

Hi Colleen, You have got to tell me if the drusy rings you had on Saturday night 1/31 on the Wei East show will be on HSN and when??? Loved them!!!! I am becoming a drusy collector and those looked to be the perfect size rings. Thank you!
Colleen, I own alot of jewelry and most of which was bought at HSN, but I heard that you are not suppose to hang your beads or pearls, Is this true? I enjoy you very much. Thank You.
hello colleen i love your show with your-favorite things.will you be-doing us a favor, and bringing the set of pearls that the first lady was wearing at the nogilration-ball with her husband president obama i love those pearls, they are a strand of multi-color.????thank-you…keep-up the good-work,and thank-you for answering all of our questions…
I was just wondering, I know it has been a while, what happened to Judy Crowell and her husband Paul? They were a nice addition to HSN, but of course no one beats YOU! You are such a happy, fun person, which makes watching you so enjoyable. I do, however, miss all the shows with you and Suzanne. I know they have to share her with the other hosts, but you two cannot be beat together. Love ya. Nancy from Indiana.
when will the anti-tarnish sterling jewelry boxes be available?
Hi again.. I wrote about the unusual jewelry I saw on a cruise.. I have more information… the website for this jewelry is genero.it – please let me know what you find out… once you see this jewelry you will understand what I am telling you.. it is so different.. and like I said I haven’t ever seen anything like it and it is so beautiful.. I believe you would sell tons of it here in the states.. thanks.. debbie
Hi….i love all of your show’s you did a very good thing this weekend…the camcorder show was amazing i have some very interesting idea’s…i hope your husband enjoyed it…..please write back if you have any questions or concerns,,,,thank you
I was recently on a cruise and saw some very different pieces of jewelry.. they were made by genero (venice) and they are sold on itvn ( australian home shopping) they are also sold by damas in the united emirates.. but haven’t been able to find anyone in the u.s. who sells it… it is animal print… just gorgous…. can you look in to it.. and maybe feature it? ezio & antonella genero are the designers… thanks debbie
L. I missed out on the Tuscan Heart 386-610. Sold out while i was dialing the phone. Please bring this one back. I called customer service no wait list or back order available. Big disappointment!
thank-you so much colleen for answering my questions.i love your new page.and i’m going to take your advice and get rid of the clutter in my jewelry.i have your prestige jewelry boxes and they really work.wishing you and your family a very happy new year.
I will keep checking for the return of the Prestige boxes that I asked about. I bought the one for cuffs and once I got all my cuffs in the box, I couldn’t believe I had so many put away! I am so glad I made that purchase! If someone designs jewelry in silver that is floral, particularly orchids with gemstones, I would not be able to resist, especially if it involved pearls. Hint, hint! :) Thanks again!
I am in love with drusy stones and remember you mentioning that you would have new drusy in your March show. Is this accurate? Would love to see some platinum drusy set in an intricate silver setting.
Hi Colleen, Question which Turquoise ring would you reccommend for the Amy Kahn Turq pend. on todays Silver Gallery? I have all the Buddah jewlery you sell.Great Taste
